On Friday, January 20, 15 members of the Zeta Sigma chapter of Alpha Chi Omega volunteered at the GYNCA Chips against Cancer Casino Night. The money raised at the event, held at the The Tower Club in Springfield, Missouri, benefited the GYN Cancers Alliance. The ladies of Alpha Chi Omega helped out in any way they could; such as selling 50/50 tickets and necklaces, working at the silent auction, and checking coats at the door. The women had a great time; as for some of them, it was a personal experience. A few of the volunteers had encountered ovarian cancer within their families. Andrea Coleman, the service chair of the Zeta Sigma chapter, said this in reaction to the event. The event had a great turnout and it meant so much to me to have my sorority sisters there to support me in a cause that is so near and dear to my heart. This organization helped my mom during her battle with ovarian cancer, so their cause has a special meaning in my life. - Jessie Goben, Alpha Chi Omega VP of Public Relations and Marketing
