THIKA MINEPLATE
ARMETs THIKA MINEPLATE blast protection has been tested to meet the requirements as set out in the NATO STANAG regulation 4569 Levels 1 to 3 With a layered thickness of 12mm and weighing 19.5kg Per square meter, THIKA MINEPLATE will defeat 600 grams of C4 or SEMTEX (RDX & PETN) plastic explosive at a point blank range. When standoff distance is increased, or a thicker layer of THIKA MINEPLATE is added as additional protection, a stronger charge of PEX or blast material will be defeated. An estimate of the amount of increased protection can only be performed after taking into account many variables including, at what position underneath or at the side of the vehicle that the device explodes, the weight of the vehicle, the height of its deck pan off the ground and the thickness of THIKA MINEPLATE installed within or underneath the vehicle.

BALKAN
The BALKAN has a typical SUV configuration of four side doors and a double rear cargo-crew exit door and carries a total crew complement of up to ten. Mounted on the Ford F550 Commercial chassis, repair and spare parts are available throughout the worldwide Ford Motor Company network. The Balkan is armored to the NATO Stanag 4569 level 3 which exceeds the CEN European B7 armor level. With its hollow cavity walls filled with THIKA MINEPLATE blast protective materials, the side armor provides excellent protection against side load IEDs. In addition to its frontal armor, the firewall is a second armored wall that further protects the driver and front passenger from a frontal attack. As well as the foregoing, the floor is protected from blast and even with this superior armored protection, the payload after armoring is still in excess of 2000kg (4400lbs)

TROOPER
For a less military look the armored Trooper has the general appearance of a civilian ambulance and yet is still suitable for the Police or border patrol role. With four side doors and double rear entry doors, the crew of ten has excellent interior comfort and the ability to effect a rapid dismount, even when fully equipped and clothed in the tactical role. The Trooper may be armored up to to the European B7 armor level, and if necessary, blast protective materials can be inserted into the hollow cavity walls.

CASH IN TRANSIT
With an armoring weight of 3.85 lbs per square foot to protect to the NIJ level 111a, Armets composite armor used in its cash in transit vans and Cut away cabs, gives at a minimum, a 30% weight reduction over the weight of armored vehicles protected with steel. The cost of composite armoring is approximately 15% higher than a van or truck armored with steel. The huge weight saving in an Armet van will save the user considerably on wear and tear of vehicle drive train, tires, springs, shocks, front ends and just as importantly, fuel. Many types of North American, European and Japanese vans and light trucks are suitable for armoring and are more useful when lightly armored for the transportation of cash and ATM operations.

ARMORED AMBULANCES
Armored ambulances give police and emergency service personnel critical survivability in a crises situation with enhanced crew protection, improved communications and CBRN protection. Provides evacuated casualties on board medical treatment in an interior designed for civilian or military personnel. The interior medical capability includes on board oxygen, suction unit, storage of essential medical items and equipment, and the capacity to carry four litter patients and a crew of two.

TILT CAB
Tilt cabs, with high payload capacity are ideal for use for the Police, Military and cash in transit industry. Suitable chassis are available from MAN in Germany, FORD USA and Canada, IVECO of Italy and Mitsubishi and Isuzu from Japan. Vehicles may be armored to meet the NATO stanag 4569 level 3. (CEN Euronorm B7) Blast protection using THIKA MINEPLATE may be installed in the hollow cavity walls.

SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES

With its traditional SUV configuration of four side doors and a single rear luggage door, the armored SUV carries a passenger complement of between five and eight passengers. Most armored SUVs can be armored to the CEN European B7 armor level. Civilian armored vehicles are often required to defeat the blast of two German DM51 or two US M67 anti-personnel grenades. Armets THIKA MINEPLATE easily defeats both of these devices and was certified by the US military at TACOM on October 31, 2000 to defeat the M67 grenade. THIKA MINEPLATE is installed in the floor of all of SUVs armored by Armet.

Automobiles have obvious payload restrictions, but can still be armored to defeat high level armored piercing rounds. Consideration must be given to the application or region where the vehicle may be driven and the threat in that particular region. If the threat is solely ballistics, then light weight composite armor may be used, but when there is a threat of side blast, consideration should be given to the use of high hard steel armor.
