distanCe learning
Distance Learning is one of our most popular programmes and we have three flexible Distance Learning study options: Distance Learning I which provides 12 months support. Distance Learning II which provides support for 24 months and includes taught revision seminars. World Service option for delegates studying outside the UK. We have had Distance Learning delegates from all over the UK and from over 100 different countries around the world. One of the key benefits of distance learning is the flexibility. You can start when you want, choose when and where you study, and set your own pace. If you want to complete your course quickly you can have tutor support at the same time for as many modules as you need. If work or other pressures mean you need to slow your studies down you can extend your support and even upgrade to attend taught sessions. We have a specialist Distance Learning Course Director, kiran kapur, who will help you get started on your studies, work out a personal study plan with you, be there to answer questions and help you keep your studies on track. In addition all three options include: specialist tutor support for each module - our tutors are practising marketing professionals who bring current business experience and proven teaching skills to our courses. Many are Chartered Marketers and they consistently deliver excellent pass rates. There is no limit on the number of times you may contact your tutor by email. study guides on Cd-rom using Adobe Acrobat software allowing onscreen reading, highlighting, and annotation - making them a truly portable resource. The Guides include links to the syllabus, reading references, self-test exercises, real life examples and assignments to be completed and marked by your tutor. Feedback from your tutor will help you monitor your progress and see how you can improve your assignment or exam technique. text books for all UK based delegates, delivered to the workplace so that you do not have to spend time and resources finding the right materials. Recommended reading lists are provided for World Service delegates to access locally to keep their courier costs to a minimum. on-line support the CMC Learning Zone see pages 6 & 7 A key benefit of studying by Distance Learning with us is that we also teach courses throughout the year. If you want additional tuition and are able to travel to one of our study centres you can upgrade and attend taught sessions for all or some of your modules or attend revision classes for extra support prior to exams. Alternatively, if you know from the outset that you would like some taught support then you can select the supported open learning option on the application form, and choose the two modules for which you would like to attend taught sessions.
Hi Kiran Ive had my results today, two Bs, which is great.......Thank you for all your help throughout the course, all of the tutors have been so helpful whilst completing assignments and the feedback has been so useful. I have been associated with the founder, Charles Nixon, the Directors and Faculty of Cambridge Marketing Colleges since it was founded over 20 years ago. Throughout this period I have been so impressed with the quality of their teaching and their total commitment to their students and delegates, that I was delighted to accept their invitation to become Academic Advisor, a role I take very seriously. As a Professor at Cranfield, Henley, Warwick, Aston and Bradford Business Schools, as well as being Vice-Dean of CIMs Academic Senate, I keep fully abreast of the latest developments in marketing practice and education and I have no hesitation in recommending CMC to anyone interested in furthering their career in marketing. A fantastic success story. A deserved market leader - I mean every word! Emeritus Professor Malcolm McDonald

The CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing has been brilliant for my career and future opportunities. As well as making me a more capable and confident marketer, it has served to demonstrate my value at work; even by the half-way point in the diploma! The diploma has given me expectations of my next role that would not be justified without it. I think the course and study method was spot on for my circumstances; I was able to give it my all, had some great tutors and actually enjoyed it! The group dynamic has been great sharing our experiences has opened us to perspectives from outside our own industries and has given us all valuable insights for both the assignments and our working practice generally. The different contexts have made the theoretical aspects much easier to grasp. The range of experience brought to the sessions by tutors and fellow students alike has been invaluable! This is a great course, get it under your belt.

