FINANCE FOR NON FINANCE EXECUTIVES Rationale: The finance function is one of the most important functions in any business organization. Therefore understanding the financial systems is imperative for executives whose decisions have an impact on finance and profitability. With the above in view, NMIMS has organized a two day Management Development Programme on Finance for Non Finance Executives. The workshop has been designed for non-finance executives to understand the dynamics of the financial systems, norms and practices. Objectives To understand financial statements and how they are made To enable non-finance executives to understand the dynamics of finance, interpretation of financial statements and MIS Analyzing the impact of decision making on finance To understand the various aspects of planning and control through finance

Content The structure and dynamics of Financial Statements Understanding Financial Statements & Indian and US GAAP Common Concepts in finance like Net worth, working capital etc. Developing and using MIS, ERP, Electronic Commerce Interpreting financial statements through financial ratios and other indicators Working capital management and finance Analysis of Costs, CVP and Break even analysis Pricing policy and other decisions Other decisions like make or buy, buy or lease etc Taxation and its implication on financial decision making Capital investment analysis time value of money, pay back, discounted cash flow, Internal rate of return Programme Co-coordinator: Dr. Vrinda Kamat is B.Com, F.C.A; Ph.D She has had a vast experience of working with S.B. Billimoria and Co. and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. where she has worked for 10 years in Corporate Finance, Taxation and Internal Audit departments.

She is presently a full time faculty at Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) which is among the top 10 B schools in India and has been a faculty for the last seven years. Her areas of specialization include taxation, financial management, and management accounting. She has conducted a number of training programs for various companies. She has presented a number of research papers in National and International conferences. Date November 28 & 29, 2008 Time: 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Fee: Rs.9,500/- per participant (inclusive of service-tax). The programme is non-residential. 10% discount for companies sponsoring minimum 3 candidates. The fee includes tea/coffee, lunch and the reading material & certificate of participation.
