Applied Management Research Project Course code: BM60027 in 3rd semester and BM60028 in 4th semester Credit: (0-0-6:

4 Credit) in 3rd semester and (0-0-6: 4 Credit) in 4th semester Total marks: 100 marks in3rd semester and 100 marks in 4th semester
Project Objective: Students would be assigned project where they are expected utilize business functionality specific knowledge as well as knowledge acquired in courses like Statistical Methods for Management, Mathematical Models for Management, Business Research Methods. As part of this project, they would be identifying an issue in any organization/ Industry, develop a conceptual framework or model, collect appropriate data, analyze data, document and submit their findings in terms of validating/refuting an existing management practice/theory, develop a new model/case study/research paper, or give solution to the problem at hand. The project should have a focus towards responsible business practices and sustainability. This project will be an individual project. Industry live projects can also be taken but to qualify for AMRP it should have strong theoretical, conceptual and methodological backing- i.e. more research oriented- findings of which can be generalized for similar organizations or business situations etc. Also no leave will be sanctioned for collecting data or visiting the company etc. Project Guidance: Guide will be allocated by Prof-in-charge Applied Management Research Project based on students and faculty members mutual area of interest. The same guide will continue for two semesters unless a change is approved by Dean VGSOM. Depending on the
interdisciplinary nature of the project joint guides may be taken. The Principal guide from VGSOM is entrusted with the responsibility of choice, selection and communication with the co-guide (intra or inter departmental) and monitoring the student for academic progress.

Project Selection and Approval: Project selection would be done by the concerned faculty member. The same project may continue for two semesters in the form of Part 1 and Part 2 or the students may undertake different projects in the two semesters. Project Evaluation: Total 100 marks for Applied Management Research Project consist of:

Components Project Guides evaluation based on assessment of day to day work of the student on his/her project Midterm presentation in front of faculty board End term presentation and viva voce in front of faculty board Guide's evaluation of end term

Faculty board will evaluate the students based on the quality of the deliverables.

1. Deliverable by the students for 3rd sem Applied Management Research Project is a working paper as per requirement of VGSOM working paper series. The final presentation slides and the working paper must be uploaded to slideshare and scribd. A standard template for these would be provided to the students well in advance.

2. Deliverable by the students for 4th sem Applied Management Research Project is a research paper or a case study following instructions to authors given in journals. The research paper or the case study should be sent to an appropriate journal for publication.
