Conference Dress Code: Opening Dinner Wednesday night Business Suit or equivalent Thursday / Friday conference casual Thursday night dinner Dress in line with the theme: Casino Royale The Conference Venue: All conference functions, including meals, will be located at Novotel Forest Resort. All delegates, sponsors and speakers are able to make use of any of the facilities within the resort for the duration of the conference. Check-out time on Friday by 10.00am. Please ensure that all luggage has been removed from rooms by this time, that keys have been returned to the Front Desk and that any additional costs (ie mini-bar) have been settled. Registration: A registration table will be located at the entrance to the conference facilities. This table will be manned by members of the Executive of FinPro from 4.30pm 6.30pm on Wednesday 29 February, then again on Thursday morning, 1 March from 8.15am until the commencement of the conference at 9.00am. Owen Harvey-Beavis Owen is the Manager of Research and Strategy at the MAV, with responsibility for finance and economic policy issues. Owen has qualifications in public policy and economics. Mark Stoermer Mark Stoermer is the Director for Corporate Business at the City of Melbourne. This Division encompasses six key areas comprising IT, Finance, Legal Services, Property Services, Human Resources and Corporate Planning and Performance. Mark came to the City of Melbourne from the private sector, where he held various senior and executive management roles in the professional services, software and finance industries. Mark holds an MBA from New York University. Denise Bennett Denise supports the City of Melbourne CoMLean Program. From a background in nursing, research and health service leadership, Denise moved into the field of improvement, pioneering the application of Lean Thinking in healthcare and more recently local government. Denise has an international profile amongst Lean Thinking communities and is passionate about improving the way organisations develop their people to deliver customer centric processes. Denise has a Bachelor of Nursing, and an MBA. Laurel Papworth: Named by Marketing Magazine "Head of Industry, Social Media" for Australia, by the Age in the Power150 bloggers globally, and named in Grader.com asthe "most influential 50 women on Twitter", Laurel is the CEO of The Community Crew setting up online communities on forums, Facebook. She has been running virtual online communities since the late 1980's including virtual worlds and forums. Tom Elliot Tom is a director of both Bealah Capital Pty Ltd and MM&E Capital Pty Ltd. Before founding MM&E in 2001 Tom was an Executive director of Investment bank Flinders Capital Limited. He has also worked with stockbroker McIntosh Securities Limited, Canadian investment bank Wood Gundy Inc and retailer Country Road. He holds a Bachelor of Commenrce from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Arts from Exford University (UK). Tom is an experienced financial professional, well known as a media commentator through his work on Melbourne radio stations 3AW, 3RRR and TV appearances on Networks Ten, Nine, Seven and the ABC.

Phu Nguyen Phu Nguyen is the Chief Financial Officer at the City of Melbourne. Having started his career in from private sector, Phu has spent the last 10+ years in government (local and state). Phu is a qualified CPA with a Bachelor in Business (Banking and Finance) and Graduate Diploma in Accounting from Monash University. Matina Jewell Matina Jewell is the kind of soldier every country is proud to have fearless, honourable and highly skilled. A star graduate from the Australian Armys prestigious Royal Military College Duntroon, in the years that followed she had become a highly valued army commander. In her military career she earned eight war medals, tracked militia leaders in the Solomons, fast-roped out of Navy helicopters and boarded smuggler ships in the Arabian Gulf. She also served on operations with the American Navy Seals and Australian Special Forces. In 2006, while part of an unarmed UN peacekeeping team at the border junction of Lebanon, Israel and Syria, Australian Army Major Matina Jewell and her colleagues were caught in a full-scale war with tragic consequences. In the days that followed she and her team-mates reported hundreds of violations of the peace agreement as Israeli artillery, tank fire and aerial bombs, as well as rockets fired by Hezbollah fighters, exploded only metres away and shrapnel rained down around them. But the story does not end there...... Whilst commanding a UN convoy through the war torn Lebanon, Matina was seriously injured (five fractured and crushed vertebrae plus nerve damage and other internal injuries) and had to be evacuated. Meanwhile her team-mates back at the border were attacked by Israeli fighter jets and all were killed. Mattis injuries ended her military career.
