A Mexican writer and artist

Jos Tlatelpas, a poet, writer, publisher and multimedia artist. Founder of the "Maz Rebelde Cultural Group". Since 1996 he is the director of the Hispanic Canadian webzine "La Guirnalda Polar". He lives in Mexico and Canada.

Jos Tlatelpas (Mxico city, 1953), is a poet, journalist and multimedia artist. His first poetry publication is "La Huilotita Maanera", Ediciones Artesanales del Coyote Esquivo. Later he published "El Coyote Cantador" (1980), "Tecihuatl Nonantzin" (1980), "Que Viva Miliano Zapatas, Jijos del 7 de Espadas" (1980), "Tlahuac" (1980) and other plaquettes. In Japan he published "Tlahuac" (Japanese), "Theatre" (English and Japanese) and "The Chalchihuite de Tlatelpas" (Spanish). In 1985 he was a coordinator of the Cultural Group of The Mexican Socialist Party (PMS) and founded with the poet Mario Ramrez, muralist Jos Hernndez Delgadillo, the poet Benito Balam and others the Cultural Group Maiz Rebelde. In 1987 they publsihed "Desde los Siglos del Maiz Rebelde", a

poetry antology with an introduction by Horacio Caballero. Since 1996 he is the director of the Canadian Hispanic webzine La Guirnalda Polar . In 2008 is included in a poetry anthology about Che Guevara, Coro de Llamas para el Che. In October 2008 he publishes online the book El Libro Rojo del 68, with Leopoldo Ayala and Mario Ramrez, this is a book about the 40 years of the Tlatelolco genocide in Mexico city. He has published several audio books, electronic books, poetry books and is included in several anthologies. As an artist he made murals in Mexico, USA and Canada.

ART From January of 1988 the poet began to show his art work, mainly drawings in Chinese ink and brush on rice paper, acrylics on paper, canvas and murals. MURALS He painted 14 murals in Mexico, USA and Canada, and many more as one day murals, here are listed some of them: a. La Casa de la Cultura of Juchitn, Oax. b. The school Emiliano Zapata in Tlalpan (destroyed). c. The market De La Merced in Mexico City, for the Organization of Mazahua Women. d. The Metro Balderas against electoral fraud, with artist Roberto Ferreira and Mario Ramrez (destroyed by the Mexican government). e. In 1989 he painted a portable mural for Miracosta College in San Diego, California. f. A set for the Performing Group Tatalejos (permanent) in Los Angeles, 1989. g. And another portable one for The Americas Workshop of Murals in Oakland, California (now in Mexico). h. A small portable one for the Chinese community in San Francisco about the Tienanmen massacre of 1989. i. A portable mural for the insignia of Freedom Road, a social organization of workers in USA. j. In September-October of the same year he worked in a collective mural project for Arts Against Racism with Richard Tetrault, Haruko Okano, Thomas Anfield, Maurice Spira and Alberto Cerritos in the city of Vancouver. Currently shown in Four Corners Bank (later it was called "Bank of British Columbia, a branch of Hong Kong Bank" and then, acording to some workers, HSBC). k. Clear Cut Trees, interpreted by Lindsay Kenyon, a rare original video, rescued by koz3e in Youtube "Clearcut Trees" an song written and interpreted by Lindsay Kenyon, also recorded with Susane Morgan. It was featured first time, with other songs, in the poetry audiobook Canadian Panorama , by Jos Tlatelpas, Vancouver, 1990. Lindsay Kenyon is an outstanding composer, singer, actor, theatre director and screenwriter. He was born in East Canada and he is of Native Canadian descent, he share important elements of the Native spirit into his creations.
