Exploring todays exciting and ever- evolving industry
Huawei presents Mobile Broadband Life at 3GSM Congress in Barcelona
at 3GSM include the
prototype of LTE adopting
OFDM and MIMO key
technologies, UMTS 900

Huaweis MBMS (Multimedia
Broadcast Multicast Service)
solution. In addition, the
future-oriented EnerG
GSM solution will be on
show, which utilizes 3G
and IP technologies to
maximize mobile networks
values. The Huawei stand,
located at booth B03 Hall

QUALCOMM are also jointly
demonstrating their MBMS
service.
Huawei has teamed
up with QUALCOMM to
successfully complete the
industry's frst commercial
MBMS (Multimedia Broadcast
Multicast Service) mobile TV
interoperability testing (IOT),
a mobile TV solution based
on 3GPP Release 6. The IOT
was performed on Huawei's
UMTS/HSPA network with
handsets based on the Mobile
Station Modem (MSM)
MSM7200 chipset solution
from QUALCOMM. During
the IOT, MBMS technology
was used to transmit TV
programs at 256 Kbps, which
played clearly and smoothly.
Users were able to quickly
switch channels by pressing
navigation buttons on the
handset, and MBMS allowed
streaming to be suspended
during an incoming voice call
and automatically resumed
streaming when the call
ended. The successful IOT
demonstrates that MBMS
is on-track for large-scale
commercial deployments
in 2007.

Huawei's MBMS solution
is compatible with the
commercialized CMB solution,
meaning today's 3G handsets
would only require software
update to support MBMS
service -- further facilitating
the rollout of MBMS services.
The prototype LTE (Long-

Spain. LTE is the name for
a mobile network currently
under development that
delivers the optimal upgrade
path for 3G networks. LTE
will be used for mobile,
fxed and portable wireless
broadband access.
Huawei is strongly
engaged in LTE development
and attaches much
importance to LTE with
a long track record of
LTE standardization and
technical development
since 2005. Huawei has
a strong portfolio of LTE-
LTE, the next golden opportunity
related intellectual property,
and is taking a leadership
role in the development of
LTE. The company has the
prototype of LTE with up-to-
date LTE services for small-
scale trial. The commercial
product is cost-effectiveness
oriented and for large scale
commercial deployment
from 2010. In future, LTE
can be migrated from
WCDMA smoothly.
LTE will offer a number
of benefts to operators,
aimed at increasing capacity,
reducing network complexity.
As well as higher peak rates,
LTE also provides greater cost
effciency for operators. It will
enable operators to meet the
growing demand for mobile
data solutions, making it
possible for richer services to
be delivered to consumers
more cost effectively.

To lay the foundations
for a multimedia future,
Vodafone Spain, one of
the top mobile operators in
Spains extremely competitive
mobile market, has chosen
Huawei to offer the high
performance radio access
part of a new nationwide
HSPA network.
To date, Phase 1 of this
project has been completed
successfully. Huaweis
innovative Distributed Node
Bs are widely used throughout
this HSPA network. Their
slim and compact design
means that they can be easily
installed at existing sites. The
Remote Radio Unit (RRU),
with an output power of
40W, can also be installed
directly on masts, decreasing
power loss and increasing
network coverage and
performance. These features
make Huaweis Distributed
Node B solution cost-effective
and effcient, accelerating
network deployments and
boosting the performance of
HSPA networks.
Thorough testing and
a subscriber survey both
indicate improved network
performance, as a result of
network adjustments. Both
the received signal strength
and signal-interference ratio
have been enhanced so as
to signifcantly heighten
users' experience of voice
and video services, as well as
HSDPA throughput.

Telefonica successfully
tested the 3G/UMTS voice
call, video call, data call and
even HSDPA service on the
900 MHz frequency band in
Spain. This is one of the UMTS
900 MHz success calls in a
real working environment.
Huawei supported this
activity with its UMTS access
equipments to show the
availability of the technology
and analyze the implications
and benefts of deploying a
network in that frequency.
Huawei has released
both Macro Node Bs and
Distributed Node Bs which
support UMTS 900 MHz
deployed in various scenarios.
Also the data collected in
this trial proves that the
interference between UMTS
900 MHz network and the
existing GSM 900 MHz
network is acceptable. In
Talarrubias, a village 300
miles away from Madrid,
the UMTS 900 MHz cell is
deployed overlay the existing
GSM 900 MHz cell. Both
these two networks work well
simultaneously and subscribers
can handover between these
two networks smoothly.
UMTS 900 MHz is set
to play an important role in
the mobile communication
industry. The present
tests and the technical
validation of UMTS 900 MHz
indicate essential stages in
determining the potential
for implementation of this
technology.
Telefonica believes that
the UMTS 900 MHz system
will bring signifcant beneft to
customers because it speeds
up the deployment of mobile
broadband communication
in suburban and rural areas.
Also UMTS 900 MHz system
can widen the coverage
of each UMTS site and
enhance the quality of mobile

