A printed visa application form completed online (www.visa4UK.fco.gov.uk). Applicant's birth and family certificates should be certified and legalised by the local Prefecture and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A letter of invitation from your sponsor in the UK. A notarised photocopy of your sponsors passport. If the sponsor is not a British Citizen, the applicant should submit the sponsors immigration status in the UK and a copy of his/her Travel Document (the bio details and conditions/status pages). Evidence of sponsor's financial status, showing detailed bank statements for the last three to six months prior to the application, contract of employment and wage slips for the last 3 months. Evidence of your sponsors tenancy agreement. Evidence of correspondence between the sponsor and the applicant since when they have met for the first time. Correspondence should be presented in the form of letters, faxes, emails between the sponsor and the applicant or photos taken together. If you are employed, you must provide a signed and stamped letter from your employer stating your position, the period you have been working in that position, your monthly salary and authority for leave of absence from work during your visit to the UK. If you are employed, you should submit a letter from the Social Insurance Agency stating how much insurance you pay monthly, your social insurance number and the period you have been paying insurance from. Your personal insurance book should accompany the letter. If you are self-employed you must provide a letter of registration at the Chamber of Commerce or a certified copy of your business license. You should also provide a letter from the Social Insurance Agency stating your companys insurance number and the number of employees your company pays insurance for. If you are student, you should submit a letter from the school/college/University. Evidence of sufficient funds to meet the cost of travel and stay in the UK. If these expenses will be covered by you, provide your detailed personal bank statement for the last 3 months. Any tax documentation if applicable. If you and your sponsor are blood related e.g. son, uncle, cousin, etc you should submit certificates (e.g. birth and family certificates, etc) to prove the claimed relationship. If you are travelling to the UK as a tourist you should submit a confirmed hotel reservation and a confirmation of a ticket travel booking. If you are under 18 years old, you should submit a notarised declaration from parents allowing you to travel in UK. If you will travel with one of your parents only, you should submit a notarised declaration (with a copy of his/her current passport attached) from the other parent allowing you to travel in UK.

An invitation letter from your sponsor in the UK. The invitation letter should be sent to you in original. It is not necessary to send the invitation to the Embassy; you should submit it on the day of the application. The Embassy will not be responsible for the reception and filing of your faxed or e-mailed invitations. Evidence of registration at the event/training course/seminar/workshop, if applicable. The Verbal Note from your institution or any other institution that sponsors your visit to UK. The note should contain the purpose and duration of your travel, your position in the department and sponsorship details. Only the persons who are entitled as signatories should sign the note. A certificate from the local Social Insurance Agency, (accompanied by the SI booklet) stating the social insurance number, the monthly amount of social insurance contributions and the period from when the payment of social insurance contributions has started. Evidence of itemised bank statements, preferably for the last 3 months. Evidence of other current or deposit accounts and/or bank books

Evidence of registration at an event (fair, exhibition), if applicable. Previous correspondence between the company in Albania and the UK counterpart. Evidence of previous business with the company inviting you or any other UK companies (e.g. customs/ transport invoices, bank transactions, etc). Albanian business registration documents, the original and a notarised copy of the original. Evidence of membership with business organisations such as the chamber of commerce, etc. Letter of support from the relevant chamber of commerce. Companys financial documents, consisting of the last three to six months detailed bank statements of the company, tax, income and social insurance payments. Personal detailed bank statements from the applicant, covering a period from three to six months prior to the visa application. A certificate from the local Social Insurance Agency, (accompanied by the SI booklet) stating the social insurance number, the monthly amount of social insurance contributions and the period from when the payment of social insurance contributions has started.

