Study Abroad: Belize


Study abroad this summer in Belize May 14 - June 9, 2012! The University of Arkansas has a long term partnership with a developing community on the coast of Belize. We work together on projects to promote sustainable economics and social development. You can choose projects in your area of expertise and interests to work side by side with community leaders, business owners, teachers, students and families. Students take leadership roles in development and implementation of projects and will experience intense cultural immersion. Come join us to learn and to serve for the experience of a lifetime! Application Deadline is FEBRUARY 1ST, 2012

Project Clean Plate Volunteers Needed


The Office for Campus Sustainability is collaborating with Chartwells for the Project Clean Plate event. This is a food waste awareness campaign that includes a Kindle give-away held in February. The OCS is looking for volunteers to help with this campaign. A volunteer training meeting will be held on FEBRUARY 1ST at 5:30 with food and drinks. Volunteers are needed to help weigh the food and collect information from the students. You will receive a gift bag filled with coupons and a tshirt, plus a free meal at the dining hall where you are volunteering! American Heart Association


The American Heart Association is looking for students to start a new RSO at the UA! The American Heart Association is the nations oldest and largest voluntary health organization dedicated to building healthier lives free of heart disease and

building healthier lives free of heart disease and stroke. The prevalence of heart disease is staggering. It is the leading cause of death (equal to more than the next six causes of deaths combined, including all forms of cancer) in both genders, all ethnicities and affects all ages. Stroke is the third leading cause of death. Nearly 36,000 babies are born each year with congenital heart defects. Funds raised by the American Heart Association go to help prevent, treat and defeat these diseases, fund cutting-edge research, conduct lifesaving public and professional educational programs, and advocate to protect public health. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.


The members of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority will be hosting a Campus Wide Dress Drive. They will be collecting evening wear until February 7th! VAC Board & Coordinator Positions Open


If you would like to join the team of student leaders for 2012 - 2013, please apply for a position. This group organizes various service projects and events included Make-A-Difference Day, Full Circle Food Pantry, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, etc. We are looking for outstanding students who are committed to service.