layer, core network, access network and
terminals supporting high performance
HSPA services. Focusing on customers
requirements, Huawei frstly rollouts
the end-to-end full performance HSPA
solution. At the access layer, Huawei
rolled out a series of Node Bs which
reach a peak rate up to 14.4 Mbps per
cell downlink and in the uplink support
2ms/10ms TTI, with the peak rate up
to 5.76 Mbps per subscriber. The new
generation RNC has a large capacity and
strong processing capability, supporting
abundant HSPA radio resources
management algorithms. At the core
layer, Huaweis SGSN/GGSN is leading
the industry in terms of processing
ability, thus fully satisfying the
requirements of HSPA service popularity.
At the service layer, Huawei has specifc
design for the delivery of HSPA from
service server to IMS core network, and
from the management of service types
to the allocation of bandwidth. In the
terminal area, E220, Huaweis HSDPA
USB Modem has been widely used
worldwide. In terms of the network
evolution, Huawei has contributed
5% proposals of LTE architecture and
conducted the simulation and feld tests
about various candidate technologies
as one of the companies who initially
started LTE research projects.
Huaweis end-to-end full performance
HSPA solution will help operators build
predominance in the market and protect
investment in a long run.
The coverage capability of UMTS
900 MHz is obviously better than that
of UMTS core frequency bands. So the
number of sites would be less when
deploying an UMTS network working
in 900 MHz frequency band than
in core frequency bands. Adopting
extended bands can also effectively
share band resources. Huawei is one
of the frst to support full band UMTS
and frstly fulflled in the HSDPA test
based on UMTS 900MHz network in
2006. Huaweis HSPA solution supports
multiple bands 850/900/1700/1800/
1900/2100 MHz and the co-cabinet
of multiple bands. Furthermore,
Huaweis UMTS 900 MHz network can
co-exist with GSM network with the
special anti-interference technologies.
Improving indoor coverage quality is
the key element to attract 3G subscribers.
3G indoor coverage needs to satisfy
the coverage and capacity of voice and
high-speed data services, while the
conventional indoor coverage solution
can not meet the requirements due to
the import methods of signal source
and the limitation of feeder. Huaweis
iDBS (indoor Distributed Node B System)
solution features refned structure,
large capacity, fexible confguration,
easy optimization and centralized
maintenance. Since iDBS effectively takes
use of fber and CAT5/6 instead of heavy
radio frequency cable, the acquisition of
site becomes easier. Compared with the
conventional distributed systems, iDBS
can greatly reduce terminals transmitting
power with less feeder loss according to
the less utilization of feeders and power
allocators. Accordingly, the radiation to
users is much lower.
Services focus
on customer
experience
To realize the service
differentiation is the
major means for mobile
operators to stand out from
the competition. PCCW
of Hong Kong uses
Huaweis CMB solution
to provide mobile TV broadcast services
through wireless networks, and they
have attracted large number of 3G
subscribers in half a year. With the
customers requirements-focused
innovation, Huawei is in the process of
providing new products and solutions
in such felds as, HSPA, All IP, CMB/
MBMS, as well as indoor coverage so
as to lead the development of mobile
network technologies.
Focusing on customers challenges
and pressures of vital transformation
