Statement Compliance with Remark We offer 1 (one) unit Caterpillar model 140K motor grader, which is equipped with tandem driven, tandem drive, high profile ROPS cab, direct drive power shift transmission, hydraulically operated blade with side shift and tip, self propelled and powered by turbocharged, water-cooled Cat ACERT diesel engine. The offered Caterpillar model 140K motor grader is current standard model in production, which will be manufactured on placement of order. This model (140K) is built on the strong heritage of the H version of Caterpillar motor graders. The H series has been in successful use for many years all over the world including Ethiopia and have proven performance. The current 140K continues this tradition and delivers multiple breakthroughs.

Service Requirement (Operating Conditions) The equipment to be supplied shall be of extra heavy duty and tropical type capable enough to render trouble free service in Ethiopia, where the following climatic, altitude and temperature variations shall be experienced. The equipment to be supplied shall be tropicalized, reliable and dependable for operation under the conditions specified in the service requirement. Materials The materials of which all parts, attachment, accessories and components of the unit bid upon which are manufactured and assembled shall be of the currently technology durable and reliable for the intended service. The finish shall be of high quality and good workmanship with dependable operation. Failure to do this might result in rejection of bid. The words comply, satisfy, or yes or similar words alone may not be adequate response to the requirement of the specification where it is expected to respond in figures, in words or in clear terms and shall be supported by technical brochures. The company original technical booklet, leaflet or brochure shall be provided with the offer/bid. The foot of each page of the

The manufacturer/supplier shall then guarantee to repair or replace any part that may break or fail in any manner under the use and conditions herein described, by reasons of inferior material or defective material and/or workmanship for a warranty period covering at least 12 months or 2000hrs of operation which ever comes first from the date of receipt of the unit at the final destination. The manufacturer/supplier shall bear all costs of the warranty repair/replacement up to the final destination and/or work site, which shall comprise of labor cost, parts

2.Engine 2.1 General o The diesel engine shall perform smoothly and efficiently under all conditions of operation described above & shall develop the rated horsepower when operating on commercial diesel fuel with sulfur content of 1% and cetane number of 50.

The offered Caterpillar model 140K motor grader is powered by Cat C7 ACERT Technology engine with engine power management (EPM) system performs smoothly and efficiently under all conditions of operation described and develops the rated horsepower when operating on commercial diesel fuel of locally available with a sulphur content of 1% and cetane number of 50. The Cat C7 engine is four stroke cycle, water cooled, direct injection, diesel, turbo charged, after cooled. It has 6 inline cylinders with replaceable wet type cylinder sleeves/liners.

2.2 Type o The engine shall be four stroke cycle, water cooled, direct injection, diesel, turbo charged, preferably after cooled, with not less than 6 cylinders & shall be equipped with replaceable wet type cylinder sleeves/liners. 2.3 Horsepower o The engine shall deliver the minimum 185HP net at fly wheel at rated RPM, equipped with fuel pump, water pump, cooling fan, heavy duty radiator, lubricating oil pump, air cleaner, alternator, hydraulic pump & any required engine accessories. 2.4 Required Engine Data o The manufacturer shall submit certified engine data according to SAE standard with his bid showing net power, torque and specific fuel consumption curves, at governed RPM, at sea level and 2500m elevations.
