History Farmers Insurance Group was founded by two men by the name of John Tyler and Thomas Leavey. They created the company in 1928 with the intentions to insure people that their belongings and futures are safe. Farmers is currently third in property and casualty in the insurance business. They insure many different lines of business such as, life, property and casualty, business, and finance. Core Business As previously stated the three main lines of business are life, p&c, and business insurance. Primary Competitors The three main competitors are State Farm, All State, and Geico. Sources of Revenue The main source of revenue comes from the insured and financial investments. (Net worth of approx. $20 billion) Hierarchy In ascending order Agent, District Manager, State Executive, Regional Manager, and CEO. Philanthropy Farmers is very involved with many different types of donation organizations and benefits. Farmers also contributes to major catastrophes that happen throughout the United States. Suggestions
Executive Suggestion Focus on one type of line of insurance and promote that line in a way that most people can relate to such as social networks. Customer Service To improve the retaining of Farmers clients they can focus more on the customer service portion of the experience. Examples= Make sure claims are being handled properly.

Previous readings: The readings and movies have seen thus far have helped me view the company from a far and think on how it can really be improved. Overall, I think that the movies have helped me the most because I have been able to relate what the authors have said the most back to what I do in my work place.