in services and networks, Huawei
provide innovative solutions which can
help operators improve the network
performance and quality, and reduce
the construction and maintenance
costs by cutting-edge technologies and
quick response. Thus, Huawei has won
respect and trust of the
globally top50 mobile
operators including
Vodafone, Telefonica,
Deutsch Telekom,
France Telecom,
KPN, Etisalat,
STC, TM, MTN,
MTS, AIS,
China Mobile,
and China
Unicom, etc.
Global mobile
market saluting
the next 2 billion
subscribers
y the end of 2006, the number
of the global mobile subscribers
had risen to 2.5 billion, and it
will exceed 4 billion in the near
future. In the time preceding the arrival
of the emerging mobile market with
next 2 billion subscribers, the telecom
industry is undergoing a reformation.
IP-based mobile broadband solution
is becoming the hotspot in telecom
network development and deployment.
Faced with the vital transformation in
services and networks, how can mobile
operators fnd new strategic partners?
Without doubt, each mobile operator
would have different answers. However,
one can be assured that an equipment
supplier that possesses cutting-edge
technologies and is able to respond
quickly to customers' requirements would
potentially make an excellent co-partner.
Telecom-grade IP, as the key
essential technology of All IP
network, will run through all
network layers
With the popularity of HSPA services,
the IP transmission of mobile access
network is becoming a trend. Since 40
- 80% transmission cost is saved when
HSPA mobile access network adopting IP
transmission, the main mobile operators
around the world start IP transmission
test in succession or are defnite
about the adoption of IP transmission.
Huawei launched Iub IP transmission
solution frstly in 2006. Since Huaweis
new generation UMTS/HSPA Node Bs
support IP transmission and are capable
to provide multiple Iub IP transmission
solutions including TDM-based, MSTP-
based, data-network-based, as well as
dividing transmission based on data-
network and TDM network to be used
in different IP RAN scenarios.
All IP architecture includes all layers
such as service layer, core network,
bearer network and access network,
etc. The development towards All
IP architecture will gradually change
the vertical network, characterized
by technologies and services into
horizontal network for One Network,
All Services, refning the network and
curtailing costs. At the access network
layer, Huawei frstly supports UMTS Iub IP
transmission which dramatically reduces
the transmission costs of HSPA network.
B
At the core network layer, Huawei has
become the worlds largest mobile
softswitch provider thanks to Huaweis
experience of IP QoS, IP security and IP
operation & maintenance etc, helping
the large scale deployment of softswitch
and IMS. At the service domain,
Huawei developed new technical
platform ENIP2.0 which integrated IT
and IP technologies to support multi-
play services including voice, data,
video, content and mobility. Due to
persistent faith of telecom-grade IP
network with such features as, operable
and manageable, and integration of
telecom-grade IP technologies and
other network technologies, Huawei has
obtained the leading position during the
process of migration to All IP network.
End-to-end full performance and
full-band are the trends for HSPA
network while indoor coverage
becomes the crucial issue for
HSPA services
The end-to-end high performance
solution is a must in the deployment
of the full performance HSPA services,
ensuring all layers including service

