How do we know that Megillah Esther

"

was given to the merit of Melech Shlomo? "Pride comes before a fall." In memory of my Mother Gwendolyn Jane Hurst bat Alma, bat Cora, bat Lydia, bat Rivka (Rebecca) Ann Eddie; anthropologist, historian, and genealogist. A hidden Jew. In Megillah Esther many secrets are concealed and continue to be revealed to every generation through the diligent study of this "letter" to the merit of both Hadassah and Mordechai. It is in hope of revealing and concealing secrets found in the Megillah that I have labored to write this short booklet. While many notations and references to the Torah, Talmud, Midrash and apocrypha (the Dream and Prayer of Mordechai) could be set forth herein to support my position I have omitted them that I might show to the reader the importance of "kalta nafshi and hachnaset orchim." Although a straight forward commentary might have been the best method to do so, listing all the references thereto, I chose a real "Messianic" adversary I once studied and vehemently debated with. During that period of my journey, I chose to give this "adversary of all Jews" (Tommy Thomas Carl Carr, III, also known as, TC Carr and Talmadge ben Turgeman) the nickname/acronym the "RatBat;" a well deserved title for a wanna-be Messianic "Rabbi" who, by my standards is probably the most arrogant, loud spoken and self-centered person I have ever met in my life. In his desire to become a Rabbi, he studied at night, only coming out in the day to "steal like a rat, the words (rather than the teachings) of the Torah" while, although IT were right in front of him, he could not see IT since he is "blind as a bat (ignorant of its truth)." This "blind" man had the audacity to challenge an ordained Rabbi of Portland, Oregon asserting that the Rabbi was wrong about Jewish law; and dismissed out of hand the requirement (as I asserted and showed through the Greek and Hebrew texts of the Christian Bible (e.g. 1 Thess. 4.1, etc.) that he marry and cohabit with a Jewish woman, (Tena [Channah Dov] Polk) only after he provide her with a Ketuvah. That is, if he could not fulfill the obligations of a Jewish husband, he was required (by Torah) to separate from Ms. Polk since according to Jewish law, (even by Messianic law) he was not legally married to her.

This man went so far as to convince her (under the principal of rshut submission to ones husband) to sign a secular "post-nuptial" agreement that would provide him half her real property rights under the threat of civil commitment and loss of custody of her natural born son. In his arrogance, this man greatly dishonored me by "ordering" that my Sukkah be torn down and replaced with a "fancy" Sukkah (when at the time that he initially came to Portland from Texas, he was homeless). Following this and a desecration of Kiddush for Sukkot, I chose to take the vow of a Nazir as a witness against "Messianic" Judaism, for these Jews are spiritually in the category of Sotah (unfaithful, adulterous born Jews who abandoned Judaism for a foreign deity, Yeshki) having gone beyond the mere suspicion of being unfaithful and provoking Ha-Shem to Jealousy resulting in the destruction of the Second Temple. My writing this booklet began with the simple question concerning the passuk (Esther 4.11): Because the peshat (plain meaning) of the text states, "this 30[th] day;" I asked if the text were related to Jewish laws of purity. Thus began my writing on an ancient subject (the forced Pilegesh "concubine"). "Yochanan asked, 'And why was Mordechai (hereafter ( exalted over Haman (hereafter " '?( RatBat replied, "He informed against Bigthan and Teresh." Yochanan said, "That is no proof, for we know that delivered the king and also sought to destroy the king and make Hadassah his pilegesh! It is known and understood that had the desire to be exalted over Achashvrosh. was exalted above as he refused to exalt who had no honor.* It is known and understood that. RatBat objected with loud arrogance, How do we know this? Can you bring me proofs? Yochanan responded, From your own words I will prove was exalted because he was humble.
* honor becomes not a fool and had foot and mouth disease which is why he was not allowed by Ha-Shem to be honored by Achashvrosh but instead (middah kneged middah) was ordered to publicly exalt .