MEDICAL TREATMENT VISIT VISA The immigration rules provide for a person seeking medical treatment in the UK to be admitted as a visitor on the following conditions : The medical treatment is private (fee paying). The applicants is not allowed to work in the UK. The applicant must intend to leave the UK at the end of your period of treatment. Documents required in support of visa application for medical treatment are:

The medical condition requiring consultation or treatment explained by the doctor who has followed your case. A letter from the hospital or the consultant (specialist doctor) in the UK showing that:

Satisfactory arrangements have been made for the necessary consultation or treatment (exact dates and times). The likely duration of the treatment and period of stay in the UK The total estimated costs of such consultations or treatment The kind of treatment or intervention the applicant is undergoing in the UK Sufficient funds available to you in the UK to meet the estimated costs of such consultations or treatment. A bank statement either from the applicant or the sponsor is required to this effect. The detailed bank statement should be for at least the last 3 months. If you are employed, you need a letter from the employer detailing your current employment position and other entitlements (salary, leave, tax, income, etc). If you run your own business, you need to provide business registration documents. Certificates from Social Insurance Agency and the SI booklet should accompany employment letters. If you are a student, you need to provide a letter from your educational institution. If you are under 18 years old and travelling without your parents you must have a notarised declaration from them allowing you to travel/get medical treatment in UK (the same if you travel with one of the parents).

STUDENT VISITOR/CHILD VISITOR/PROSPECTIVE STUDENT VISA Student Visitor, Child Visitor and Prospective Student applications remain outside the PBS route and applicants must meet the same entry clearance requirements as general visitors. Child Visitor: You can apply as a child visitor if you are 17 years old or under and you want to come to the UK to do a course of study for up to 6 months. You will not be able to switch and apply for child student while in the UK. Prospective student entry clearance will help you decide which course to study or if you plan to start a course of study within 6 months. You can switch for an adult or child student while in the UK. Student Visitor: You can apply as a student visitor if you are 18 years old or over, if you want to come to the UK to do a course for up to 6 months and you do not want to work while you are in the UK. The education provider should be a holder of a Sponsor License for T4 of the PBS or should be accredited by a UKBA approved education body. You can not switch for an adult student visa while in the UK. A student visitor must: genuinely seek entry as a student visitor for the limited period that does not exceed six months leave the UK at the end of the visit support and pay for accommodation and any dependants without help from public funds ensure that he/she and his/her dependants will be supported and accommodated by relatives or friends and not take employment be able to meet the cost of the return or the onward journey A student visitor must not take employment in the UK engage in business, produce or sell goods, provide services in the UK study at a government funded school be a child under the age of 18 undertake part time (up to 20 hrs) or full time vacation employment undertake a work placement or internship as part of a course extend his/her stay Documents required in support of a student/child visitor and prospective student visa applications are mainly:

Acceptance letter (Enrolment certificate) from a fee paying school or university in UK containing the following: Cost of course fees and payment vouchers

Details of accommodation and relevant cost if any Course details (hours per week, subjects, etc) Course dates and duration Evidence of sufficient funds to support yourself during your course of studies in the UK. If expenses will be covered either by yourself or your family, the following supporting documents must be submitted: Personal or family bank books. Detailed bank statements for the last 3 to 6 months. If you are sponsored from a person in the UK or elsewhere, provide evidence of the legal status of your sponsor, copy of his/her passport and evidence of their recent or current financial status for the last 3 to 6 months. If you are a student, provide a letter of permission from the current school to continue your studies elsewhere. If you are employed, provide a letter from your employer that you have leave of absence to attend the proposed course of studies. If you are under 18, please provide a certified declaration from parents allowing you to travel/study in UK.

VISIT IN TRANSIT You will need a visa to pass through (transit) the UK on the way to another country if: You are a visa national You are a direct airside transit visa national or, You hold a non-national, including refugee, travel document

If you will be staying in the UK for up to 48 hours before you continue your journey, you will need a Visitor in transit visa. If you want to stay in the UK for longer than 48 hours, you will need to apply for a visit visa. If you want to apply for a visitor in transit visa, you must be able to show that: You have the necessary visa for the country you are travelling to ; You are travelling to a country outside the UK, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man or the Republic of Ireland ; You can and intend to go straight to another country ; You will be allowed entry to that country; and Qualify for entry as a visitor.

