Vegfam - our charity of choice

Vegfam is the charity of choice for VegfestUK and will receive half the money collected at Brighton this year though our collections, tombola, raffle and goody bags. In 2011, VegfestUK donated a total of 860 to Vegfam. This includes a collection of 300 taken at Brighton VegfestUK in March 2011, 200 at Bristol in May 2011 and 360 donated by VegfestUK team members throughout the course of the year. Big thanks to everyone who donated last year and we very much hope to top that amount by some considerable way this year, targeting to raise at least 3,000 for Vegfam during 2012. Vegfam Feeds the Hungry without Exploiting Animals and is an excellent choice for everyone, especially for vegetarians and vegans who wish to fund projects that help alleviate famine and suffering in some of the poorest quarters of the globe, though projects that are vegan and that do not involve the exploitation of animals. To find out more about Vegfam visit www.vegfamcharity.org. uk or visit stall number 1 at VegfestUK Brighton to pick up some further info about their work.

Brighton VegfestUK 2012 gives a warm welcome to our amazing Show Sponsors,

Nakd Wholefoods
Nakd have a range of flavoured raisins available too in a variety of styles including Tangy Lime, Pineapple, Orange, Lemon, Crazy Cola and Cherry - and they also have a bunch of other bars out too known as Oatie bars - just raw fruits, oats, nuts and spices mixed together. Thanks to the added oats, theyre slightly denser, chewier and less sweet than the other bars in their range - and they remain free from added sugar, syrup, wheat, gluten and dairy and are 100% vegan. Available in 4 varieties -

Polony Chicken Style Strips Mince Chicken Style Burgers Beef Style Strips Chicken Style Nuggets Express Sausage Rolls Golden crumbled Schnitzel Express Cottage Pie Braii Flavour Sausage Traditional Burgers Traditional Sausages Spiced Burgers Original Hot Dogs

Nakd Wholefoods have one of the most successful and biggest ranges of natural snack bars available in the UK today. These fantastic creations tick all the boxes including the most important one - they taste awesome. Available in 7 different flavours, the bars have no added sugar or syrup, are of course 100% vegan, as well as being wheat, gluten and dairy free. They are perfect for snacking and lunchboxes and combine being a truly healthy snack with being exceptionally yummy too. Irresistible once eaten and fortunately available in bulk, especially at Brighton where the whole range will be available to sample and buy at special discount rates. www.eatnakd.com Nakd have been supporting a number of vegan events including our own for several years now and its great to see them growing and spreading the healthy vegan message so far and wide into the mainstream. The bars are either 100% or 95% raw too, with a combination of healthy fats in each one giving extra energy and zest to an already nutrient packed bar. Available in 7 flavours -

Hot off the press for 2012: there are several more FRYS products in the pipeline, including Vegan Pops, Louisiana Chicken-Style Tenders, Pepper Steak-Style Pies and Country Mushroom Pies. These were launched in January 2012 and are available at the show in Brighton on March 17th & 18th.

Cocoa Delight Ginger Bread Cashew Cookie Pecan Pie Cocoa Orange Cocoa Mint Berry Delight

Check their range out at www.eatnakd.com Big thanks to Nakd for their support again this year - they are a beautiful firm with beautiful people and beautiful products and they deserve the success they are enjoying. They are big supporters of all things vegetarian and vegan and donate regularly to Animal Aid through the sale of their bars. This is a firm that walks the walk and talks the talk and puts its money where its mouth is, and deserves the utmost respect from all of us for their truly excellent achievements.

FRYS range now available to caterers in the UK

Beanies are proud to announce that the FRYS range is now available through 3663 - specialist distributors to the caterers trade. 3663 is one of the biggest food service suppliers in the UK, supplying schools, hotels, colleges, universities, pubs, hospitals, prisons and cafs, and in 2012 you can ask your local catering service to provide FRYS as a regular option. This is particularly handy if you have children in school or are a student at university and want to have some decent veggie options, or if you are going into hospital and want some great veggie choices! Nearly all caterers are supplied by 3663 so they can access FRYS whenever they want - or whenever a customer requests. If you are vegetarian or vegan, please help establish decent food choices by demanding FRYS from any caterers in your area! And congratulations to the FRYS Chicken Burger - winner of the Best Vegan Meat category in the VegfestUK 2011 Awards... 26 | Vegfestuk Vegfestuk | 27

Eric the bizzybee buzzed into life in 2009 when the brand was launched as a fun, friendly and ethical alternative to other household cleaning products. The bee association goes far beyond the name. Earlier this year, bizzybee became a proud Corporate Fellow of the Bumblebee Conservation Trust (BBCT). The Vegan Society

The Vegan Society is approaching its 70th birthday and continues to flourish at the front line of educating and informing people of the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle. Their publication The Vegan won a VegfestUK award in 2011 for the best vegan magazine and rightly so - a really good read once every 3 months. The Society welcomes you all to become a member for a small fee, which includes a subscription to their magazine - excellent value all round! Big thanks once again for their wholehearted support for our events! www.vegansociety.com

They are available in 4 big supermarkets - Asda, Sainsburys, Tesco and Waitrose - as well as many independent health stores throughout the UK. We sampled the Spicy Bean Quarterpounder for lunch in the VegfestUK office recently and were very impressed - a definite spicy tang along with a really excellent crunchy golden breadcrumb coating meant the burger went down particularly well with the team! Goodlife products are well recommended, especially for families and kids and for those making the transition to a veggie or vegan diet. Big thanks to the team for sponsoring the event and we welcome the opportunity to sample their entire range when they come to Brighton. Check out their full range out at www.goodlife.co.uk

Redwood Wholefoods are one of the best known producers of vegan products in the UK today. They have a large and varied range of plant based meats and cheeses, and one of their most incredible products is the Super Melting Cheezly Mozzarella which looks and feels just like the real thing. It also actually melts just like real cheese, which means it can be used as a superb ingredient in its own right in a multitude of dishes such as pizza, lasagne and cheeseburgers. With their almost unparalleled range of sausages and burgers, as well as over 40 meat and cheese products, the company have now ventured into the specialist oils market (including flax, hemp, omega seed, and coconut oils), & have their own range of dairy free desserts available too, as well as fudge and chocolate and a host of other products. Redwood are at Brighton 2012 for both days in full effect with a catering operation for those who want to indulge in eating out big time with some of their best selling products available. They will also be serving free tasters from a variety of other products from their range, and you can of course buy many of their products on the day too. www.redwoodfoods.co.uk