(Mah), this refers to (6.3,6) Chamah (3.8 and 5.9). (Zeh), this refers to 4.11

(Daat), this refers to 4.1 (Ydaa) and 4.14 (Yodaa) (Note: 4.5 Ldaat). What did do? did not put forth his hand to accept the garments that Esther sent to him. remembered the afar (ashes) of the Alter and the mizbaach of Pesach. Afar this refers to Echa (Lamentations 2.10). RatBat retorted, These are no proofs, for we know that transgressed the Kings command and it is written, Submit to every ordinance of man. Yochanan responded, You misunderstand the passuk, (4.17, 8.15) vayavor. (It should be well noted that HaShem provided in the Torah for Sheni Pesach where, as here, Mordechai began fasting on the first day of Pesach.) Why does the Megillah mention Adar only after first mentioning Tevet and then Nisan? RatBat said, Because Tevet is the first of the months and the Rabbanim changed the order of the months (to conceal the truth about Yshua who was born according to Messianic tradition in the Western month of December, which is equivalent to Tevet).1 One reason Esther mentions Tevet is because it was wood that sought to hang on as his wife Zeresh advised, but in an ironic turn of events (middah keneged middah) he was hung upon his own gallows (Tevet is the New Year for Trees.) and wood is a the symbol of arrogance! Yochanan said, In order to introduce the Jewish Calendar and the subject of Pesach the first of our months, our month of Liberation. What caused to sit in the seat of the scornful2 (3.6a)? RatBat shouted, Whats this, you have not answered my first question, and now you wish to introduce a new subject? Yochanan answered softly, When one sits in judgment, one may not condemn the righteous with the wicked. (So too did Avinu Avraham when he argued before HaShem.)
This assertion is one of many false assertions commonly used (or rather it has become a minhag) by Messianics without any real proofs in attempt to discredit Oral Tradition and Rabbinical Judaism for the sake of advancing the cause of the Notzri. 2 Tehillim 1.1.

RatBat asked, But how do we know that sat in the seat of the scorners if it is not in the peshat of the Megillah? Yochanan said, Is it not written, (And Zeresh his wife.) (6.13). If scorned the words of his wife, it was only because (And was filled with wrath.); and one who is full has no room (for humility and honor). (3.5, 5.9) Yochanan asked, RatBat, what was transgression? (If it is as you say, that he transgressed the kings command.) RatBat could not answer. Yochanan continued, It is known and understood that only transgressed minhag (custom) but not the (written) edict of the king; for we find that even transgressed his own minhag. (2.19) RatBat asked, What was the custom of ? Yochanan said, To sit in the Kings Gate and to advise the King of his peoples customs and laws (1.13, 2.19; but see 2.11 lishma: zeh sod). Yochanan asked, What was the custom of ? RatBat said, To advise the king; for it is written, Achar, etc. It was to hipil pur (cast lots, (3.7) in determining the death tax). If it were to advise the King, then why is it written, mas, (etc.) (10.1)? RatBat responded, If it were so, then why does the Megillah not say so? Yochanan said, (gesturing) RatBat, go and learn, for the end is in the beginning; even as it is known and understood. (3.9, 11) Why does the Megillah introduce Esther as Hadassah? RatBat said, To conceal her Jewishness. She was an anusim.3 (a forced convert to the religion of Ishtar who hid her practice of Judaism). Yochanan responded, If she were an anusim we would only know her as Esther. Because she was faithful to the Torah, and the Royal Laws of Hachnaset orchim (hospitality to Guests, even to ones arch enemy; as Mordechai
To the merit of Hadassah. We (not the Notzri) understand the word as one who was forced, that is, forced to be a pilegesh (concubine).

Machlis of Maalot Dafna, Jerusalem has demonstrated to this writer); we know her as both Esther and Hadassah. Had she been an idolater we would only know her as Esther. Because she was faithful to ,we know her as the Daughter of Mordechai, a Daughter of Zion. (2.7 vyahi, omen et Hadassah.) And what did Esther cause Achashvrosh to do? RatBat responded, She caused and his 10 sons to be hung on the gallows. Yochanan responded, If that were so, then you forgot to mention Bigsan and Teresh. It was Esthers (Hadassahs) radiant beauty, for she caused4 Achashvrosh to grant an amnesty (and to give royal gifts). RatBat said, Then you must accept that as the cause of having been exalted. Yochanan replied, If that were so, then you must accept that fasting, sackcloth and ashes were for nothing. And you must accept that those hung on the gallows were exempt from the amnesty. RatBat retorted, What about Anachnu5? Yochanan replied, I brought you two or three proofs. Need I bring more? RatBat remained silent so that ended the matter. When the Talmadim were gathered together privately, they asked, Master, why didnt you answer his last question? Lishmah zeh sod: Byomim Purim anachnu amar Am Mordechai: (4.13) Lhashiv (4.15)

We understand this to mean that HaShem turns the heart of the king where-so-ever He wills it (Kohelet) because it was HaShem Who granted Hadassah such beauty that she found grace in the eyes of all who saw her. 2.15 5 Anachnu can be read, We or it can be read, Vyanachnu bnai Yisrael. (Shmot 2.23 Hebrew); or, (Aramaic) azev et ploni lanachot; (to abandon one to his wretched plight); anchyah (he [the Ratbat] placed it. a play on words and his question)!

