The purpose of this research is to apply the finite element method for dynamic analysis of Timoshenko beams traversed by moving loads. The shear effect and rotary inertia were included for the analysis of short, sturdy beams and structures with higher modes being excited. This research will be applicable to dynamic analysis of bridges and rail roads subjected to moving vehicle loads, high speed machining, and structures supporting high speed moving objects, etc.