Documents in support of a Visitor in transit visa application:

A confirmed hotel booking or other details of accommodation in the UK Evidence of financial status, showing detailed bank statements for the last three months prior to the application. Evidence of sufficient funds to meet the cost of travel and stay in the UK. If these expenses will be covered by you, provide your detailed personal bank statement for the last 3 months. Any tax documentation, if applicable. If you are under 18 years old, you should submit a notarised declaration from parents allowing you to travel in UK. If you will travel with one of your parents only, you should submit a notarised declaration (with a copy of his/her current passport attached) from the other parent allowing you to travel in UK.

Transit Without Visa An IO may decide to let you pass through the UK on your way to another country without holding a visa. This is known as transit without visa (TWOV). It allows you to catch a connecting flight within 24 hrs or, if you are on board a ship, to stay at an UK port for up to 24 hours. You maybe able to transit without visa if you hold one of the following: A valid visa for entry to Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the USA and a valid airline ticket for travel through the UK as part of a journey from another country or territory to the country for which you have the entry visa.

DIRECT AIRSIDE TRANSIT (DATV) VISA DATV nationals are visa nationals who must have a visa to pass through the UK on their way to another country, even if they are not entering the UK or changing airports. Unless they qualify for exemption from the DATV requirement, they can not transit without visa. If you have a DATV, you will not be able to pass through the UK Immigration Control, or collect any luggage on your journey through the UK. You will not usually be allowed to stay in the UK overnight to wait for a connection to continue your journey. If you want to apply for a DATV, you will need to show that; You have booked an onward ticket from the UK for travel within 24 hrs of your arrival; You will not need to change airport in the UK; You have all the correct documents you will need to be allowed to enter the country you are travelling to; and You will not need to pass through the UKs immigration control.

Documents in support of a Direct Airside Transit visa application:

Evidence of correct entry clearance/visa for the country you are travelling to. If you are under 18 years old, you should submit a notarised declaration from parents allowing you to travel through the UK on a DATV visa. If you will travel with one of your parents only, you should submit a notarised declaration (with a copy of his/her current passport attached) from the other parent allowing you to travel in UK. SETTLEMENT (MARRIAGE/SPOUSE/UNMARRIED PARTNER/FAMILY REUNION) VISA APPLICATIONS General rules and Guidance If the sponsor or the applicant is under 21 years old the visa application can be accepted but will automatically be refused. Visa Application as fianc/fiance/unmarried partner

The sponsor (partner) should be settled and present in the UK and there should be no time limit on his/her stay there (He should have Indefinite Leave to Remain). If you have been issued with a marriage visa multiple entry valid for 6 months you will be allowed to stay in the UK for 6 months but you will not have the right to work. When in UK you may seek advice at the nearest Immigration Office or Home Office how to extend your stay in UK.

You must plan to marry within a reasonable time (usually six months) if you are applying as a fiance/fianc. You must be free to marry. You must both plan to live together. You must have met each other. There must be enough financial support. You must have adequate accommodation where you can live or a firm plan for such accommodation.

Visa Application as spouse If you have been issued with a multiple settlement visa as a husband or wife valid for 2 years you have the right to work in the UK. Before your visa expires you may seek advice at the nearest Immigration Office or Home Office on how to extend your stay in UK. You and your husband/wife should be able to support yourselves and any dependants without recourse to public funds. You must have adequate accommodation where you can live or a firm plan for such accommodation. Your Husband/wife should be settled in the UK and there should be no time limit on his/her stay there (he/she should have Indefinite Leave to Remain).

Visa application as Family Reunion The persons qualified in this category are husband, wife and children of the person who has been married before he/she went to the UK. The sponsor in the UK should have Indefinite Leave to Remain as a Refugee issued by the Home Office in the UK. The visa is issued until the passport validity, endorsed as: Family Reunion (Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK). The application is gratis only if the sponsor has been issued ILR in accordance with Immigration Rules. The application will be fee payable if the sponsor has been granted ILR outside Immigration Rules, or is a holder of a British passport or when one of the children is born after the sponsor left Albania. Visa application as fianc/fiance or husband/wife of a European Union citizen resident in the UK (EEA visa applications) In cases when you are engaged, the fianc/fiance should have a Residence Permit issued by the Home Office in the UK. This is a case when a European Union citizen resident in the UK would like to sponsor a non-European citizen with the intention of marrying him/her in the UK. If you are engaged to a European Union citizen, you have to pay the fee. If you are married to a European Union citizen, the application is gratis. The validity of the visa as fianc/fiance or husband/wife is six months. If you are married you are entitled to work, if you are engaged you are not entitled to work. Following is a list of documents you should submit in support of your application:

