1. Which is the most important action for a nurse to take when considering the spirituality needs of a patient? As a nurse we should always know what the client needs because if we make a mistake in assessing the need of the patient the result of it can worsen the situation of the patient. We should always think what is best for our client because that is the essence of being a nurse, to help our client in every way we can. It is also important to determine who can best meet the patients needs because through that the nursing care will be more effective that could fasten the recovery of the client.

2. When is the best time to assess the spiritual needs of the patient? It is always important to gain the trust of the patient because it is the first step in establishing a good relationship with the client, if the client feels that they can trust you it will be easier for us to deliver our nursing care because when you gain the trust of the client they will cooperate with us in caring for their spiritual needs and also a good rapport means that there is a good communication between the nurse and the patient.

3. Your 20 year old patient has a miscarriage. She tells you that she no longer believes in god because a just god would not make her suffer like she is. Which nursing diagnosis would be most appropriate? Because of her miscarriage her spiritual belief has been change, so her distress is caused by the miscarriage that she experience that causes her ineffective individual coping, as a nurse we should use our therapeutic communication in talking to the client so she can realize what should be better to do and for her to identify ways to cope with the situation that she is experiencing so she can deal with it better and that she could heal in her spiritual distress.

4. Which strategy would be most beneficial in assessing a patients spiritual needs?

The most beneficial strategy in assessing the spiritual needs of the patient is through listening to the client because through listening you will be able to assess what the client is feeling and experiencing on how the situation affects his or her life or how they are dealing with it and through that we can now plan for the spiritual care of the client. 5. Why should consideration of spiritual needs be an essential part of nursing care? Because nursing emphasizes care of the whole person not only physically but also other aspects of our life which includes our spirituality because our beliefs has an impact in our well being it is in a way related to one another because if you have a good faith and belief, you will not do thing that can harm yourself or others and you will think in a way that the god wants you to do no matter what your religion

Spirituality is a broader term that encompasses religious beliefs because religion is consists of a set path or working guide for enlightenment and salvation while spirituality is the desire and drive behind what a person believes in and it is accompanied by religion.

The contemporary views of spirituality influences the practice of nursing through the individuals need and expressions determine the emphasis of care because the plan of care is based on the clients needs and what is effective to one client may not be effective to the other so it is the nurse who will adjust depending on what the clients needs and beliefs in order to achieve the desired outcome that the health provider wants to achieve.

8. How does the eastern worldview of spirituality impact nursing? According to the eastern worldview, religious beliefs emphasize the value of the individual because they think that their religion is their way of life and they follow it in order to become a good son of the god because for easterners it is an important aspect of their life, their practices and for them to be enlighten and be save from salvation.

9. What is the relationship between spirituality and health? According to our beliefs our god has created us and that our soul, mind, and body is connected to one another and work together according to his design. Because we are design by our god we live according to his principles and teachings to us, so our spirituality is essential to our wellness because they are connected to our soul and body and if one is missing our body will not function well that will lead to our illness.

10. How does culture impact a persons spirituality during illness? Culture is consists of socially transmitted knowledge of values, beliefs, norms, and way of life of a particular group that guides their thoughts. When illness is present the spirituality is affected because the client will think the god dont love them anymore or they will question the god that why did the god let that happen to them, so as a nurse what we can to is to make the client realize that everything has its purpose and the lord is always there for them.
