NEW HT CONNECTION

Contract : Demand and Voltage levels 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) Load Demand Below 1000 KVA to be supplied 11 KV Level. Load Demand 1000 KV A and above to be supplied at 11 KV /22 KV level. Load Demand 1500 KVA and above to be supplied at 33 KV level, Load Demand 5000 KVA and above to be supplied at EHV level. Inspection of HT consumer Installation. Before releasing HT Connection, installation to be checked a) Below 1 MVA Contract Demand - EE (T esting) and EE (0 & M) b) 1 MVA and above - SE (T esting) and SE (0 & M) c) HT Consumers Fed at EHV - SE (T esting) SE (0 & M) and C.E. (Zone) 6) Load T est : T be carried out immediately after releasing HTConnection. Load Current in the meter should be o cross checked with consumer L.T Current Consumption recorded by meter to be compared with . ZERA Kit. Also Consumption to be compared with theoretical calculation with following formula. KWH = 3 VI cos Hrs. Two connections in one Premises Not allowed : T Connection in one name and in one premises for the same purpose should not be given. wo Installation of Meter : The Meter should be installed on ground floor at frontage to the building only So that the Meter . Should be available for reading even when the premises is locked. Height of the meter should be at eye level. Meter Box Height. = Upper edge does not go beyond 1.75 meter and Lower edge should Not be below 1.2 meters from the ground. Access to Premises and Apparatus : Authorised employees of MSEDCL are entitled to enter upon the premises of the consumer for inspecting, reading meters and other purpose connected with appratus belonging to MSEDCL.

10) Metering Room or closed shade : Size 4 Mtr for Metering Kiosk should be provided. . 11) Point of Supply : It should be got approved from SE/EE T esting & SE/EE (0 & M) Jointly and must be near to gate. It should be decided before estimate. Once finalised & Fixed same should not be changed. 12) Earth Pits : No. Earth Pits are required for HT Metering cubicle which needs to be meshed. 13) LAs on Incoming line must be provided separate Earthing pits for LAs are must. 14) In consumer premises, incoming HT Cable upto HT Cubicle should be brought through open Cable trench. 15) All whole near Inlet/Outlet of HT Cable must be closed properly by using M-seal / Epoxy Compound. 16) Good Quality Static Ammeter and Voltmeter to be installed on LT Side Incomer Panel to record all 3 ph. currents and voltages during testing. 17) HT Cubical, CT PT TOD Meter and consumers T/F must be got tested from T s, s esting Division - Date ofT esting should be painted on equipments. 1

18) Harmonics generating Steel Industry Foundry or any other Composite. Industry must be asked for , harmonics measurements and test certificate must be submitted within 30 days after Commissioning. 19) Detailsof Consumer i.e. C.D., C.L, Date of release, CTR/PTR connected M.F should be painted on . front door of HT Cubical. 20) Except Metering all other HTILT lines, if existing in consumers premises should be shifted/removed before releasing HT Connection. 21) All HT / LT existing connections in the same premises should be released in one premises. 22) Daily Energy and Maximum Demand record must be maintained by the consumer in G-7 form. 23) Specifications of metering Equipments (As per Departmental Cir No. 484) . i) CT Specification - Confirming to IS. II) CT Ratio = Commensurate with contract Demand iii) Secondary current = 5 or 1 Amp (As per meter rating) iv) Accuracy Class = 0.2 for EHV Consumers. 0.5 for all other HT connections. v) Burden = 10 VA vi) PT Specifications - Confirming to IS a) PT Ratio = Depending on supply Voltage level. b) Secondary Voltage = 110Volts A.C. c) Class of Accuracy = 0.2 for EHV lines = 0.5 in case of other voltage d) Burden= 100 VA vii) Metering Cables - 2.5 Sq. mm, armoured multistrand 24) No fuses will be provided in P . Circuit. .T 25) T ack welding and proper sealing to be done at the time of release of supply . 26) Summation of CT should be avoided. s GUIDE LINES FOR RELEASING H.T. METERING CONNECTION (Ref. Lr No. CE/Dist /HT Metering unit 122222 Dated 21/05/2008) . 1) The H.T Metering connection should be released as per the provisions made under IE Rules 1956 . Rule 58 . The Isolating device should be provided for disconnecting the Power supply to the consumers installation as per rule no. 50 (1) (A) The Power cable in the consumers premises should be mechanically safe and it should be laid as per approved method.