Better Coverage
Traditional indoor coverage systems
use a large number of cables and power
distributors. The iDBS solution minimizes
the use of cables and power distributors
to fully utilize the transmit power.
For example, in a typical offce
building, the iDBS allows the UE to
transmit at 0.1 percent of the level
allowed by a traditional system, while
maintaining the specifed QoS. This
greatly reduces undesired radiation,
secures better coverage effect, and
prolongs the UEs battery life.
Accurate investment based on precise
hot spot location
The iDBS solution provides an
intelligent, graphic-based uniform
network maintenance tool in
comparison with the simple monitoring
ways available in a traditional system.
Using this tool, operators can carry
out comprehensive monitoring on the
traffc density and equipment operation.
This helps operators precisely locate
hot spots before making corresponding
fne adjustments.

Easy subscriber data migration

Nowadays more and more factors
can affect businesses, resulting in
frequent changes of building functions
and service requirements. The iDBS
solution, with its fexible engineering
and strong adaptability, allows for
VIP data transfer through mere
data confguration, with no need of
network rebuilding.
Easy network expansion
3G frequency resources that

Picture 7 Example of iDBS application

can be used by a network operator
are limited and that can be used
for indoor coverage are even
more scarce. The indoor capacity
expansion of 3G networks is usually
achieved by cell splitting. In a
traditional indoor system, you must
adjust the cabling and configuration
of the system to achieve cell
splitting. The iDBS solution saves the
physical work of re-cabling, and cell
splitting can be achieved through
mere data adjustment.
Featuring simple deployment,
high capacity, fexible confguration,
easy optimization, and centralized
maintenance, the iDBS solution
demonstrates the development trend of
indoor coverage solutions and is bound
to lead the way in indoor network
deployment. Huawei, by leveraging its
advanced technologies, is committed
to carrying on and bringing out more
innovative solutions that address
customers real concerns.
Huawei iDBS delivers indoor HSPA
coverage
he advent of HSPA allows
more and more subscribers
to enjoy extensive and
continuous multimedia and
data services anytime and anywhere.
The indoor coverage system plays a
pivotal role in the development of a
HSPA network.
Conventional indoor coverage
systems have not kept with the
developments in HSPA networking.
Power distributors, couplers, attenuators,
and amplifers cause signal loss, the
antenna sensitivity becomes low and
thus system capacity and network
performance are affected. In addition,
thick and heavy RF cables are diffcult to
deploy inside buildings.
To solve these problems, Huawei has
launched its digital indoor distributed
Node B system, iDBS. The iDBS
solution comprises a series of Huawei
indoor Node B products, including the
BBU3806, RHUB3808 and Pico RRU3801
(pRRU), as shown in picture 6.
The pRRU is a low-power RF module.
It is light and compact and best suits
complicated indoor environments. The
RHUB is a converge unit that has been
developed to add to the fexibility of
the solution. It converges the signals
from the pRRUs to reduce the number
of fbers or CAT5 cables and BBU ports.
The RHUB also remotely provides -48V
power supply to the BBU and pRRU. The
BBU and RHUB are packed in standard
cabinets (1U height and 19 inches
width). This makes their installation and
transportation easy and convenient, just
like a normal router.
Using the iDBS solution, operators
can easily achieve best quality coverage
inside buildings by fexibly combining
the elements of the solution to adapt
specifc conditions. One cell can be
confgured with one pRRU or several
pRRUs. This enables fexible capacity or
coverage area adjustment.

The pRRU is suitable for various
application scenarios. As picture 7
shown, the networking is simple and no
Macro Node B is required.
Benefts of the iDBS Solution
Easy site acquisition
The iDBS uses fbers and CAT5/6
cables instead of thick and heavy RF
cables. This protects building to the
maximum degree and thus reduces the
diffculty of site acquisition. To reduce
deployment cost and diffculty, the
RHUB and RRU are connected using
CAT5 cables, and the BBU and pRRU are
connected using fbers.
High capacity and wide coverage
One iDBS system can support 12
cells and can connect as many as
192 pRRUs and 768 antennas. If one
antenna transmits 0 dBm power and
covers about 400 square meters, the
iDBS can cover more than 300,000
square meters.
Improved network performance
The performance of traditional
indoor coverage solutions largely
depends on the processing capability
of outdoor Node Bs. The iDBS solution
supports full-performance HSDPA and
the maximum data throughput can
reach 14.4 Mbps. Tests showed that the
data throughput of a full-performance
HSDPA network is three times of that

Adopting All IP PARC platform design,
BSC6000 has the highest integrated
density in the industry. Giving full
consideration to network development
and evolution, BSC6000 supports BSC/
RNC sharing platform, and could upgrade
to UMTS RNC with software, protecting
operators investment.
BSC6000 supports the local switching
function, that is, when the calling party
and called party are in the same area
under one BSC, the voice will be directly
switched within the BSC instead of
occupying the tandem link of the Ater
interface. Together with embedded
MGW, it can save operators up to 60%
cost of tandem transport.
Enhanced voice and differentiated
services solution
The EnerG solution introduces
advanced voice algorithm and
background noise control technology,
which decrease the infuence of
interference and handover caused by
cell split and improve voice quality in
half-rate scenario as well.
Enhanced eMLPP + HR hierarchical
service mechanism can increase the
system capacity by 80% and allocates
full-rate channel to priority-ranked users.
Hence, both service traffc and customer
satisfaction are enhanced.
Outperforming the Push-to-Talk service,
the EnerG -Talkie services based on GSM
records an access rate of less than one
second, and supports such professional
trunk communication services as group call,
group SMS, broadcasting call, private call,
and dynamic re-organization of group call,
etc. Such features provide operators new
opportunities to explore enterprise markets.

increasingly ferce competitive
environment, which makes operators to
be preferential in market.

