VICINO SALVEZZA

CHAPTER 5 SOCIO-ECONOMIC STUDY

Just like any businesses that have been established, the proposed business should also be geared towards not only profit generation but also to benefits it could give to the society. The business does not assure a momentous change in terms of escalation of the standard of living. However, the researchers can somehow mention benefits, direct and indirect benefits, which the business can provide to the society. A brief explanation is given in this study of how Vicino Salvezza participate in the Socio-Economic Aspect. A. EMPLOYMENT AND INCOME The researchers ought to consider the need of hiring a number of skilled workers. The project can create employment opportunities of about 50 people. It also creates a space for those unemployed to be employed as a worker in the office of the Agency where the jobs to be done are only practical and simple like filing, attending calls, sorting of raw materials as such. However, such office job requires the workers to have finished any four-year course. By giving them such job opportunities, they can surely sustain their day-to-day needs and improve the kind of lifestyle they have. The business could also indirectly benefit other businesses, thus it also indirectly benefit the entire economy. Since the business provides a source of income to its workers through its salary, these workers can already have the means to buy their basic needs. More income in the hands of the people would mean greater demand for other goods. Because of this growing

demand of goods, the producers of these goods can stimulate their production, thereby generating further income and also employment to these businesses. B. GOVERNMENT Tax is the lifeblood of the government. The bulk of government expenditure is derived from taxes that they have collected. Just like any legal business entity, Vicino Salvezza, once started its operation, is expected that a portion of its income will be benefited somehow by the society through the imposed taxes. Through these, the business can somehow help the government to perform its duties and to address issues with regards to social welfare. C. Supply of Commodities from Other Industries The business will need supplies and also services from other industry like gasoline from Oil companies for the delivery trucks, light, water, communication and other supplies needed, thus helping these industries increase their revenue or sales. Industries which are the producers of the basic needs of the people are also indirectly benefited since the employees of the agency can already afford to buy these needs through the salary given to them by the agency. Financial Institutions can also benefit from the business since financing the business would also require borrowing funds through loan. Through these, the financial institutions can now pay their investors through the interest generated by the loans borrowed. Also, materials used in production are bought from the local producers if available. This is to ensure that the local materials inside the country are being used before importing such in foreign markets. This is what we call Tangkilikin ang sariling atin.
