NOTICES
1. ATTENTION : TO ALL FACULTY NATION WIDE LAUNCH OF VIRTUAL LABS BY HON'BLE MINISTER FOR HRD, SRI KAPIL SIBAL ON A-VIEW. Honourable Minister for HRD, Sri Kapil Sibal, will remotely launch, through A-View, the 'Virtual labs developed by a consortium of Institutes including IITs and other Institutes, as part of National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT) activity. All the faculty who are interested to attend. MID SEMESTER EXAMINATIONS - INVIGILATIONS: Mid Semester Examinations are scheduled from 27-02-2012 to 05-03-2012 in three sessions 8:30AM to 10:30AM, 11:00AM to 1:00PM and 3:00PM to 5:00PM. The control room for the examinations is located in the Seminar Hall of Civil Engineering Department (Room No. 716). All the invigilators are to be present in the Control room half-an-hour before scheduled time of Examination. Please maintain the reporting timings mentioned in the invigilation duties without fail. All the invigilators are to reach the allotted examination hall at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start of exam. Ensure that every student carries his/her identity card (Please check name, roll number of the student and validity date, on the reverse side of the card). It is found that some students have, in the past, appeared for exams with identify card of some other student. Please check whether the ID card produced is a colour photocopied one. In case of doubt, inform control room. Also ensure that no student carries any electronic gadget like cell phones etc in to the examination room. They have to kept either outside or near the door of the room at own risk of student. Please inform the students, that if found to be in pocession of any electronic gadget while appearing for the exam, he/she will be sent out of the examination, and gadgets will be confiscated and the punishment could be award of F grade in the subject. Please ensure that each student carries only one calculator and also ensure that calculators are not exchanged during examination. Further please check that nothing is written on the covers of the calculators. Do not allow any student into the examination commencement of examination. room half-an-hour after

Warn the students, who report to examination room after scheduled commencement of the exam that they shall come to examination hall on time. Do not allow any student to leave the examination room within the first one-andhalf hours. Please ensure that pen/pencil pouches do not contain any written material in them. MID SEMESTER EXAMINATIONS FEBRUARY / MARCH 2012:

All the students appearing for the Mid Semester examination have to Produce Identity card as and when the demanded. No other document/certificate issued by any person in the institute shall be considered as equivalent to the Identity card. Not to keep the mobile phone or any other electronic gadgets in their possession during the examination. If any person is found with these electronic gadgets during the examination he/she will be sent out from the examination hall and will be awarded zero marks in the concerned subjects. Not to indulge any act of malpractice. If any person is found in indulging in examination malpractice he/she can be awarded a severe punishments including award of F grade in the concerned subject or in all the subjects registered in the semester. Candidates are to be seated in the allotted seats in the examination halls before the scheduled time of examination. Candidates reporting late to the examination may not be permitted

ISSUE OF DUPLICATE IDENTITY CARDS:

1) As per the decision of Senate, duplicate identity cards will be issued to the students on production of a letter recommended by concerned Head of the Department, Chief Warden and Security Officer. The students have to pay a penalty of Rs.100/- for the first duplicate card, Rs.500/- for second and third and Rs.1000/- from fourth card onwards. This amount is to paid in the Library and the card valid up to normal period will be issued. 2) During the examination period, duplicate identity card will be issued immediately (even in the absence of the recommendations) by the library on payment of Rs.1000/-, even if it is for the first time. These Cards, issued during examination time will be valid only up to the last day of examination and has to be replaced with regular card as detailed in (1) above. These will come into effect immediately. Regular identity cards will be issued up to 25-022012 and after mid-semester examinations. During the mid-semester examinations from 27th February, 2012 to 5th March, 2012, identity cards will be issued from 08.00 A.M. to 04.00 P.M. everyday as per (2) above. This note supersedes the earlier note sent in this regard.

Eligibility: 1. As regards Merit:

Full pass in one and the first attempt with first class or at least 60% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination for admission to B.Tech I year. The award of Institute Merit and Merit-cumMeans scholarships is based on the performance in the I semester examination for B.Tech I year students and for B.Tech II year students in which branch they exists after sliding of the branch, based on the performance of preceding year C.G.P.A.

As regards Merit-cum-Means:

The Income of the parent/guardian of the student from all sources should not exceed 25,000/- per annum in case of professionals / businessmen / agriculturist. In case of salaried persons, the total income from all sources should not exceed 35,000/- per annum.

Students receiving any other scholarships are not eligible for these awards.

Award of scholarship: Merit: 1)

100/- p,a., a Merit Certificate and reimbursement of Tuition Fee for the students whose parents income is more than limit. 2) 75/- p.m and reimbursement of Tuition fee for student whose parents income is within the limit.