Byomim Shalom: HaKvod Mordechai and Hadassah. Byomim hazeh Purim: Barooch Mordechai; Mqalal Hamas! (It is noted here that the Amoraim of the Fourth century in Eretz Yisrael unhesitantly and approvingly read the conditions of their own time as comparable to those related in Megillah Esther). Tehillim 115.18 vAnachnu nvareych Yah, mayatah vayd olam, Halleluyah. And from Mordechai to Mordechai there has been none like Mordechai!

Sulam Mordechai
Yochanan opened with: Tehillim 106.2-3: Mi ymalel gvurot, HaShem yashmiya kal tehilat? Ashrey Shomrey Mispat oseh tzaddaqah vkal eyt. Who can express the mighty acts of HaShem; who can express all His Praise? Praiseworthy is the one who guards justice and who performs righteousness at all times. Who is this that can perform righteousness at all times? Is there not a contradiction between this passuk and the passuk, There is none righteous, no not one.? Gershom replied, Master, It seems to me that there is no contradiction because the latter is dependent on a particular time spoken of by the Nevi whereas the former is not time dependent but is a path one can choose at any time. A min said, You forgot to complete the passuk, for all have fallen short of the glory of HaShem. Its a matter of chavod (honor) and we know that honor becomes not a fool. It is related that sin is foolishness and all have sinned. Yochanan said, If that were the case, then your Messiah has fallen short of the glory of HaShem and has been the greatest fool of all. Does not the passuk read: no, not one; if so, then the Messiah has not (yet) come to redeem Yisrael because there is not one (righteous person that has attained to [measured up to] the glory of HaShem). In other-words, . Douglas (the min) said, I do not agree. We are not here studying Tayshbetz cross-word puzzles; but the Holy Torah. My Master, Yshua said, I came not to call the righteous but sinners to do (asot that is, complete, make an end of, or finish) tshuva and he was without sin as we know for he took all of mankinds sins upon himself as it is written in our scriptures, the Brit Chadasha. Yochanan responded, Then why is it written, The fathers shall not be put to

death for the sins of the son, nor the sons for the sins of the fathers but everyone shall be put to death for his own sins.? (Devarim 24.16, but see also: Shmot 20.7, 30.15, 16, (Nafshotaychem [your souls, plural] 32.33) As I was explaining, there is not one; that is, we are missing someone (Moshiach)! Gershom asked, Master, then why does Melech David ask, Who can express all the mighty acts of HaShem and who can express all his praise and then go on in the other Tehillim to state that there are those who guard justice and do righteousness at all times; if it were not possible (as according to the Notzri)? Yochanan said in response, This is a good question. From it, I think we can understand the motivation of Mordechai to fast and pray in sackcloth and ashes and answer your question at the same time. Melech David ptuach (opened the Tehillim): Ashrey haIsh asher (etc.) and went on to contrast one who is unlike the type of person as our arch enemy was! He wrote of one who places his desire in the Torah of HaShem and in IT does he meditate day and night; (much like Yitzchak, who instituted the afternoon [Minchah] prayer). The person who meditates in the Torah day and night is one who is praiseworthy because the person guards justice and does righteousness at all times; even in times of national tragedy, as it is written of Mordechai! This person is known (yodaa) by HaShem as the Tehillim states (1.6). Yochanan asked, How far did Mordechai ascend? Douglas asked, Should not the question be, from where did he ascend? Gershom interjected, I heard a Baraisa but I do not know if I heard correctly. One related that a decree was instituted against us and sentries were posted to prevent the family of pestle smugglers or robbers. Did Mordechai ascend from among that family? Yochanan said, If we say how far or from where, the answer is the same: above (over) the wall. Douglas retorted, If it were from above the wall, we are still left with the question, from where (which wall) did he ascend? Gershom said, How do we know that he ascended over the wall? Yochanan answered, Gershom, a similar Baraisa relates that when the sentries asked of those carrying ladders, they responded, We are going to get pigeons from the dovecotes.

