Testimonials

I just wanted to take the time and thank you all for the greatest products known to MAN. I have a DIR-655 wireless router and about 4 of your hubs in my home. These products are so easy to use and very user friendly. I am running 8 PCs in my network at home and this awesome DIR-655 handles it all flawlessly. The reliability of your products scores 300% in my book. D-Link products rule and your dyi videos are the best. Thank you again for your great products that make my life as easy as can be. James K.

I saw a CNET review of the DIR-655 in The New York Times website. The pros on the product were speed and the cons were high price. That review got me interested and I started looking for a local shop which sells DIR-655's. Found one quickly and was surprised to see the price. Not that it was high, but in fact really inexpensive compared to other n-draft products I've purchased (and there have been quite a few routers and access points). So I disagreed on the high price, but I have to agree on the high speed. The actual wireless speed is almost twice what I get from [competitor]. My most recent purchase was a [competitor] router. Similar specs to the DIR-655, but the looks.... It's huge, ugly and simply put, not as good as the 655. The looks on the DIR-655 are great. It's slim, white and beautiful. The only downside is the brightness on the blue LEDs on the front. They're too bright, they illuminate the whole room at night, and they blur the icons they're trying to illuminate. Anyway, great job, thanks! Joni-Pekka L.

I am most impressed with SharePort's support of hubs and (although not officially acknowledged) have connected four devices simultaneously. The performance of USB2 external hard drives is superb. I have been using Keyspan USB Servers to provide the SharePort functionality and would advise anyone to upgrade their router to one of the D-Link products with SharePort rather than add a USB Server. The only device that has failed to work has been a [competitor's] Serial Port adapter. I know it is not a supported device but I find that one should not discount the SharePort's capabilities just because the device is not a Printer, MFD, Scanner or Storage Device. Thanks. Simon H.

So many times one only hears bad feedback, so I thought I would share this with you. I have owned a DIR-655 router and a DWA-652 adapter card for several

months. I have just viewed yet another technical video, this one discussing the new Share-port software, which is very timely in my case. It will solve a problem I have had with network printing for my household. I just had to say that I am utterly pleased with your products and your continued terrific support, such as these neat little how-to videos. Your customer-oriented service is top shelf making the purchases all the more sweet. I will continue to support D-Link and recommend your products to family, friends and associates. Kudos! Jim A.

This is my first wireless router I have purchased and it has been amazing. DIR-655 was worth the money. I can run three laptops and my PS3 wirelessly without any issue. Never had any problems with the router. My girlfriend has a [competitor]'s router that is constantly giving her problems. Your company has built a superior product and I plan in the future to purchase another router from your company. Thank you for this great product. Victor L.

The DIR-655 is the best router that D-Link has ever made for the consumer market. I am impressed! It has great features like QOS, web logging, syslog, and is reliable and fast! PLEASE keep up the GREAT work and don't forget to have these same features in future routers! Fred W.

You guys have got me absolutely hooked onto your stuff. Started out with the wireless gigabit N router (DIR-655), my modem is a D-Link, the kids wireless adapter in their computer is a DWA-552 and now I'm waiting to see if I can get my hands on a DPG-1200 to complete the system. All works together without any problems. I am not an IT person, but setup is so simple. You guys have provided me with a new hobby ... and the rest of my family with oodles of entertainment. Immo W.

In short, I just wanted to give my thanks for D-Link in making such a wonderful home router, D-LINK DIR-655. I just purchased this product and I must say I am astounded and pleased with this particular product. Its features alone are worth its price. Anyhow, D-Link now has me as a loyal customer from that of [competitor] due to my terrible experiences with their routers.

Thanks D-Link. Vladimir L.

I have a [competitor]'s ADSL modem router with 802.llg. Wanting to stream hi-def video around the house without drilling through the three foot thick walls of our house built in 1802 I really needed (a) a much stronger signal and (b) greater bandwidth with steady throughput. I plugged in the DIR-655 to the old modem router. It connected to the modem without issues. I now stream voice, video and data to the far reaches of the house - smooth as silk - no judder, no errors. It's great for on-line gaming - no "frag-lag". And for VPN tunneling - works no problem. It just does what it does - no hassle. Easy to set up. The deciding factor on whether to buy or not to buy - was being able to talk to D-Link's friendly pre-sales team who answered all my very technical questions - no call centres! Mark S.

I purchased the DIR-655 router and DWA-552 adapter today. This was one of the easiest installations I've ever encountered since working with computers starting way back with a Commodore 128. I just wish everything could be so easy. I never write to companies but I was so highly impressed with the easy installation, I just had to let you know. The instructions were a breeze to follow. Charles R.

I have owned a [competitor's] router for 3 years now. I was receiving poor connections and dropped calls on my VoIP phone. I started to do research online and decided to give your product a try. I am so pleased to say the installation was effortless. The speed is extremely GREAT!!! My laptop was still slow so I drove back the next day to buy the [Xtreme N] notebook card. It would not load at first because it was not Vista compatible. I called your number and was able to get an address to load the drivers from your support site. Downloaded and installed in a few minutes and BAM!!! 4 full bars... and speed I have never seen before. I will ONLY say great things about D-Link products and service. 2nd to NONE !! Thank you for putting out such a great product. I admit a bit pricey...But having this much SPEED and RANGE was worth every dime. Sincerely, a happy customer in SC Virginia R.

I love all of D-Link's products and have been a big user and fan for years now. After upgrading my old D-Link router to the DIR-655 for more power

I bought the DIR-655 brand new off of eBay last week and upon its arrival within 15 minutes I was up an running. This by

DIR-655 router works great with ps3. I have tried 5 different routers and none worked and always got (nat3) rating. I set up DIR-655 and it went to (nat2). I didn't even have to open up a new port. Ps3 went to different address automatically. Good product! David T.

[edited] We're die hard [competitor] fans, but after using the [competitor's wireless product line], we found switching to the D-Link Xtreme was a big improvement. We're running two PC's with VPN (problem for [competitor]), three MacBooks, one Apple TV, and lately two iPhones with the D-Link Xtreme. No problems, works great! Very Fast and very good range. Ironic that even the Apple TV likes the D-Link better. We still love [competitor], but no question that D-Link does wireless better. Bob P.

The packaging of the Xtreme N DIR-655 states easy installation - and they meant it. I have no experience with wireless cards or technology, yet I was up and running in about 5 minutes. It was so fast I thought I missed something. I have a large single story home and I had great reception in every part of the house. Awesome router. Patrick J.