evening programme
The Evening Programme allows delegates to study their chosen course one evening a week and complete within 12 months and is only available in Cambridge. However, if you want to study at a faster pace you can attend a second evening a week and complete in 6 months. In recognition of this, we allow delegates the freedom to vary their attendance between one and two evenings a week at will. Providing you inform the College there is no additional charge. Please see the separate datasheet at the back of the brochure for Evening Programme timetables. In addition to the CMC Study Package the Evening Programme provides: 8 evening classes per module between 6 and 8pm. Coffee and light refreshments at each class. Revision courses for those taking exams. Exam technique sessions and assignment briefings. Study support for up to 24 months. Delegates may occasionally find that work demands mean attendance at classes every week becomes a problem. In such circumstances, delegates can opt to take modules by Distance Learning or the Executive Programme reducing attendance to a minimum. Delegates should allocate between 2 and 4 hours per module for home study each week for the duration of the course.
in-house programme
For committed organisations we can establish a Marketing College on your site with a resource centre and dedicated visiting tutors to deliver in-company training to meet your specific requirements. We can deliver any of the mainstream or specialist CIM, CAM and CIPR programmes that we offer, leading to a recognised professional qualification. This includes our specialist pathways for Agri and Rural Businesses and the Arts, B2B, Charities, Pharmaceutical, Professional Services and Sports sectors; and our one day short courses including an Introduction to Marketing, and Marketing for SMEs. We are open to your requirements.
The course has given me more confidence to rely on my own abilities and decision making. At the same time I am able to draw on a reserve of marketing tools and knowledge when needed. It has allowed me to show a concrete commitment to marketing and has enabled a significant career change with my current employer. Studying through evening classes ensured that I remained motivated and guaranteed that I allocated time to my studies. In addition it was good to share discussions and network with the other students. I most enjoyed discussing real life examples and also preparing the case study on a specific industry for the exam. What most stood out for me on the course was the range of support mechanisms offered by the college: Webinars, online resources, revision sessions, one-ones with tutors et cetera. Administrative support offered by Shane has been efficient, helpful - and above all friendly. The Professional Diploma course has given me the confidence that I know what I am talking about. I was recently promoted and would never have got this position, at this stage in my career, without the qualification. The tutors were really helpful, whilst clearly busy during the day, made time for help via email, plus also before and after the sessions. Also I came to see Charles one day who gave me 20 minutes or so to run over my work so far. The administrative support was excellent, very helpful and friendly, no problems at all. I really enjoyed being able to apply the teaching to my work environment. Too often in my degree we had made up case studies, plus also I had no experience of a working environment. It also gave me something great and focussed to put onto my CV. Nick Mann, Sales and Marketing Programmes Manager, University of Cambridge

COURSE CONTENT Stage I has four modules and will give you the Professional Postgraduate Diploma: EMERGING THEMES In this module delegates will critically evaluate the impact of a range of new and emerging themes on marketing, business organisations and the changing marketing environment. By the end of the module, delegates will be able to demonstrate an ability to recognise the strategic importance of key themes, and to consider how best to take them into account when developing and implementing marketing strategies. Finally, delegates will have established strategies and mechanisms for anticipating future trends and emerging themes. Assessed by Assignment
ANALYSIS & DECISION This module prepares delegates to undertake a strategic audit of the organisation in order to assess its ability to deliver its business and marketing strategy, and to make strategic choices and decisions based on that audit within the context of a dynamic global market place. The module focuses on the tools for strategic decision making of this type including financial and risk analysis for each decision. Assessed by Case Study based Exam MARKETING LEADERSHIP & PLANNING The focus of this module is on developing and delivering strategic marketing plans to support the organisations value proposition (not just the marketing function). In order to deliver effective plans, delegates must recognise the need
to deliver sophisticated change management programmes. This will require delegates to consider the reasons for change and the types of change management plans that should be put in place. Delegates will demonstrate an understanding of the leadership issues required to execute such change. Assessed by Assignment MANAGING CORPORATE REPUTATION This module looks at the nature and characteristics of reputation management, and at managing the dimensions of an organisations reputation. It also examines the methods of developing effective corporate communications. Assessed by Assignment

momentum on a plan to reach those goals, whilst improving your personal awareness, recognising your impact and enhancing your self-confidence. The advanced certificate has given me a fantastic grounding in PR. It is really important to understand the theory and history behind PR practice whilst in the early stages of your career, and the Advanced Certificate was the perfect vehicle to do so. The level of support received from my tutor and course leader was exceptional and it has been a truly rewarding experience that will no doubt benefit me in the future. Rebecca Gould, Account Executive, Petersens Ltd
