INTRODUCTION

IMPORTANCE OF THE STATEMENT/PROPOSITION solves some problems of the couple (a battered wife; unrevealed knowledge of the partners adultery) avoids further damage (people whose ideas clash is unadvised to live together in one house because the clashing of their ideas would only result to an increase in number of heated arguments among them) BRIEF HISTORY OF THE STATEMENT until just recently, only two countries (Philippines and Malta) in the world did not recognize/legalize the divorce law 2011: government of Malta (like the Philippines, a Christian country) processed the legalization of divorce at present: Philippines is the only country without divorce law DEFINITION OF TERMS Divorce - the dissolution of marriage and the final termination of a marital union; the legal separation, undergoing a number of processes (or procedures), of a married couple Legalized - as in allowed, implemented as a law We then define the motion as that the legalization of divorce in the Philippines is the implementation of a law regarding the legal separation of a married couple, provided that (1)their reasons are valid, i.e., one of them committed adultery, or what not, and provided also that (2)they follow the provided procedures LISTING OF THE ISSUES OF THE DEBATE FIRST ISSUE: on the issue of the arguments of the church <ung iba, kayo na bahala diba? ang suggestion ko...maganda sana kung ung isa sa inyo ung regulation of the law--paano maiimplement? anong branch ng government ang magfafacilitate sa divorce process and procedures? ano ung procedures na kailangan iundergo? ...tapos ung practicability/benefits din--who will benefit? how will this benefit them?>

FIRST ISSUE: arguments of the church

(to proceed with my arguments, i will talk about why divorce should be legalized as opposed to the ideas of the Church... the Church may say that... but we believe that...) arguments of church and its supporters divorce should not be legalized in the Philippines because the Philippines is a country dominated by Christianity our arguments article II section 6 of Philippine constitution: the state and church are separated therefore one cannot interfere with the activities of the other; in this case, the church cannot act as if they are the ones implementing the law, because the Philippine government has a specified branch, the Legislature, to do said job

arguments of church and its supporters the sanctity of marriage should be valued

our arguments at least 2 verses in the book of Matthew from the bible (since we would like to provide our reasons against the arguments of the church, then we will also use the bible--a supposed weapon of the church which rather sides with us) provide us information on the acceptance of divorce as a practice, provided that a member of the married couple commits marital unfaithfulness or sexual immorality (which brings us back to our definition of divorce)

good luck!!! God bless! :)
