About the Farmington Democrats

Vision
The Farmington Democratic Committee is the representative body for all registered Democrats in the Town of Farmington NH, all of whom make up its membership. The Committee advocates and promotes progressive legislation and the election of local, state, and national officials who support social and economic progress and the equality of opportunity for all our citizens. Our online and local presence not only provides political, economic, and social information for the citizens of Farmington, but also encourages progressive movements in these areas at all levels of government. Through community involvement, political action, and a shared vision, we seek to expand equity and opportunity for all residents of the Town of Farmington. We firmly believe that equity of opportunity can only be achieved through progressive change that will advance our society towards shared values that promote understanding, education, acceptance, and equality.

Action
The Committee meets monthly on the second Thursday of the month at the Recreation Center. We are involved in a variety of community projects that promote the betterment of Farmington and provide opportunities for all its citizens. We maintain an active website, promoting upcoming events and issues in progressive thought and action. Members are also involved in the Strafford County Democratic Committee, seeking to advance our vision and message of equity of opportunity throughout New Hampshire and our nation.

Community
We support and maintain the Adopt-a-Spot at the intersection of Route 11 and Spring Street. Hope you enjoy our attempt to beautify our Community. The Committee is also in the progress of sponsoring a Farmington Community Garden, which will be open to all Farmington Residents in the coming months. With the full support of our Board of Selectman, we are now in the initial planning and development stages of the project. Regular Meetings are held at 7:00 PM on the second Thursday of each month at the Farmington Recreation Center (Old Town Hall). Come join us. All are welcome.

Forum Program
Forum Moderator
Leo Lessard, Strafford County Register Of Deeds, former State Senator, and Moderator for the Town of Milton will act as Moderator for the Congressional Candidates Forum. The Farmington Democrats are delighted that Mr. Lessard will moderate the Forum. He has served the public in different capacities for many years and at one time was the highest-ranking elected Democratic office-holder in the state. He is well-known for his commitment to the principles of the Democratic Party and for his fairness, and impartiality. Mr. Lessard will ensure that the Forum will provide the greatest possible opportunity for members of the public to learn about the candidates who are seeking office to serve in Congress for people of the First District of New Hampshire.

Each candidate will begin with a two minute introduction. Following the introductions, there will be a question and answer period. Questions will be taken from the audience by the moderator. Each candidate will have 90 seconds to answer the question. Candidates will rotate positions in the forum for each question. Following the questions, each candidate will have 2 minutes to make a concluding statement.