How is this related to Mordechais ascent and how far it was? If it is a Baraisa, how can it be related to your question of Mordechais ascent? Ladders are used to climb walls and gallows to remove the condemned. Mordechai was appointed over the estate of "? M ascend did high owh os ; Douglas unhesitatingly said, Fifty cubits. Yochanan asked, How many cubits to a man? If the gallows were fifty cubits and was hung on them we must say that it was more than fifty; unless you accept that the total height of the gallows was fifty. In that case, we know that ascended beyond fifty for fifty in gematria is equivalent to the letter ) nun) which is the beginning of the word nefil (to fall) and we know that did not fall but ascended to the throne next to Hadassah, where there was Or, Simcha, Sasson, and Vyqar (Light, Joy, Gladness and Honor); and then he became greater and greater (because he sought the welfare of all his descendent, not just those present in the Megillah). Or in gematria is 212 (ryb); simcha is 353 (shs), sasson is 1300 and viyqar (honor) is 316 (syv). If we reduce the digits to lowest numbers of gematria and add these rungs of the ladder we find that ascended 30 cubits more than the fifty cubits Zaresh suggested: 5+11+4+10=30 and 30 in gematria can either be lamed (as in Lamed Vav Tzaddiqim, the 36 hidden righteous souls upon which life hangs in doubt); or it can be divided into two parts: 15 + 15= Yad (v) Yad6 (the Hidden Hands of Hashem, the Hands of Esther (who performed Hachnaset Orchim, and the Hands of Mordechai (who took not the garments of Esther and who wrote Megillah Esther). Fifty and thirty is eighty and eighty in gematria is Pay or Phay, or divided into two parts is 40 + 40= Mem (v) Mem. Pay is related to corners (which are left for the poor), or the corners (of the grey beard of Mordechai). Mem is related to Mordechai and the Megillah. Rav opened with, And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee. Megillat 11a (His exposition was interrupted with a digression about purchases from the marketplace.) He interpreted the passuk as applying to Yisrael in the times of Esther and Mordechai. This was the 24 hours from the removal of the ring (3.10) when Achashvrosh gave full powers. Gershom said, The twenty four, these remind me of the Mishmarot and Maamadot. Douglas (a min) asked, Who were they?

Yochanan said, The Neviim instituted them to stand and guard and to pray for the sacrifices of Yisrael to be accepted by HaShem. If it was not their turn to make an aliyah to Jerusalem they remained in their towns and recited verses from Brashit (Genesis). Douglas asked, Why Brashit? Gershom said, Because of the Powers of Rain. Shmuel opened with, And yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I did not reject them, neither did I abhor them to destroy them utterly, to break my covenant with them, for I am HaShem their G-D (VaYikra 26.44). Yochanan asked, What does this verse come to teach us? Gershom said, The foolishness of H plot to utterly destroy Yisrael. Douglas said, It relates to the destruction of the Temple by Titus, not the days of H as related in the Midrash (Rabbah Esther). Yochanan said, The passuk comes to teach us of assurance in the world, for it relates, I am their G-D (not the G-D of their destruction but of their Judgment), and without G-D there would be no world! Shir Mordechai 7(The Song of Mordechai): Adonai, Adonai, Gdol Melech (Highest of Kings), Yshuot (Salvation of) Yisrael. Aph lo echad Ychuv Atah Yad (No-one can stay Your hand), Omorid HaGeshem (Creator of the Powers of Rain)8. Adon haKol (L-rd of All), YoDaat haKol ani Lev (You know all my Heart), Ani lo yikra vlo yishtachaveh (I did not bow nor did I prostrate). LhaKol zeh, Atah tenli Kavod KaYamim BYrushalayim. (For all this, You have given me Honor like in the days of Jerusalem). Vachshav, KaYamim Mordechai vEsther, (And now, like the days of Mordechai and Esther), Noten LhaKol Yisrael Or, Simcha, Sasson, Vyqar bAyin Kol (Give to all Israel Light, Joy, Gladness and Honor in the Eyes of all), KaHadassah anaf (Like the Myrtle (Hadassah) Branch).

(It is noted here that Yosippon of the Tenth Century approvingly used the apocrypha. As such I have taken the liberty of gleaning from the Apocrypha, (the Prayer of Mordechai) to compose the following Shir.) 8 Power of The Rain comes from its descent at the Yad of HaShem.