The applicants and the sponsors birth certificate (if it is an Albanian birth certificate) should be certified and legalised by the local Prefecture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. If you are married in Albania you should present the original marriage certificate stamped by Local Prefecture and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its notarised photocopy. A certified photocopy of your sponsors (partners) passport or Travel Document. Divorce or death certificates of previous wife or husband (if either of you were married before). In cases when the main applicant is divorced and his/her is accompanied by an under 18 child, the applicant is required to submit a certified statement issued by the childrens real parent (applicants ex husband/wife) giving them permission to travel and live in the UK forever. The statement should be accompanied by an identity document (a current passport is preferred). Recent statements or a letter from the sponsors UK employer detailing the job position salary, etc. or a certified photocopy of job contract. The original or certified copies of the sponsors pay slips dating back to the last 3 to 6 months. The original or certified copies of the sponsors bank statements showing the debits and credits for the last 6 months. The original and certified copies of the sponsors other saving accounts.

The original or certified copy of the sponsor s tenancy agreement, mortgage certificates or property deeds. Evidence of correspondence held between you and the sponsor (partner) like itemised phone bills, letters, photos, cards, e-mail etc. If you have been in the UK previously, you should submit proof of your stay there, e.g. Immigration status, IND, refusal notice, appeal etc. Accession documents for the EEA applications in case citizens of EU are subject to this requirement in the UK.

GENERAL ADULT STUDENT INFORMATION (POINTS BASED SYSTEM) New student immigration system From 31 March 2009, Albanian students wishing to study in the UK for more than six months will be able to apply for their visa through Tier 4 of the new streamlined Points Based System Under the new system, Albanian students will need to demonstrate that they have been accepted onto a course of study run by an education institution which is a UK Border Agency (UKBA) licensed sponsor, demonstrate that they have the financial means to support themselves and supply their biometrics details at the Visa Section of the British Embassy, Tirana. General (or Adult) student (18 years old or over) Applicants can apply as adult students if they are going to the UK for further education. Note: 16 and 17 years old students can apply as an adult student if their course is at Level 3 or above within the National Qualification Framework and the course duration is longer than 2 years. Also, if a 16 or 17 year old student wishes to study for an English language qualification within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages level A2 or above, they must apply as adult students. The 16 and 17 years old applicants need to agree with the approved education provider whether they need to apply for an adult or child student visa. The applicant needs 40 points to be able to apply for an adult student visa and must provide the necessary documentation needed with his/her application form Points: What does the applicant get points for Doing a course at an acceptable level with an approved education provider (sponsor). Having sufficient funds to cover his/her course fees and monthly living costs (known as the maintenance)

The passport should be valid for the duration of the course at least. 2 passport sized photographs. Photos should not be older than 6 months and taken against a white/milky white background. A visa letter from the educational institution the applicant is planning to study at. (see note 5/a) Proof of funds (see notes 6/a and 6/b) Evidence of any qualifications the sponsoring educational institution took account of when deciding to offer the student a course place. (see note 7/a) Any other supporting documentation relevant to the application.

5/a Visa letter Every student applicant must have a visa letter issued by an approved licensed education provider (sponsor) before making an application. This is a paper document, which must be an official unconditional offer from the approved education provider (sponsor) to the applicant for the course of study he/she proposes to follow. It must be an original, on letter-headed paper of the licensed sponsor. This must include the original or electronic signature and be dated by an authorised official belonging to the educational institution. The visa letter must be issued no more than 6 months before the date of application. An application, which has a visa letter older than 6 months or where the letter does not include all of the mandatory information, will be refused. Having a visa letter does not guarantee a successful application, as the applicant will still need to show they meet all the immigration rules for the visa category.

