The Will of Mufaddel ibn Umar to all the Shia

I advise you to fear Allah, Him alone with no partner to Him, and that you bear witness that there is no God but Allah and that Mohammed is His Servant and Messenger. Fear Allah and say a good saying and seek the delight of Allah and fear His anger and take care of the Sunnah of Allah and do not transgress the boundaries of Allah and be watchful of Allah in all your matters. And be satisfied with His Judgement in that which is for you and upon you and upon you is the commanding of good and forbidding of evil Alas and whoever does good to you, do him more good and forgive whoever does bad to you and do with the people as you like to be done to you. And mix with them with the best of what you are able to and you are more likely not to make upon yourselves a way. Upon you is to become knowledgeable in the religion of Allah and to be god fearing from His forbidden (deeds) and to be a good companion to whoever is in your companionship whether he is pious or immoral. Alas and upon you is to be extremely god fearing for verily the angel of religion is God fearing. Pray the prayers in its times and perform your religious obligations on its limits and do not short come in what Allah has made incumbent upon you and with what He is pleased with For verily I heard Abu Abdullah a.s. (Imam Al Sadiq) say: "Become knowledgeable in the religion of Allah and do not be Arabs of the desert for verily whoever does not become knowledgeable in the religion of Allah, Allah does not look at him on the day of Judgement" And depend upon some of this world for the after life for verily I heard Abu Abdullah a.s. say : "Be dependent upon some of this for this and do not be as such upon the people, be good to all whom you mix with and do good to them" Alas and beware to never be a tyrant/unfair for Abu Abdullah a.s. used to say that the fastest of evils is the punishment for tyranny. Perform what Allah has made obligatory upon you of Prayer and fasting and the rest of the obligatory acts of Allah and pay the obligatory Zakat to its people for verily Abu Abdullah a.s. said "O Mufaddel, tell your companions to place their Zakat with its people and I will guarantee them what went away from them: Upon you is the Wilaya of the family of Mohammed sawas Fix between yourselves and do not backbite one another and visit and love one another and be good to one another and meet and speak and do not withhold from

one another and do not ever sever from one another and do not ever abandon one another. For verily I heard Abu Abdullah a.s. say "By Allah there is not two people of my Shia who split/seperate upon severing ties from one another except that I declare myself innocent of one of them and I curse him and most of the time I do that with both of them. So Muatab said to him "May I be your ransom, that is the wrong doer, what about the one who was wronged?" "I heard my father say that if two of our Shia fight and one of them seperates or abandons the other then the one oppressed should return to his companion until he says to him "O brother I am the oppressor" until the seperation between them is broken, verily Allah is a Just Judge and He takes for the oppressed from the oppressor. And do not despise the poor of the Shia of the family of Mohammed a.s. and be kind to them and give to them from the rights which Allah made for you in your money and be good to them. And do not eat the people by way of the family of Mohammed for verily I heard Abu Abdullah a.s. say 1. "The people became three groups in us, a group which loved us and waited for our Qaim so they may gain from our World so they said and memorized our words and were short comers in our actions and so Allah shall gather them to Hell. 2. And a group which loved us and heard our words and did not short come in our actions so that they could eat from the people by us so Allah shall fill their stomachs with fire and send upon them hunger and thirst. 3. And a group which loved us and kept our words and obeyed our commands and they did not disobey our actions, those are from us and we are from them and do not claim kinship to the family of Mohammed a,s. from your money whoever is rich is by the amount of riches and whoever is poor by the amount of his poverty. So whoever wants Allah to fulfill his most important needs to him let him then connect with the family of Mohammed and their Shia with the most in need of his money and do not be angry of the truth if it is said to you and do not despise the people of truth if they give you a head ache by it for verily the believer does not get angered by the truth if he is given a headache by it. And Abu Abdullah a..s said once while I was with him "O Mufaddel how many are your companions/friends?" So I said "little"

So when he left for Kufa the Shia came forth to me and tore me apart completely, eating my meat and cussing me so much so that if some of them meet me they spit in my face and some of them sat waiting for me in the paths of Al Kufa wanting to hit me and they threw at me with all they had until that reached Abu Abdullah a.s. So when I returned to him in the second year the first thing which he greeted me with after he said Salam was that he said "O Mufaddel, what is this that those have said to you and about you"? I said "What is it to me what they said" He said "Yes, that is actually about them!" "They are angry, woe to them, you said that your companions were few, no by Allah, they are not Shia to us, and if they were Shia they would not have been angered by what you said and they would not have been disgusted by it, Allah has described our Shia by what is different than what they are upon. And the Shia of Jaafar are not except whoever held their tongue and worked for their Lord and pleaded their master and feared Allah the true fearing. Woe to them is there in them who has become bent from so much prayer and become like the lost from so much fear or like the blind from so much humility or like the frail from so much fasting, or like the mute from so much silence and not speaking or is there in them who has spent his whole night in Qiyam prayer or his day in fasting or prohibited himself from the pleasures of this world and its bliss in fear of Allah and in hopes of us, the Ahlul Bayt, that they may be our Shia And verily they do not speak to our enemy in us so that they increase them in hatred and enemity and they growl the growl of the dog and they are greedy the greed of the crow and if it were not for the fact that I am fearful for them that I may seduce them by you. I would have commanded you to go into your house and close your door then not look at them for the rest of your existence but if they come to you then accept from them for verily Allah has made them a proof upon themselves and made them a proof upon other than them. Do not be seduced by the world and what you see in it of its blessings and flowers and delight and kingship for it is not good for you. By Allah it was not good for its people (i.e. the people who get this world and not the next) And All praise due to Allah the Lord of the Worlds and may Allah send his peace and blessings upon my Master Mohammed the Prophet and his purified family This book is written by the help of the King the Giver and all praises to Allah who blessed me with His preference from Him with fixing this valuable compilation and commenting upon it and He granted me success to finish it and that is from His bounty and grace. THE END.
