Use the LED blink chart to help diagnose the problem.

Is 2.9 volts present at pin 7 of P810 as soon as on/off is pressed?

Use the LED blink chart to help diagnose the problem.

Is 2.9 volts present at pin 7 of P810 as soon as on/off is pressed?

Picture Problems If the LCD Control Board is available, try it. If this does not help, replace the LCD display panel. ***

Is the screen discolored or does it have streaks or dark areas with no signal input?

When the input button is pressed on the receiver or remote, is the on screen display clear and normal?

Troubleshoot for backlight problelms. Replace the Main Module. NO

(P)* - 46 and 52 inch RV models contain a P-power supply module.

Using an oscilloscope, can an LVDS signal be detected at CN60 on the Main PCB?

YES

This signal viewed from LVDS connector referencing cold ground.

Suspect the LCD Control board.

Backlight Problems

NO

Does the back light function and then turn off?

YES

NO (P)* - 46 and 52 inch RV models contain a Ppower supply module.


Replace the (P)* Power supply module.

Is 24 VDC present at pins 1 through 5 of P860 and P861 when the unit is turned on?

YES

If it is available, try one or both CCF inverters. If this does not help, replace the LCD display. ***

NO

Is 12VDC present at pins 1 and 2 of P810A when the unit is turned on?

YES

If it is available, replace the display T-Control PCB. If it is not available, replace the LCD display. ***

If LVDS connector CN60 is unplugged, Is 12VDC present at pins 1 and 2 of P810A when the unit is turned on?

NO

Is 3.2VDC present at pin 5 of P810A when the unit is turned on?

NO

Suspect the main module.

Sound Problems

Distorted

Is there no sound or is the audio distorted?

No Sound

NO

If the input selection is changed, does audio appear?

YES

NO

Is 18VDC present at pin 13 of P811A when the unit is turned on?

YES

Problem solved.

Suspect the (S)* power supply module.

*P811A is located on the S power supply in the 46 and 52inch models

Replace the Main module

2008 Single Power Supply LCD LED Blinks 3 Times Constantly (Stuck in Boot Cycle)
Yes

Does a front LED continually blink 3 times then pause?

No

Refer to LED error codes Do any of the LEDs on the main PCB light?

Yes

No

If set is in the power save mode, the 12 volts may be missing. If unsure about mode, disconnect AC for 30 seconds, reapply AC and check 12 volts. Voltage should be present for a short period regardless of mode.

No

Unplug the LVDS cable. Disconnect AC for 30 seconds, reapply AC. Does the front LED stop blinking?

Yes

No

Is 12 volts present at the power PCB at P811A?

Yes

Try booting set using firmware update card or replace main PCB.

Suspect the T-Con PCB on the display. Yes

To boot the set using update card: 1. Remove AC. 2. Insert firmware update card. 3. Reapply AC. Both LEDs should light. 4. After several minutes the amber LED should turn off. 5. Remove card, then remove AC for 30 seconds. 6. Reapply AC and set should operate normally.

Unplug the LVDS cable. Disconnect AC for 30 seconds, reapply AC. Does the front LED Stop blinking?

Suspect the main PCB. No

Suspect the power PCB.

2008 Dual Power Supply LCD LED Blinks 3 Times Constantly (Stuck in Boot Cycle)
Yes

Does a front LED continually blink 3 times then pause?

No

Refer to LED error codes Do any of the LEDs on the main PCB light?

Yes

No

If set is in the power save mode, the 12 volts may be missing. If unsure about mode, disconnect AC for 30 seconds, reapply AC and check 12 volts. Voltage should be present for a short period regardless of mode.

Yes

Suspect the main PCB.

To boot the set using update card: 1. Remove AC. 2. Insert firmware update card. 3. Reapply AC. Both LEDs should light. 4. After several minutes the amber LED should turn off. 5. Remove card, then remove AC for 30 seconds. 6. Reapply AC and set should operate normally.

Update Process
Updating this chassis family is accomplished using an SD card furnished by Toshiba. With the unit operating, insert the card into the card slot labeled Service only located on either the side or back of the instrument. After the card is inserted, simply follow the step by step update instructions displayed on the screen.
