To locally install the stand-alone operator display: 1. Unsnap the plastic back panel from the display module. 2. Disconnect the operator display cable from the display connector in the display module.

Local Installation Using the Operator Display Cable

Installation Instructions

Before starting local installation, verify that the location will accommodate the dimensional size of the stand-alone operator display as shown in Figure 1.

3. Using the back panel as a template, mark the position of the four mounting holes on the mounting surface. (Refer to Figure 2 on panel 3.) 4. Set the back panel aside and drill holes for #8 (4 mm) screws or #8 wall anchors.

5. Secure the back panel to the wall with #8 (4 mm) mounting screws.
Note: Screws are not supplied with the unit.

The stand-alone operator display can be installed locally (within 10 ft [3 m]) on the Tracer Summit BMTX building control unit (BCU), the Tracer MP580/581, or the AH540/541 controller and remotely (within 150 ft [46 m]) of its controller.

6. The operator display cable is keyed to the display connector. Before performing step #7, ensure the key and slot are lined up before pressing them together. 7. Connect the operator display cable to the display connector in the display module and then snap the display module in place. 8. Run the operator display cable to the controller and secure it to the wall with wiring staples or wire mold.

9. Feed the operator display cable into the controller enclosure and attach it to the display connector on the controller circuit board as shown in Figure 3 on panel 5. The stand-alone operator display turns on.

To remotely install the stand-alone operator display: 1. Unsnap the plastic back panel from the display module. 2. Disconnect the operator display cable from the display connector in the display module. 3. On the back panel, pull the stress-relief connector on the operator display cable away from the panel and remove the cable (refer to Figure 4 on panel 8). 4. Insert the operator display pigtail connector through the back panel and then press the stress-relief connector firmly into place. 5. Using the back panel as a template, mark the position of the four mounting holes on the mounting surface. (Refer to Figure 2 on panel 3). Set the back panel aside and drill holes for #8 (4 mm) screws or #8 wall anchors. 6. Secure the back panel to the wall with #8 (4 mm) mounting screws (not supplied).
Note: The operator display cable is keyed to the display connector. Before performing step #7, ensure the key and slot are lined up before pressing them together.

Remote Installation Using the Pigtail Connector

WARNING

Hazardous Voltage!

Disconnect all electrical power, including remote disconnects, before servicing. Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures to ensure the power cannot be inadvertently energized. Failure to disconnect power before servicing could result in death or serious injury.

Stress-relief connector

If installing the stand-alone operator display up to 150 feet (46 m), the customer must supply 4-conductor wire, or alternatively, three, twisted-pair wires of the appropriate length. A 4-conductor wire is recommended for remote installation.

7. Connect the operator display cable, 10-pin connector to the circuit board in the display module and then snap the display module in place. 8. Run the customer-supplied operator display cable between the standalone operator display and the controller, and then secure it to the wall with wiring staples or wire mold. 9. Wire the pigtail connectors to the four-conductor wire or to the three twisted-pair wires (refer to Figure 5 on panel 9). 10. Feed the operator display cable into the controller enclosure and attach it to the display connector on the controller circuit board. The standalone operator display turns on.

1. On the Home screen, press the Setup button and the Setup menu appears. 2. Press the Page-Down button to view the next screen. 3. Press the Adjust Brightness and Contrast button and the Brightness and Contrast screen appears.

Avoid Equipment Damage! Notice: Do not allow sharp objects to come in contact with the touch screen.
To calibrate the touch screen: 1. On the Home screen, press the Setup button and the Setup menu appears. 2. Press the Page-Down button to view the next screen. 3. Press the Calibrate Touch Screen button and Calibration screen appears. 4. Using a small, pliable, blunt object, such as a pencil eraser, touch the target on the screen and hold until the beeping stops. A second calibration screen displays. 5. Once again, touch the target with the blunt object and hold until the beeping stops. The Advanced Selection screen appears. 6. Press the Home button to re-display the Home screen.

4. To increase the brightness, press the buttons along the top row, in sequence, from left to right. To decrease the brightness, press the buttons, in sequence, from right to left. 5. To increase the contrast, press the buttons along the bottom row, in sequence, from left to right. To decrease the contrast, press the buttons, in sequence, from right to left.
Note: Contrast adjustment is not available on all computer display models.

NOTICE

Avoid Equipment Damage!

Immediately wipe moisture from the surface of the LCD touch screen. Failure to do so may result in equipment damage.

Do not spray water or cleansers directly on the screen. Doing so may result in equipment damage.

To clean the touch screen, wipe it off with a non-abrasive cloth. For more aggressive cleaning, use low-pressure compressed air to blow off the surface and then wipe it off with a non-abrasive cloth.

To clean fingerprints from the touch screen, use a cloth dampened with a mild commercial liquid glass cleaner. Immediately wipe the touch screen with an absorbent, non-abrasive cloth.
