Coffee Connect Special Event

Sally Thibault, The Social Media Mum is an Author, Speaker, Mother of three adult children and Parenting Expert who specialises on the impact of Social Media on teenagers. This event will run over two sessions.

SESSION 1
Monday 19th March 7.00-8.30 pm

How to make your child cyber-bully proof social media Why your teen. fuels at-risk teenage behaviour and how to best help How to assist your teen to stay focused in order to achieve success in whichever endeavour they choose.
You will come away from these information evenings with simple, easy to implement strategies to ensure your teenager is fully equipped to deal with the challenges of life in this social media age.

Sally is an experienced, professional, entertaining speaker who focuses on helping her audience to create simple solutions to any of lifes challenges. She was the Director of Community Relations of Saint Stephens College at Coomera, for ten years serving as the Vice President of ADAPE Queensland and presented at three ADAPE International Conferences on Educational Marketing during that time.

In April 2010, Sally released her first book; Davids Gift, the inspirational story of the journey and challenges faced following her sons diagnosis of Aspergers Syndrome in 1997. Her second book, Wise Mothers, Raising Teenagers in the Social Media Era highlights the impact that technology, social media and mass marketing is having on teenagers and why parents are now more important in their childrens lives than at any other point in history. She speaks regularly on the topics of Raising Teenagers in the Social Media Era, why Social Media is challenging the culture of Schools and Autism. She has been featured on Channel 9s Today Show, Network 10s The Circle and various national radio and newspaper interviews. Sally holds a Diploma of Professional Counselling, is a fellow of the Association of Development Professionals in Education and member of the Board of Trustees of The Goda Foundation.
