Rules and Regulations

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Participants should bring Bonafide Certificate & ID card at the time of registration. Participants can take part in many events without any time clash. A registration fee of Rs. 150/- per head (Xtreme Ngineer) & Rs. 50/- per head per event (Brain teaser, Team Tronix & Just a minute) has to be paid. Spot registration is allowed. Time : 8.30 am to 09.30 am (Except Xtreme Ngineer) Candidate should confirm their participation on or before 07.01.2012 to the E-mail ID (scimit@sify.com) E-mail, phone number and postal address are compulsory. Attractive prizes will be given along with certificate for the winners. Participants who are selected from the preliminary round will pay their registration fee (except Xtreme Ngineer). Participation certificates will be given for all the registered participants. Lunch will be provided to the registered participants of Xtreme Ngineer only. Refreshment in the morning & evening will be provided to all the registered participants College buses are available from Villupuram and Pondy (new bus stand) at 8.00 am & from cuddalore at 7.20 am No TA/DA will be provided. Organizing Committee decision is final.

Xtreme Ngineer (Project X!po)

1. Participants have to register online for this event. 2. Maximum 3 members per team. 3. The detailed abstract of half to one page should be submitted as a MS Word document (.doc format only) with Times New Roman font (size 12), Heading size: 16, single spacing and single column format on or before 7th January 2012 to scimit@sify.com with subject as SCIMIT12- project . 4. A working model to explain a concept, principle or a process of An innovative/inexpensive technique. Application of basic principles of Science/technology Scheme/design of a device to save the world against the natural disaster (Eg. Flood, Earth quake,& Tsunami etc) Energy & its conservation techniques 5. Selected participants will be announced on 12th January 2012 through the Email. 6. Projects will be under the following categories. General science Civil & Mechanical Electrical, Electronics & communication technology Software & hardware technology Environmental issues 7. Projects belong to Software & hardware technology category systems will be provided. 8. The participants must bring their necessary accessories. 9. The event consists of 3 rounds. Round I : Display in the exhibition hall for 3hrs. (Marks will be given based on the theme & mode of display) The participants have to crack down the Round I to get into the Round II. Round II : Display in the exhibition hall for 2hrs. (Marks will be given based on the efficiency, design and performance of application) The participants have to crack down the Round II to get into the Round III. Round III : 5 minutes for power point presentation & 5 minutes for questionnaire by the judges & audience. 10. The organizers reserves full rights to disqualify any project that is found not innovative. 11. The decision of the judges will be final. First : Rs. 25,000/Second : Rs. 15,000/- Third : Rs. 10,000/-

Maximum 3 teams per institution, 3 members per team Prelims will be conducted to test basic knowledge in science & technology. The participants have to crack down the prelims to get into the Registration. Onstage event Questions will be in the audio & video type. Area for this event is given as follows.

SIX TEAMS will be selected for the finals, wherein a maximum of 2 teams per college shall enter the finals 8. The decision of the quiz master will be final. First : Rs. 1,000/Second : Rs. 750/Consolation prize Rs. 50/- per head Event registration will be on the spot. A maximum of three members is allowed for a team Prelims will be conducted. You will be given a scene or situation of an impending disaster. All you have to do is rake up creativity and tell us what you would do, had you be in that situation. Three with the best response walks away with prize. 5. Maximum timing for a team in each round is 5 mins. 6. Decisions made by the judges will be final. First : Rs. 1,000/Second : Rs. 750/Consolation prize Rs. 50/- per head 1. Participants have to register on the spot for this event. 2. Individual event. 3. Prelims will be conducted 4. Topics in science & technology will be given on the spot. 5. Each participant will be given 3 minutes to speak on a topic picked up by him/her by draw of lots. A bell will ring at the end of two minutes to indicate that only one more minute is left for the speaker to wind up his or her speech. Another bell will be rung at the end of 3 minutes. Marks may be deducted if the speaker exceeds the time limit. 6. Decisions made by the judges will be final. 7.