EnerG GSM solution maximizing

mobile network values
lthough global GSM networks develop
rapidly with over 2.5 billion subscribers
worldwide, GSM operators are still
facing such challenges as continuous
comedown of ARPU, increasingly homologous
competitive of services, and constant rising of
OPEX. How to increase the ARPU of the registered
subscribers? How to attract more and more new
subscribers? How to solve these headaches?
And how to maximize GSM network values and
brighten the life torch of GSM network in the
future? Huaweis EnerG GSM solution must be an
ideal way to reduces TCO to the largest extent
through GSM networks capacity, coverage,
deployment, service and evolution.
Introducing 3G and IP technologies into 2G
systems protects the network investment
in the long run
By introducing 3G and IP
technologies including high effciency
PA, End-to-End VoIP, and improved
interference cancelling technologies into
2G systems, Huaweis innovative GSM
base station can realize higher output
power (80 Watts) and receiving sensitivity
(-112.5dBm). If combined with diversity and PBT,
the coverage radius can be increased up to 120%.
For that case, at least 30% the number of
site can be reduced. Furthermore, future-
oriented All-IP platform enables stronger
service bearer capability and keeps the
evolution from 2G to 3G smoother.
In particular, the local switching
function of LCLS provides mobile
operators multi-level local switching
to save mass transmission including both local and
tandem transport.
The industrys smallest 6-TRX outdoor GSM BTS
Huaweis BTS3006C is the smallest and lightest
6-TRX GSM outdoor mini BTS in the industry.
Measured only as a mini BTS, it could realize
same coverage effect of a Macro BTS using high
out-put power design. This BTS adopts all-in-
one defense design. Due to its small size and
fexible installation, it can be installed under
the tower, saving at least 50% footprint. Not
requiring any equipment room to place the BTS,
a lot of manpower and equipment such as air-
conditioners, platforms, and civil works are saved.
Furthermore, the adoption of Huawei proprietary
heat dissipation technology guarantees that
the BTS can work well in an environment under
-40 - 55C. Finally, the BTS features all-weather
compatibility and low power consumption.
More environment-friendly outdoor macro BTS
The maximum 2-hour air-conditioner
electricity storage determines the traditional
outdoor BTS could only work 2 hours without
extra battery. Adopting enhanced intelligent
heat exchange technology, Huawei BTS3012AE
greatly extends electricity storage duration and
can work well under outdoor 50C with low
power consumption, becoming the all-weather
compatible heat exchange BTS. Furthermore, by
using noise isolation technology, the BTS works
quietly at night, so as to achieve the harmony for
living environment.

Selecting new partners to improve
its competitiveness
In the Node B OPEX test initiated
by Vodafone, Huaweis advanced
HSPA Node B got the best overall
evaluation for its small size, low power
consumption, excellent coverage and
support of IP transmission. For the
mobile network construction along
the high-speed railway, the equipment
suppliers usually need to take many
elements into consideration, such as the
equipment performance and wireless
resources management under high-
speed occasions. The call success ratio
of the former 3G equipment supplier of
Vodafone was merely 60% when the
speed of the Spain AVE was 200 km/h.
In November 2005, Vodafone tested the
high-speed coverage performance of
Huawei HSPA network. When the AVE
reached the top speed of 250 km/h, the
voice, video telephone and high-speed
network access services operated stably
and smoothly, with a call success ratio
of 99.7%. In addition, Huaweis HSPA
network passed the stability tests for 3G
services on a 430 km/h maglev train in
Shanghai successfully.
Accelerating HSPA network
deployment by the extensive
application of distributed Node Bs
Huaweis innovative distributed
Node B is composed of two parts:
BBU and RRU. The BBU which is 1 U in
height and 19 inches in width can be
fexibly set with other equipment and
adapted to any environment, without
the need for a special equipment room.
While the RRU can be installed close
to antenna for reduced feeder loss and
improved coverage.
Thousands of distributed Node
Bs will be deployed throughout the
network in Madrid and other major
cities and regions of Spain to accelerate
the deployment of the HSPA network.
This project began in October 2006.

