Paper presentation

Write a paper on an open question or an unresolved problem in Informatics for example in the field of human-computer-interaction, computer-mediated communication, social inter-action and networking, advance computer architecture, networking, data base, operating systems and.. The paper should include at least three sections: an introduction, a body with a discussion of the question/ problem, and a conclusion. It should not exceed 6-10 pages (references included). The paper is due January 30, 2010, 12h00 - 18h00 to be presented in front of your group. Please include in the hard copy:

1. The first page (with the university LOGO, paper name, subject, name of the
student, etc.)

2. The second page (includes the Contents of the hard copy)

3. Albanian or Macedonian version of the Paper 4. English version of the Paper 5. Hard copy of 3-5 papers used as reference 6. Cover (front - transparent one) 7. Cover (back - thick, not transparent) 8. Inside the hard copy, on the back cover, the CD which must include: All the hard copy materials in electronic format The Albanian/Macedonian & English PowerPoint presentations Printed CD label on the CD (like commercial CDs) Before submitting the final version of your paper, it could be helpful to revise it.

- Could the title be made more informative? Would a subtitle render it more explicit? 2 Abstract: - No more than 300 words. Have you given the aim of this paper or your work? Have you highlighted in your paper novelty and advantages over other solutions? Introduction: 1 - Have you given any background information before introducing the problem? 2 - Reconsider the definition of your problem. Could further information make it clearer? What key-words have you used to define it? How much evidence have you used to support it? Body:

- How have you argued for your solution? Have you highlighted its novelty and advantages over other solutions? How have you emphasized that it is a proper solution and not just a suggestion among several suggestions? 2 - How have you taken into account alternative solutions? How fairly have you treated the alternative solutions? Where should you place them: before or after your own proposal? 3 - Have you explained the benefits and advantages of your solution? What about possible disadvantages? Conclusion: 1 - Have you solved the problem or answered the question/s posed in the introduction? Is it possible to indicate aspects which would require further study? References: 1 - Are the references formatted consistently? Are all the citations in the paper documented in the reference list? Structure 1 - How are the different sections linked? Are they properly introduced and adequately rounded off? Check that there is no unnecessary repetition in the various sections. Language 1 - Are the sentences well formed and linked logically to each other indicating their causal relation-ships? Where can the sentence structure be improved? How is the transition achieved between the paragraphs? Do your paragraphs have topic sentences? 2 - Check the tenses to make sure that the reader can differentiate between general purpose statements (present tense) and statements that pertain to specific time frames (past and present perfect tense). 3 - Are all the special terms defined? Clarity and Readability 1 - How could you make the beginning more interesting? 2 - Can you find sections where you have given too many or maybe too few details? 3 - What is the focus of each paragraph? Can you find a topic sentence for each paragraph? Does the paragraph develop that topic sentence or do you change ideas in the middle of a paragraph? 4 - How can you link your paragraphs so that your reader does not have to guess what the connection is? 5 - Look at your sentences. Can you find any that are too long and complicated and would need cutting down? Can you find any that are short and sound choppy? 6 - What could you add to your conclusion to make the reader remember it? What could you add to make it more convincing? Always proof-read your paper to avoid misspelling and subject-verb agreement mistakes!
