Edge Retention In Service Performance

Typical modified epoxy <40% edge retention

Intershield300 100% edge retention

Long term protection of difficult-to-access areas 15 years in water ballast tank

Edges in water ballast tanks are generally the first areas to experience coating breakdown. Correctly formulated edge retentive coatings mean that the same film thickness can be achieved on edges as that applied to flat surfaces

Universal Application
Typical Vessel Areas
EXTERNAL DECKS

TOPSIDES VOIDS CARGO HOLDS/ CRUDE OIL TANKS

The high performance and flexibility of Intershield300 means the production demands of the shipyard can be satisfied, whilst still meeting the long term in service performance expectations of the vessel owner.

Edge retention - no breakdown on sharp edges after 15 years in service

UNDERWATER HULL

WATER BALLAST TANKS

Typical vessel areas where universal primers can be applied

Anti-Abrasive
Panels show excellent anti-abrasive properties using an in-house test method, developed in association with the Newcastle University Marine Department, UK, which simulates realistic in service conditions. Coatings tested with coal cargo at 31000kg/m2, followed by 18 months immersion in seawater.
True appearance of the coating after cleaning of the ballast tank - 15 years
