Objective

To understand the importance of ministry, and to understand what is unrighteous living.

Summary
The book of Romans was written by Paul while he resided in the city of Corinth. In the first Chapter of Romans, Paul talks about how he wishes he could make it to Rome in order to minister to them. Through this letter he wrote to the Romans, he starts off by discussing ministry and what unrighteous living.

Outline
I. The Greeting (v. 1-2) a) b) c) d) e) f) Who wrote the book of Romans? What does it mean to be a bond servant of Christ? What do you think it looks like to be a servant of Christ? How does it feel to be a servant of Christ? What is Paul called to do? What did God promise in advance? Why is it important to know when God made this promise?

II. Following Jesus (v. 3-7) a) b) c) d) Who is Jesus a descendant of? Why is this important to know? Who is the saint of holiness? What are the gifts Paul received from Christ? Why was he given these gifts?

III. Gratitude (v. 8-12) a) b) c) d) e) Why is Paul grateful? What has Paul been praying for? Why has Paul been praying for this? What is his goal in ministering to Rome? What gift does he want to give the Romans?

IV. What is Ministry? (v. 13-15) a) Define ministry. b) What is Paul's obligation or duty? V. Living by Faith (v. 16-17) a) Why is Paul not ashamed of the gospel? b) What is the ACTION we need to take in order to receive salvation? c) Define faith. VI. God's Anger Towards Unrighteousness (v. 18-32) a) b) c) d) e) f) g) h) i) j) Who does God reveal His wrath to? (3 things) What has God made known to them? Who understands who God is? Why does God reveal himself to us? Why do the unrighteous not glorify God? What did they profess? What did they become? How did they change the image of God? What does God do when we disobey Him? Why does He do this? How was their mind effected? What is considered unrighteous? Look up each word in your dictionary and discuss or journal what they mean. k) In v. 32 it is very clear that the people referenced in v.29-31 already obtain the knowledge of Christ but still approve of unrighteous behavior. Not only that, but they approve of others who practice this as well. What does v. 32 say they are deserving of?

Additional Discussion Topic: Talk about what's right and wrong according to Romans Chapter 1. Then replace the word right with helpful and wrong with harmful. Does this help open up the eyes as to WHY God disapproves certain behavior?
