Jane Doe Period # Date Basic Class Rules: 1. Be IN your seat before bell rings. 2. No talking while I am talking. 3. Raise your hand to ask a question. 4. Be Respectful. 5. Be Prepared (bring notebook, pencil, HW, etc.) 6. Keep your area clean. Procedures: Turning Work In ALL work turned in will have a heading in the upper right corner just like a have done above. Be sure to write your first and last names, period you have me, and the date the assignment was given. Work turned in during class should be turned in to the appropriate periods bin in the back of my classroom. Graded work will be placed in separate tray to the appropriate periods bin. It is your responsibility to get your graded work before class, after class, etc. Absences Please dont be absent unless you have to be. All students who are absent, should visit the counseling office the morning upon returning to get an admit slip. This is to be put in the small BLUE basket on my desk. I will check it with the computer and put back into tray before class if over. Students are responsible for collecting signed absentee slip when closing bell rings. All missed work during excused absences will be given to you before the end of the period. Additional Handouts If an additional handout is needed, please see the PURPLE tray in the back of the classroom marked EXTRA HANDOUTS. Make-Up Tests If you miss a test, it is YOUR responsibility to schedule a time to take the missed test. Good times to make up tests are during contact time (Fridays only), after school in ESS, or a prearranged time schedule with me. Restroom Breaks RememberRR breaks are a privilege! Always take the Room #22 pass to avoid being written up in the hallway. A student should only ask to use the RR during class if it is an emergency. There will be NO frequent RR breaks unless you have a medical condition. If you have a medical condition, please let LCHS as well as myself know ASAP. Analyze complexity of text (ie. Characters, events, conflicts, etc.) Assess how POV or purpose shapes content/style of textcultural experience Compare two text of sim themes/authors approach Analyze authors choices of plot, order of events, manipulations of time, tension. Conduct research, evaluating credibility of sources, etc. Assessing credibility & accuracy of sources, integrating meaningful sources, ID plagiarism, citations, etc. Draw evidence from Lit or Info sources to support analysis, reflection, and research. Using tech to publish findings. Make strategic use of digital media and visual displays of data to express info and enhance understanding. Presenting info to listeners, awareness of audience, appropriateness and clarity of presentation Integrating multiple sources of media or formats , evaluating sources for credibility. Read and comprehend LIT NF at high end of grade 9 range w/scaffolding. Read & comprehend LIT stories, dramas, poems, at high end grade 9 range with scaffolding.
