Install Android ROM on HTC HD2 [Complete Guide]


May 11, 2011 By raj 7 Comments If you love the Android mobile operating system and you won a HTC HD2 smartphone then there is a way that you can taste Android on HTC HD2. Here is complete guide to which will install Android OS on HTC HD2:

You will need:


1. Download This DFT_LEO_MAGLDR113_DAF file and unzip on PC. 2. Down load the latest radio from here and unzip it. 3. Download Clockwork Recovery for htc hd2 from here and unzip it.

4. Download android rom and copy to sd card. My favorite miui rom from here Other roms here.

How to install:
1.Installing MAGLDR
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Navigate to the folder you have extracted above. Run ROMUpdateUtility as administrator on windows 7/vista. Turn off Your phone. Turn it back on by holding VOLUME DOWN + POWER . When you are at tri-color (bootloader) release the keys. Connect the phone to PC using usb. Followo the instruction on the application. When it completes it will reboot and will Give you with the MAGLDR bootloader.

Note:- MAGLDR is the boot loader for hd2 that allows you to perform several options like booting NAND or SD , booting recovery and USB flashinf etc..

2.Installing Clockwork Recovery:1. Run the DAF.exe program from the recovery folder Downloaded in step 4 above. 2. [On Mobile] From MAGLDR bootloader select option 5 usb flasher and connect the phone to pc. 3. Read well on the DAF program and follow the on screen Instructions. 4. When it completes device will reboot. 5. It should reboot back to MAGLDR bootloader but if it doesnt then you may need to install radi as same as the recovery. TO Boot to the MAGLDR bootloader recoveryhold the power on button until you get the menu. This is as same as any other clockwork recovery for android Phones.

3.Installing Android to the phone:


1. From MAGLDR bootloader select option 8 [ AD Recovery] 2. You should be in the Clockwork recovery now if its give any error then try installing radio and then clockwork again. 3. Use volume down key to select the 5th option install zip from sdcard hit call key to confirm 4. Now select the android rom that you have Downloaded and hit call. Note do it at your own risk. I shall not be responsible for any damage to your phone. To return back to windows mobile just flash stock ruu from htc site or from xda.

Aaron says: May 24, 2011 at 6:11 am I am trying this for 3 days now, downloaded diff versions but whitout succes. It keeps saying E:cant mount sdcard What am i doing wrong? I do as the guide says. I think im doing something wrong with the sdcard itself. I copy the complete zip file from the android rom to my sdcard. Or do i need to put it unzipped on the sdcard or something? ive allready tryd that to but still cant mount. Hope somebody knows what im doing wrong. Im sick of 6.5 Reply
