Captain Michael VandenBos P.S. is a busy school that thrives on learning opportunities, both inside and outside the classroom. Our students, teachers and parents enjoy sharing in an abundance of successes reflective of our motto: Flying High For Excellence. An especially important and valued component to school life is the opportunity for our students to participate in co-curricular activities, too many to mention. Due to the large number of tournament, competition and entry fees, all student participants will be expected to cover any additional costs. During activities of a competitive nature (e.g. finals), please note that equal student participation, may not always take place, however, during practise times, our goal is to continue to develop leadership, teamwork and individual skills for all VandenBos students. Jersey Policy: Jerseys will be assigned and handed out to our athletes by our coaching staff. Coaches will collect the jerseys at the end of each game/tournament. As we are beginning new traditions at Captain Michael VandenBos, and are very proud of them, students will not be able to wear their own jerseys for competitions. Transportation to and from most events will be the responsibility of the families. If your son/daughter makes arrangements to be driven to an event by a volunteer driver, they must provide a WRITTEN NOTE from home allowing them to do so. Pictures: We are also asking parents to take pictures at the games/tournaments for our 2013-2014 yearbook. Please see attached memo re-pictures and sign the permission form below allowing your childs photo to be taken.