Milestones
In November 2006, Ufone project was going on successfully, with
hundreds of BTSs delivered in compliance with the RFI (Ready for
installation) monthly.
In September 2006, Ufone awarded a contract worth 550 million US
dollars to Huawei for the construction of a GSM network covering 1,500
towns nationwide.
2004, Ufone entered into cooperation with Huawei in an intelligent
network project.
September 2006, Ufone engaged Huawei to
deploy the national GSM network at a contract
value of above 550 million US dollars, which
adopted Huaweis new-generation EnerG GSM
solution, including All-IP core network and new-
generation GSM BTS, to construct a GSM network
that covered 1,500 towns of Pakistan.
Meeting the need of ultra-fast growth of
subscribers
As one of the fastest growing mobile
communication markets in the world, Pakistan is
the target of international operators, featuring
increasingly ferce competition and extremely fast
growth of subscribers. Ufone spent less than 4
months attracting more than 1 million mobile
subscribers. In order to meet the need of rapid
growth of subscribers and support its marketing
strategy, Ufone needs a partner to support its
rapid expansion urgently. Ufone expects the Picture 13 Installation of BTS3012AE under the tower
installation scenario of the distributed
Node B. For example, at a station
with a 45-meter-high tower in Toledo,
Madrid, Spain, the RRU was installed
close to the antenna and connected
with the BBU under the tower via an
optical fber. In this way, 3 dB gain
of the feeder loss is saved and better
network coverage is achieved. Since the
RRU is compact and lightweight, it can
be hoisted to the tower top easily using
a rope, reducing installation costs while
speeding up network deployment.
Adhering to differentiation strategy
to strengthen competitive edges
As one of the leaders in global
mobile communication, Vodafone
adheres to the differentiation
development strategy, and has chosen
Huawei as its frst own-brand handset
supplier. The frst Vodafone-branded
3G handset V710 has been widely used
on its 21 countries.
Vodafone has an insight into the
HSPA network and was the frst to
propose the Iub Overbooking concept
in the industry, which could make full
use of IP transmission resources, access
more users and save transmission costs
by about 30%. In the fve 3G suppliers
of Vodafone, Huawei was the frst 3G
supplier to realize the Iub Overbooking
function and pass Vodafones testing
in 2006. In terms of the delivery ability,
Huawei has 40 teams available for the
network deployment. Based on the
principle of innovating around and
quick response to customer needs,
Huawei developed such leading
solutions as distributed Node B, UMTS
900 MHz, iDBS indoor coverage
and MBMS/CMB (Cell Multimedia
Broadcasting) solution frst in the
industry, which have helped customers
improve network performance, reduce
the total costs of network deployment
and ownership greatly.

partner has the capacity of fast network
deployment and delivery, cutting-age
technology, and long-term investment
protection to expand its existing old
GSM network.
The innovative series of GSM BTS
product family introduces such 3G
technologies as IP architecture, multi-
carrier, high-effciency power amplifer,
enhanced interference combination
and elimination, PBT and other RF
technologies. All of that give the BTS
products greater transmitting power
(80-watt) and higher static single
receiving sensitivity (-112.5 dBm),
which increase coverage radius by
at least 20%, and reduce up to 30%
site number at the same coverage.
The future-oriented All-IP platform is
designed to realize the smooth evolution
from existing 2G to 3G, the stronger
capability of service support, and lower
investments of whole network.
Huawei new-generation outdoor
macro BTS, BTS3012AE, is also
designed to work in the wide operating
temperature range and powerful
environmental adaptation. So it is well
suited to the hot, dry environment
in Pakistan. In Islamabad, the capital
of Pakistan, this kind of BTS is still
running properly in the day-and-night
temperature-difference of up to 20C.
This BTS has enabled faster deployment
for its large capacity and wide coverage.
These characteristics make the BTS3012AE
very popular.
Compared to the traditional
networking style, Huaweis globally
innovative IP-based distributed
networking has the disaster tolerance
and self-healing capabilities, and reduces
CAPEX and OPEX greatly. Huawei has
ingeniously applied mobile softswitch
to GSM network, enabling the GSM
network to upgrade to 3G easily,
which eliminates operators worries
regarding how to invest GSM network
continuously while 3G is booming.
Quick & Quality delivery won trust
Huawei has set up an effcient joint
project team together with senior
experts and engineering technicians
from Ufone. Thanks to the careful
project organization, the construction
of the GSM network is progressing as
scheduled and has gradually entered the
delivery stage. The site processes and
project management are scheduled and
implemented in hours, which is a new
record on the Pakistan communication
history. For this reason, Ufone extend
a great gratitude to Huawei for the
fastest delivery. In November 2006,
Huawei completed hundreds of RFI site
construction by turnkey way including
civil engineering, satisfying the Ufones
need of the monthly increment of nearly
1 million subscribers.
Close cooperation for win-win
Etisalat, Ufones parent company,
is active transnational operator based
on the Middle East. As early as 2003,
Huawei constructed the frst 3G network
in the Middle East for Etisalat. In June
2005, Etisalat signed a memorandum for
establishing the strategic partnership with
Huawei. Etisalat is on a smooth approach
to internationalization, and Huawei has
grown together with the operator in this
course and strengthened its strategic
partnership on a close cooperation basis.
In 2005, Huaweis sales in Pakistan
amounted to 270 US dollars. By the
end of 2006, with its sales increasing
by 200%, Huawei became the largest
telecommunication supplier of Pakistan.
Huawei has successfully established good
cooperation with the major operators in
Pakistan.
