THE LITURGY OF MARRIAGE

Introduction
Commentator: There is a moment in each of our lives when life gains a richer meaning because it is shared. Today, we have come together to celebrate a beginning of a new life which love has revealed a decade ago. Dear friends, LEO & JEASEL have approached lifes greatest crossroads with a lot of faith and a deeply nurtured friendship and love. Let us offer our thanks to God for having led them together in this union. Let us pray that He may bless them and consecrate their commitment to each other. Through this joyous feast of love, let us, as a community, call upon the Lord that LEO & JEASEL may be filled with His grace as they start a new life together. All rise as we welcome Christ in the priesthood of our celebrants Most Rev. Florentino Lavarias, D.D. and Rev. Fr. Ignacio Carlos, and the Wedding Entourage.

INTRODUCTORY RITES
Priest: We are gathered here to celebrate the banquet of life, which Christ has given to us in the Holy Eucharist, and to witness the beginning of a new life for LEO & JEASEL who have come here to pronounce their marriage vows before God, the source of all life and love. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit All: Amen.

Greetings
Priest: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. All: Priest: And also with you. Dear LEO & JEASEL, God who has manifested his love for us in His mysterious ways, has drawn you together today. But He leaves you free to make that love grow or let it wither or die. The Lord will help you forge a future for your love, if you do your share, when you stand to the commitment to love and honor one another in good times and in bad, in poverty and in plenty, in sickness and in health, for better or for worse, this covenant which you are about to seal.

Bride

Dela Cruz Espanta Nuptials Heavenly Father, you have made the bond of servants of the king of the Chaldeans and his marriage a holy mystery, a symbol of Christs love for sons until the kingdom of the Persians came to His church. Hear our prayers for LEO & JEASEL. With power. All this was to fulfill the word of the LORD faith in you and in each other, they pledge their love spoken by Jeremiah: Until the land has retrieved today. May their lives always bear witness to the its lost sabbaths, during all the time it lies waste reality of that love. We ask you this it shall have rest while seventy years are fulfilled. In the first year of Cyrus, king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the LORD spoken by Jeremiah, the LORD inspired King Cyrus of Persia to issue this proclamation

through Christ our Lord, your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. All: Amen.

Commentator: With open hearts and open minds, we now listen to the Word of God.

Early and often did the LORD, the God of their fathers, send his messengers to them, for he had compassion on his people and his dwelling place. But they mocked the messengers of God, despised his warnings, and scoffed at his prophets, until the anger of the LORD against his people was so inflamed that there was no remedy. Their enemies burnt the house of God, tore down the walls of Jerusalem, set all its palaces afire, and destroyed all its precious objects. Those who escaped the sword were carried captive to Babylon, where they became

Second Reading:

All:

Glory to you O Lord.

A reading from the letter of Paul to the Ephesians (2:

Priest: Jesus said to Nicodemus: Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him will not be condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the verdict, that the light came into the world, but people preferred darkness to light, because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come toward the light, so that his works might not be exposed. But whoever lives the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God.

Brothers and sisters: God, who is rich in mercy, because of the great love he had for us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, brought us to life with Christ - by grace you have been saved raised us up with him, and seated us with him in the heavens in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from you; it is the gift of God; it is not from works, so no one may boast. For we are his handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for the good works that God has prepared in advance, that we should live in them. The Word of the Lord.

Dela Cruz Espanta Nuptials The Gospel of the Lord. All: Praise to you Lord, Jesus Christ. Please be seated as we listen to the Priest:

MARRIAGE RITES

Homily
LIGHTING OF THE UNITY CANDLE
Commentator: At this point, LEO & JEASEL will light their Unity Candle as a symbol of their marriage. The candles that they will light represent each of them in the fullness of their personhood. They come into this marriage as individuals, without losing their identities. Rather they create through their commitment the relationship of marriage. Therefore, this burning candle symbolizes their commitment to each other and to a lasting and loving marriage."

Lighting of the Candles

Commentator: Please remain seated for the Marriage Rites.
(The candle sponsors Janus and Ellaine may now light the wedding candles from the flame of the Unity Candle.)

The candles flame reminds us of gods presence among us from whom alone can we obtain abiding faith. May this light always guide LEO & JEASEL towards the life of marital love, loyalty and obedience to the Lords will.

Priest:

"On the day of their baptism, God began in LEO and JEASEL the process of becoming a Christians. They were given the privilege of being a light, an example to the people they would meet. Their process of becoming Christians continues today. A new dimension is added as they celebrate the Sacrament of Matrimony. Today they come here from two different families. Out of these two families, a new family will be created in the Lord. At this point, I would like to invite the parents of LEO and JEASEL to come forward and light the individual candles which represent the two separate families who present their son and daughter to the Lord in the Sacrament of Matrimony. The two individual flames, one representing each family, will demonstrate to us in a very beautiful way the symbol of two who become one.

May we ask the parents and the Principal Sponsors to kindly come forward and stand beside the couple to act as witnesses in this ceremony. Priest: LEO & JEASEL, you have come together in this Church so that the Lord may seal and strengthen your love in the presence of the Churchs ministers and this community Christ abundantly blesses with His love. He has already consecrated you in Baptism and now, He enriches and strengthens you more by a special sacrament that you may assume the duties of marriage in mutual and lasting fidelity. I assure you of the prayers of our community that God may pour abundant blessings on your love and help you carry out the duties of married life. And you, dear sponsors, parents, brothers, sisters, relatives, and friends of LEO & JEASEL, may I ask you

Blessing and Exchange of Rings

Commentator: The rings symbolize love in all its aspects of creation. They represent permanence in the midst of the changing circumstances of times: beauty, when there is misunderstanding and conflict; fidelity, when there is an absence of order, sincerity and trust.

We thank you for your confidence in us, and we accept our responsibility to be your guardians and advisers. Priest: LEO & JEASEL, you have declared your consent before the Church. May the Lord, in His goodness, strengthen your consent and fill you both in His blessings.