6/a Maintenance funds The maintenance amount for the main applicant is calculated at 800 per month if the applicant intends to study in the Inner London Boroughs and 600 per month if the applicant intends to study elsewhere. For courses of up to 9 months duration, the applicant will be required to show that you have the full tuition fee plus the appropriate monthly amount for each month he/she intends to be in the UK. On a course of more than 9 months, the applicant will be required to show that he/she has the first year of the tuition fees plus either 7200 or 5400 depending on whether he/she intends to study inside or outside of the Inner London Boroughs. These amounts must be held in his/her personal bank accounts for a minimum period of 28 days. The end of that 28 days period must not be more than one month before the date of the application. 6/b Proof of availability of money cash in an account in the applicants name (this includes joint accounts with the applicants name); (shares, bonds, pension funds and other similar savings will not be accepted). This should be evidenced in the form of bank statements. a bank loan in the applicants name, or official financial or government sponsorship. The applicant should provide a letter of confirmation from his/her financial sponsor. This may be Her Majestys Government, his/her home Government, the British Council or any International Organisation or University.

7/a Evidence of qualifications original certificates/degrees/diplomas original transcript of results explanation from licensed sponsor how they have assessed the qualifications

Quality of supporting documents The applicant should include originals of all documents specified. They must be on the official letter-headed paper or stationery of the organisation and have the official stamp of the organisation. The applicant should also provide a notarised copy of each document. Where a document is not in English, the original must be accompanied by a fully certified translation by a professional translator (This is a person who is able to produce evidence that a recognised qualification and licence has been obtained in translation). This translation must include details of the translators qualifications and confirmation from the translator that it is an accurate translation of the original document. It must be dated and include the original signature of the translator. If you do not provide the specified documents, the Visa Section will not contact the applicant to ask for them. Therefore, if the applicant fails to submit the correct documents, the Visa Section may refuse the application. The applicant should also provide any information/explanation of the documents submitted as this might assist the Visa Section in its decision making. False documents The submission of false documents will result in a mandatory refusal. An applicant submitting false documents may be banned from going to the UK for 10 years. They may also be refused, if they have previously breached immigration laws in the UK. Right of appeal Outside the UK, a refusal of entry clearance under the PBS does not attract a full right of appeal. However, all applicants can apply for an Administrative Review, which is a mechanism for reviewing refusal decisions. The Administrative Review is free of charge. You must ask for an Administrative Review within 28 days from the date you receive the refusal notice. You must complete the Administrative Review Request Notice and send it directly to the address stated on the Request Notice. You MUST NOT send additional documents with the ARRN. You must request only one Administrative Review for each refusal decision. The Administrative Review will be completed within 28 days and the applicant will be notified of the result in writing. From 31 March 2009, Albanian students wishing to study in the UK for more than six months will be able to apply for their visa through Tier 4 of the new streamlined Points Based System Under the new system, Albanian students will need to demonstrate that they have been accepted onto a course of study run by an education institution which is a UK Border Agency (UKBA) licensed sponsor, demonstrate that their parent(s) or legal guardian have the financial means to support themselves and supply their biometrics details (5 years or older) at the Visa Section of the British Embassy, Tirana.

