1. Before filling-out this Form, please carefully read introduction of the Youth Parliament Pakistan. You should fill out this Form and submit it to PILDAT only if you understand and agree with the objectives and requirements of work relating to the membership of the Youth Parliament. 2. Four recent passport size coloured photographs of the applicant must be attached to this application. 3. Copy of the computerized National Identification Card / Pakistan Origin Card (POC) and the domicile certificate (Except if you are a POC holder) must be attached with the application. A copy of the Passport will also be required in the case of applicants from outside Pakistan. 4. All questions must be answered in the space provided. No extra sheets may be attached. 5. EOI can also be submitted online at eoi@youthparliament.pk. If submitted online; relevant material should be attached online as well or sent via email. 6. The form must be COMPLETELY filled in and signed by the applicant. Please use BLOCK LETTERS throughout Part A of the Form.

Key Features of the Youth Parliament


1. The Youth Parliament project is conceived and implemented by Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development And Transparency - PILDAT. Financial support for the project is being provided by the Danish International Development Agency, Government of Denmark. Total membership of the Youth Parliament is to be 60. Youth Parliament will be generally patterned after the National Assembly of Pakistan in terms of its rules of procedure and conduct of business. The Youth Parliament will have a life of approximately one year while it will meet for at least 25 days in the year at five 5-day sessions in Islamabad. Youth Parliament is to have representation of females along with other segments of the society such as rural population, religious minorities, etc. roughly in the national proportion. The age of members would be between 18 and 29 years on January 01, 2012. Interested Pakistani youth can apply only for membership for the entire one year term but Overseas Pakistanis and holders of the Pakistani Origin Card (POC) may also apply for the individual sessions. An independent Selection Committee will finalise selection for membership of the Youth Parliament Pakistan. If an applicant or a person on his/her behalf approaches PILDAT or the Selection Committee directly or indirectly to influence the selection process, the applicant will stand disqualified. Media will be invited to cover the proceedings of Youth Parliament through a Press Gallery. Proceedings of the Youth Parliament will be placed on the website of Youth Parliament as a verbatim record.

10. The Youth Parliament will have a visitors' gallery where general public could observe its proceedings after obtaining passes from the Youth Parliament Secretariat. 11. A change in the key features may be made by PILDAT at any time without any advance notice. However, an effort will be made to provide sufficient notice about the change to the concerned persons. 12. Many candidates were disqualified in the past for plagiarizing their answers to the questions in part B. Candidates are requested to write their original answers.

Terms and Conditions (for Overseas Pakistanis Only)


Who is an Overseas Pakistani? A person holding valid Pakistani passport but residing outside Pakistan under legal authorization of the country of residence, or A person who either herself / himself or her/his both or one parent is of Pakistani origin and the person, though citizen of another country, holds a Pakistani Origin Card issued by the Government of Pakistan. Applicant should provide a valid proof of being an Overseas Pakistani. Applicant may be interviewed on telephone, if required prior to final Selection. Selected Applicants will have to pay for their travel cost from overseas to Pakistan and Return.
