amy11171 TIBIALIS TENDINITIS?

Housemaid's knee or Pre-Patellar Bursitis Apr 03, 2011 To: I Know HOW TO RESOLVE This knee issue. I found an amazing massage therapist who healed my knee pain in 1 visit. I trie d alot of different things to try to get rid of the sharp pain upon kneeling, in my right knee.--PT, yoga, ice, ROM, etc. None of it worked. As soon as I knee led on it-the sharp, burning, needle pain would return & then go away as soon as I got up. I heard about this intuitive massage therapist who knew exactly what to do. She first used some moist heat to "Warm & loosen up the tissues on & ar ound the knee. She then rubbed some special oils--I think it was pure ginger, l avender & rosemary-(smelled awesome). She then started acupressure & lymph mass age from the bottom of the foot all the way up the shin, knee & outer thigh to t he hip. I could feel the circulation increasing as she worked up. She then wor ked down from the hip to the knee. After everything was "warmed up" she then be gan some "cross fiber friction", she called it, to the outside of the knee, belo w the pattella, exactly where the pinpoint pain originated. Initially is was ve ry tender, but I could feel it slowly releasing as though there were grains of s alt inside. A slight tingling & tight feeling was evident but began to subside as she worked the entire knee. She then put a cold analgesic- on the area. The entire session took an hour. She said not to kneel on it for 3 days. On the t hird day, at night, I kneeled down & presto--it was gone, never to return again! Wow! I suggest you find a massage therapist who specializes in intuitive deep massage, or if you live in the south shore--she's at Back to Basics Massage in Quincy. I think her name was Evonne or Evette. Truly amazing! UltraSound Massager, Ice Packs and Heat source It's called housemaid's knee or Pre-Patellar Bursitis from what I've read.Check here for more info. http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/cybertherapist/front/knee /housemaids_knee.htm My knee pain is a sharp burning/stinging sensation when kneeling on the left kne e. It is at the base of the patella and radiates to the left side of the knee, almost numbing the area. My surgeon diagnosed it as patellar tendinitis. Norma lly, the tendinitis flares up at the tibial (shin) connection, however it can oc cur at the patellar (kneecap) connection which is my case. The normal treatment of a patellar brace ( a strap) is not as effective. He prescribed voltaren ( a topical gel that permeates to 1 cm depth), Naprocen (prescription strength alev e) and ice. I'm to treat for 2 weeks and then return if necessary. After one d ay I'm getting some relief. I have the exact same injury. I am a remodeling contractor and often work from m y knees. I've often knelt down on all types of debris and am very familiar with the pain. I normally wear knee pads but the one time I didn't this happened to m e. If you've read all of the above, you know the rest of the symptoms. I have no diagnosis but can suggest the treatment that worked for me. It's been about 3 w eeks since the injury. I started with direct ice for the first week. I then star ted ultrasound massage with a portable ultrasound unit I purchased for about $15 0 a few years ago. I originally bought it to treat my tennis elbow and it was th e only thing that worked. I dealt with that pain for almost a year before buying the ultrasound massager. It cured it in about 2 weeks and have been pain free e ver since. Anyways, I started using it, after a week of ice, 2x a day, 15 min. e ach session. Also make sure to limit kneeling & make sure you have some good pad ding if you have to kneel. After 2 weeks of ultrasound the pain is almost all go

ne. If you are prone to tendonitus, I highly recommend purchasing a portable ult rasound massager. I purchased mine from ***************.com and it was the best $150 I have ever spent. It is about what you'll pay for one treatment from a PT. I hope it works as well for any of you as it has for me. Debs Stanley Debs lives and works near Bath.