Child student (4 to 17 years old) Applicants can apply as child students if they are between 4 and 17 years old. If they are between 4 and 15 years old, they should be going to the UK to be educated at an independent fee paying school. All students under 18 years old will need to get their parents or legal guardians written consent to the care arrangements for their travel to, reception and care whilst in the UK, before permission to enter will be given. Documents to be submitted in support of a child student application: NOTES 5/a Visa letter Every student applicant must have a visa letter issued by an approved licensed education provider (sponsor) before making an application. This is a paper document, which must be an official unconditional offer from the approved education provider (sponsor) to the applicant for the course of study he/she proposes to follow. It must be an original, on letter-headed paper of the licensed sponsor. This must include the original or electronic signature and be dated by an authorised official belonging to the educational institution. The visa letter must be issued no more than 6 months before the date of application. An application, which has a visa letter older than 6 months or where the letter does not include all of the mandatory information, will be refused. Having a visa letter does not guarantee a successful application, as the applicant will still need to show they meet all the immigration rules for the visa category. 6/a Maintenance funds A child must have suitable care arrangements in place for their travel, reception and care. The money a child will need depends on their living arrangements in the UK. If the applicant is studying and boarding in a Residential Independent school, they should have sufficient funds to cover tuition fees for one year and boarding fees for one year. If the applicant will be staying in the UK with a resident British citizen or other UK resident, who has entered in a private foster care arrangement with the parent/legal guardian, they should have sufficient funds to cover tuition fees for one year plus the carer will look after and accommodate the child plus 500 per month to cover this up to 9 months, and confirmation that the intended carer is a resident British citizen or other legal UK citizen. The child student must provide a written undertaking letter from the intended carer confirming the care arrangement and a letter from the parent/legal guardian confirming care arrangement. If staying in a private foster care arrangement, the child must provide a copy of the letter of notification from the childs parents, legal guardian or intended carer to the local authority and the local authoritys confirmation of receipt. If the applicant will be staying with a parent/legal guardian, who will be accompanying them to the UK (under 12 years old only), they should have sufficient funds to cover tuition fees for one year and evidence of maintenance/accommodation for parent/legal guardian up to 9 months (800 per month for the parent and 533 for each child up to 9 months). These amounts must be held in the parent(s)/legal guardians personal bank accounts for a minimum period of 28 days. The end of that 28 days period must not be more than one month before the date of the application. 6/b Proof of availability of money cash in an account in the applicants parent(s)/legal guardians or intended cares name; (shares, bonds, pension funds and other similar savings will not be accepted). This should be evidenced in the form of bank statements. a bank loan in the applicants parent/legal guardians name, or official financial or government sponsorship. The applicant should provide a letter of confirmation from his/her financial sponsor. This may be Her Majestys Government, his/her home Government, the British Council or any International Organisation or University.

6/c Letter of consent from the parent/legal guardian Students under 18 years old must provide a letter from the parent or legal guardian when they submit the application form confirming: The relationship between the parent/legal guardian and the child, That the parent/legal guardian have given their consent to the application, That the parent/legal guardian agrees to their living arrangements in the UK, That the parent/legal guardian agrees to the arrangements made for their travel to and reception in the UK. The letter should confirm if the parent or legal guardian has legal custody or sole responsibility for the child. If he/she has sole custody, he/she must sign the letter. If he/she does not, the letter must confirm that each parent or legal guardian agrees to the contents of the letter and must be signed by each parent. 7/a Evidence of qualifications If the applicant is under 16 years old, he/she can provide only the Visa Letter and do not have to provide any other supporting documents. If the applicant is 16 or 17 year old and is applying as a child student, he/she must provide each of the documents used to get his/her Visa Letter from the approved education provider (sponsor) which should include: original certificate of qualification and, original transcript of results explanation from the approved education provider (sponsor) how they have assessed whether the applicant is suitable for the course or not Quality of supporting documents The applicant should include originals of all documents specified. They must be on the official letter-headed paper or stationery of the organisation and have the official stamp of the organisation. The applicant should also provide a notarised copy of each document. Where a document is not in English, the original must be accompanied by a fully certified translation by a professional translator (This is a person who is able to produce evidence that a recognised qualification and licence has been obtained in translation). This translation must include details of the translators qualifications and confirmation from the translator that it is an accurate translation of the original document. It must be dated and include the original signature of the translator. If you do not provide the specified documents, the Visa Section will not contact the applicant to ask for them. Therefore, if the applicant fails to submit the correct documents, the Visa Section may refuse the application. The applicant should also provide any information/explanation of the documents submitted as this might assist the Visa Section in its decision making. False documents The submission of false documents will result in a mandatory refusal. An applicant submitting false documents may be banned from going to the UK for 10 years. They may also be refused, if they have previously breached immigration laws in the UK. Right of appeal

Outside the UK, a refusal of entry clearance under the PBS does not attract a full right of appeal. However, all applicants can apply for an Administrative Review, which is a mechanism for reviewing refusal decisions. The Administrative Review is free of charge. You must ask for an Administrative Review within 28 days from the date you receive the refusal notice. You must complete the Administrative Review Request Notice and send it directly to the address stated on the Request Notice. You MUST NOT send additional documents with the ARRN. T1 POST STUDY WORK (VAF 9, APPENDIX 4) This category is designed to retain international graduates and offer them a chance to work in the United Kingdom.

