Gears of War 2 UNLOCKABLES:

Unlockable How to Unlock

Kantus To unlock Kantus for use in multiplayer, complete Act 2 in single-
player mode on any difficulty.
Skorge To unlock Skorge for use in multiplayer, complete Act 5 in single-
player mode on any difficulty.
Flame Grenadier To unlock the Flame Grenadier for use in multiplayer, complete
Act 4 in single-player mode on any difficulty.
Insane Difficulty To unlock the Insane Difficulty level, complete the game once
through on any difficulty setting previously available.
RAAM To unlock RAAM for use in multiplayer, have the “A Dish Best
Served Cold” achievement on your hard drive from the original
Gears of War.
Dizzy Wallin To unlock Dizzy Wallin for use in multiplayer, complete Act 1 in
single-player mode on any difficulty.
Anthony Carmine To unlock Anthony Carmine for use in multiplayer, have any Act
1-related achievements unlocked on your hard drive from the
original Gears of War.
Tai Kaliso To unlock Tai Kaliso for use in multiplayer, complete Act 3 in
single-player mode on any difficulty.
Lt. Minh Young Kim To unlock Lt. Minh Young Kim for use in multiplayer, have the
“Time to Remember” achievement on your hard drive from the
original Gears of War.
Gears of War 2 HINTS:

Hint 1: Eleven Executions

Apart from the 15 weapon kills (all of them are in the manual, aside from the Troika and
Boomshield), the unique executions are probably the hardest things to figure out. You must
have an opponent on the ground and crawling to do these executions. Luckily, you can do them
on any mode (campaign, horde, multiplayer, etc.). Anyway, there they are:

• Curb Stomp -- BLUE button with any weapon.

• Punch Combo -- YELLOW button with any weapon (except the ones listed below).
• Neck Snap -- press GREEN button to take an enemy hostage, then context action to
snap necks.
• Any weapon (except the ones below w/ RED fatal) -- RED button fatality
• Longshot -- YELLOW button fatality
• Longshot (alternate) -- RED button fatality.
• Boltok -- YELLOW button fatality.
• BoomShield -- YELLOW button fatality.
• Gnasher -- RED button fatality (hold while stationary over victim).
• Torque Bow -- YELLOW button fatality.
• Torque Bow (alternate) -- RED button fatality.

Hint 2: Difficulty Trick

If you want to beat the game on Insane Difficulty but are having trouble, try the following.
Start each chapter on Casual Difficulty after having unlocked Insane Difficulty. Then, before
reaching the final checkpoint on any given chapter, switch the difficulty over from Casual to
Insane. Then, finish the chapter. The game will record that you’ve completed that particular
chapter on Insane Difficulty, even though you played a vast majority of the chapter on Casual
Difficulty.
