WORK EXPERIENCE (I) Suba Green Forest Initiative- Trust Designation: Project coordinator Gwasi Hills Conservation Association (GHFCA) Duration: January- Date Responsibilities: oversee planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the protection and rehabilitation of Gwasi Hills Forest Reserve in liaison with chair person Gwassi Hills Forest Conservation Association and Programme Team Leader (GFSIT) Tasks: Facilitate a comprehensive inventory of bio physical Resources in order to identify conservation, rehabilitation and sustainable utilization need for Gwassi Hills Forest reserve. Facilitate training of CFA members on forest act 2005, water and Agricultural Act and major policy developments affecting environmental conservation in liaison with Kenya Forest Service. Facilitate training of CFA on organizational arrangements and participatory frameworks as envisaged in the forest act 2005 and use the same guidelines to strengthen Gwassi Hills Forest Conservation Association Facilitate the CFA to plan, implement, monitor and evaluate education / sensitization of forest adjoining communities on their roles in the protection and utilization of Gwassi hills forest reserve and document and outcomes of the meetings Facilitate sensitization /education of local communities on the benefits of bee keeping, social tree farming and other GFSI promoted projects in liaison with relevant GFSIT extension staff Facilitate review and completion of Gwassi Hills Forest Management plan in liaison with the chair person of Gwassi Hills Forest Conservation Association Support the CFA to develop an informative organizational profile as a marketing tool. Facilitate the CFA to organize the annual leaders meeting to share progress on the protection and rehabilitation of Gwasi Hills Forest Reserve Map and Engage local leaders involved in lobbying and advocacy for Environmental conservation.