TIER 2 SKILLED WORKERS (POINTS BASED SYSTEM) The Tier 2 Skilled Workers Scheme was introduced on 27 November 2008. Under this scheme, visa applicants must have both a Sponsor and a Valid Certificate of Sponsorship before applying. The sponsor is an UK based organisation who wishes to employ someone in the UK. In order to sponsor applicants, an employer will need to have registered as a licensed sponsor in the UK. The sponsor will need to meet the requirements for the particular category within the T2 and accept certain responsibilities to help within immigration control. The sponsor will need to assign a Certificate of Sponsorship before the applicant applies for entry clearance. The Certificate of Sponsorship will act as an assurance that the applicant is able to undertake a particular job and intends to do so. The Certificate of Sponsorship is not an actual certificate or a paper document, but it is a virtual document similar to a database record. Each Certificate of Sponsorship has a unique Reference Number and contains information about the job for which the Certificate of Sponsorship is issued, as well as the applicants personal details. Your sponsor may need to provide the applicant with some of the information declared when the Certificate of Sponsorship was issued, e.g. the applicants wage. The Administrative Review is free of charge. You must ask for an Administrative Review within 28 days from the date you receive the refusal notice. You must complete the Administrative Review Request Notice and send it directly to the address stated on the Request Notice. You MUST NOT send additional documents with the ARRN. You must request only one Administrative Review for each refusal decision. The Administrative Review will be completed within 28 days and the applicant will be notified of the result in writing.

TIER 5 TEMPORARY WORKERS (POINTS BASED SYSTEM) The Tier 5 Temporary Workers Scheme was introduced on 27 November 2008. Under this scheme, visa applicants must have both a Sponsor and a Valid Certificate of Sponsorship before applying. The sponsor is an UK based organisation who wishes to employ someone in the UK. In order to sponsor applicants, an employer will need to have registered as a licensed sponsor in the UK. The sponsor will need to meet the requirements for the particular category within the T5 and accept certain responsibilities to help within immigration control. The sponsor will need to assign a Certificate of Sponsorship before the applicant applies for entry clearance. The Certificate of Sponsorship will act as an assurance that the applicant is able to undertake a particular job and intends to do so. The Certificate of Sponsorship is not an actual certificate or a paper document, but it is a virtual document similar to a database record. Each Certificate of Sponsorship has a unique Reference Number and contains information about the job for which the Certificate of Sponsorship is issued, as well as your personal details. Your sponsor may need to provide the applicant with some of the information declared when the Certificate of Sponsorship was issued, e.g. the applicants wage. The applicants must be internationally established at the highest level in his/her sport or art and will make a significant contribution to the development and operation of his/her sport/art in the UK. This category is for migrants to undertake unpaid voluntary work in line with the aims of a sponsor in the UK. If the applicant is going to work temporarily in the UK as a charity worker, he/she should only be doing voluntary activities and not paid work. He/she should intend to carry out fieldwork directly related to the purpose of the sponsoring organisation. This category is for applicants going to the UK through approved schemes that aim to share knowledge, experience and best practise through work placements, whilst experiencing the wider social and cultural setting of the United Kingdom. It cant be used to fill job vacancies or provide a way to bring unskilled labour in the UK. Individual employers and organisations will not be allowed to sponsor migrants, even if they are licensed as sponsors under other tiers or categories of Tier 5. There will be an overarching body to manage the scheme, which will be the sponsor, who will issue Certificates of Sponsorship. Any work the applicant undertakes must be skilled.
