HEC Paris offers a top-level executive program for experienced managers from the Aerospace and Aviation industry in a convenient two one-week module format. This program has been designed to sharpen participants strategic analysis and decision-making skills, helping them get a grip on the complex challenges and strategic opportunities in this deregulated and dynamic sector of the global economy. Participants can choose to do this program as a specialization within the Executive MBA or as a stand alone program leading to an Advanced Certificate in Aerospace and Aviation.

HEC EXECUTIVE MBA, AEROSPACE & AVIATION

This program combines HECs cutting-edge business theory with industry-specific expertise from leading base trame point reg aviation and aerospace actors worldwide (Concordia Aviation Management Institute, AirBusiness Academy, ICAO, IATA, ACI, MIT). The HEC Executive MBA program prepares senior managers and executives to assume positions of leadership in their organizations above and beyond their core business or technical expertise. Developing a hands-on approach to the issues that are most relevant to participants and their companies, the HEC Executive MBA emphasizes strategic management and leadership.

Since 2007, the Executive MBA has offered an optional specialization to Aerospace and Aviation industry executives. This option allows participants to combine the full richness and diversity of the general HEC Executive MBA with specific modules which focus on the challenges of piloting a business within the Aerospace and Aviation sector. Alternatively, candidates may choose to complete the program on its own, obtaining an Advanced Certificate in Aerospace and Aviation Management.

PROGRAM

The Aerospace and Aviation program is built around two week-long intensive modules, each looking at the Aerospace and Aviation industry from a different perspective. Such an approach affords original insights into the future of the industry and how, as a business leader, you can best prepare for it.

Module 1

Anticipating future Trends and Managing Risks (Montreal, Canada) The first module takes place in Montreal, Canada, the worldwide capital of the aviation industry. It centers on the economics of the aviation industry, the role of international institutions, their impact on strategy and risk management. This seminar is hosted by the Aviation Management Institute of Concordia University with visiting professors from MIT, McGill Air & Space Law Institute and international North American industry lecturers.

Module 2

Corporate Strategies for Growth (Toulouse, Paris, france) The second module takes participants first to Toulouse, hosted by AirBusiness Academy, then to HEC in Paris. The participants will interface with European experts: HEC & AirBusiness Academy professors, a selection of lecturers from leading industry companies and consulting firms. It focuses on how to integrate internal competitive advantages and in-depth understanding of the industry into successful corporate strategies in the complex Aerospace and Aviation deregulated sectors.

TEAM RESEARCH PROJECT


All participants in the program will elect a strategic issue to address throughout the program, building on their own experience and capitalizing on the expertise found in their professional networks and the input of the many industry experts present in the program. An HEC advisor will encourage participants to assess the implications for different industry actors while identifying business opportunities: new customer value propositions, alternative business models, adapted monitoring and action plans.

Two weeks: Two one-week modules fixed in May and October respectively, delivered in Montreal, Canada and Toulouse/Paris, france Each module has a 5-day schedule, for a total of 10 days In 2011, the first module will take place during the week of May 16th to 20th 2011 and the second module during the week of October 17th to 21st 2011.

TEACHING METHODS

Case studies are used as a main tool throughout the program, providing practice for the participants to solve issues pertaining to managing a business.Team projects invite participants to develop their collaborative and leadership skills, enhance their capacity to critically analyze business problems and make decisions based on real-world situations. Valuable practical insights are also provided by top executives and key experts, enriching academic content by first-hand experience.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Tution fees 16000 including teaching fees, academic material, room and board in both locations. Travel expenses to all modules and accomodations costs in Paris are not included. Price is not subject to VAT.

The program is geared toward executives and senior managers with: a minimum of eight years of professional experience; significant business experience within the Aerospace or Aviation sectors; an international mindset; recognized professional achievements and/or involvement in their companys strategy; the potential to take on greater managerial responsibilities; motivation to pursue clearly identified professional objectives; a professional level in English is required (IELTS, TOEIC or TOEFL for applicants whose mother tongue is not English or candidates who do not hold a university degree from an English speaking institution).
