Janice is still unconscious. Ryan struggles against his bindings feebly. He is weak. A bead of sweat rolls down his pale face. After a while, he gives up, he turns his head around to take a look at Janice. Seeing that she is still asleep, he rocks the chair back and forth in an attempt to wake her up. She doesnt. MOTHER You already have too many! Maybe some other time. Janice pouts but she drops the subject. Ryan starts swinging his mothers hand and points excitedly at a clown ahead. The clown notices them and slowly walks towards them. His large clown shoes make a loud clacking sound on the floor. He grins widely as he reaches them. CLOWN (Over-ly cheerfully) Hi there children! Would you like a balloon? RYAN Yes please! He jumps and grabs at the red balloon, failing to grab hold of anything. After one last jump, he trips and falls to the ground, facing the clowns shoes. The clown bends down to pick Ryan up. his head is only inches away from Ryans face. They eye each other up and the clown gives a small wink. Ryans eyes widen and he hastily gets up. CLOWN (Muttering to himself) Dont pop it. For your own sake. RYAN (A little less excited now) I want a red one. HE POINTS AT THE RED ONE IN THE BUNCH. RYAN(CONTD) That one. Clown picks the balloon from his bunch and hands it to Ryan. Ryan lifts his head to look at his mother as if to ask for permission to take the balloon. His mother gives him an approving nod. Ryan takes it from the clown with a weak smile. Mother takes his hand again and they continue to walk. They reach a bench and the mother puts them down. They all sit and wave the balloon around. The mother takes a few snaps on her iPhone. Suddenly, she gets a call and takes it. A problem had risen in her business deal. She gets worked up in the conversation and wonders further away from the children. Ryan and Janice play with the balloon. They throw it around and giggle as they do so. Ryan grabs it from mid air and holds it in his hands. He squeezes it tight. Suddenly, it pops.
