I believe that this good news of our salvation, which comes to us only through Jesus Christ our risen Lord, is for both Jew and Gentile. I believe that anyone who hears and willfully rejects this great offer of salvation, who willfully refuses to turn away from doing evil, and who willfully refuses to do good works, is forever and rightfully damned to receive the eternal punishment of almighty God, because I believe what Jesus, in the Gospels, has said. My hope is that all both Jew and Gentile will repent of (turn away from) their evil deeds (sins), believe in the resurrected Christ (have faith), and begin doing good for all peoples everywhere (good deeds) so that all might be saved and so that none should ever be damned. This is the only way we, together, can do Gods will, which is to love one another, as a human community on earth, just as his will is being done by the community of angels and saints who are in heaven. ~ A. As regards the gospel, they [unbelieving Jews] are enemies of God for your sake [Gentiles]. But as regards election, they [unbelieving Jews] are beloved for the sake of their forefathers. believed. But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers. (Acts 14:1-2) But we [believing Jews, or: Christians] believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they [Gentiles] will. (Acts 15:11) And some of them [believing Jews] were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, as did a great many of the devout Greeks [Gentiles] and not a few of the leading women. But the Jews were jealous, and taking some wicked men of the rabble, they formed a mob, set the city in an uproar, and attacked the house of Jason, seeking to bring them out to the crowd. (Acts 17:4-5) Now these Jews [in Berea] were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so. Many of them therefore believed, with not a few Greek women of high standing as well as men. But when the Jews from Thessalonica learned that the word of God was proclaimed by Paul at Berea also, they came there too, agitating and stirring up the crowds. (Acts 17: 11-13) Paul was occupied with the word, testifying to the [unbelieving] Jews that the Christ was Jesus. And when they opposed and reviled him, he shook out his garments and said to them, Your blood be on your own heads! I am innocent. From now on I will go to the Gentiles. Acts 18:5-6) But when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the [unbelieving] Jews made a united attack on Paul and brought him before the tribunal, saying, This man is persuading people to worship God contrary to the law. (Acts 18:12-13) [H]e [Apollos] powerfully refuted the [unbelieving] Jews in public, showing by the Scriptures that the Christ was Jesus. (Acts 18:28) And he [St Paul] entered the synagogue and for three months spoke boldly, reasoning and persuading them about the kingdom of God. But when some [ unbelieving Jews] became stubborn and continued in unbelief, speaking evil of the Way before the congregation, he withdrew from them and took the disciples with him, reasoning daily in the hall of Tyrannus. This continued for two years, so that all the residents of Asia heard the word of the Lord, both Jews and Greeks [Gentiles]. (Acts 19:8-10) When we had come to Jerusalem, the brothers received us gladly. On the following day Paul went in with us to James, and all the elders were present. After greeting them, he related one by one the things that God had done among the Gentiles through his [St. Pauls] ministry. And when they heard it, they gloried God. And they said to him, You see, brother, how many thousands there are among the Jews of those who have believed. (Acts 21:17-20)

When the seven days were almost completed, the [unbelieving] Jews from Asia, seeing him in the temple, stirred up the whole crowd and laid hands on him, crying out, Men of Israel, help! This is the man who is teaching everyone everywhere against the people and the law and this place. Moreover, he even brought Greeks [Gentiles] into the temple and has deled this holy place. For they had previously seen Trophimus the Ephesian with him in the city, and they supposed that Paul had brought him into the temple. Then all the city was stirred up, and the people ran together. They seized Paul and dragged him out of the temple, and at once the gates were shut. And as they were seeking to kill him, word came to the tribune of the cohort that all Jerusalem was in confusion. (Acts 21:27-21) And I [St. Paul] said, Lord, they themselves know that in one synagogue after another I imprisoned and beat those who believed in you. And when the blood of Stephen your witness was being shed, I myself was standing by and approving and watching over the garments of those who killed him. And he said to me, Go, for I will send you far away to the Gentiles. (Acts 22:19-21) When it was day, the [unbelieving] Jews made a plot and bound themselves by an oath neither to eat nor drink till they had killed Paul. There were more than forty who made this conspiracy. They went to the chief priests and elders and said, We have strictly bound ourselves by an oath to taste no food till we have killed Paul. Now therefore you, along with the council, give notice to the tribune to bring him down to you, as though you were going to determine his case more exactly. And we are ready to kill him before he comes near. (Acts 23:12-14) I myself was convinced that I ought to do many things in opposing the name of Jesus of Nazareth. And I did so in Jerusalem. I not only locked up many of the saints in prison after receiving authority from the chief priests, but when they were put to death I cast my vote against them. And I punished them often in all the synagogues and tried to make them blaspheme, and in raging fury against them I persecuted them even to foreign cities. (Acts 26:9-11) Therefore, O King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, but declared rst to those in Damascus, then in Jerusalem and throughout all the region of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds in keeping with their repentance. For this reason the Jews seized me in the temple and tried to kill me. To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would come to pass: that the Christ must suffer and that, by being the rst to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light both to our people [Jews] and to the Gentiles. (Acts 26:19-23) But because the [unbelieving] Jews objected, I was compelled to appeal to Caesar though I had no charge to bring against my nation [Israel]. For this reason, therefore, I have asked to see you and speak with you, since it is because of the hope of Israel [the Messiah Christ Jesus] that I am wearing this chain. (Acts 28:19-20)

When they had appointed a day for him, they came to him at his lodging in greater numbers. From morning till evening he expounded to them, testifying to the kingdom of God and trying to convince them about Jesus both from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets. And some [Jews] were convinced by what he said, but others [Jews] disbelieved. And disagreeing among themselves, they departed after Paul had made one statement: The Holy Spirit was right in saying to your fathers through Isaiah the prophet: Go to this people [Jews], and say, You will indeed hear but never understand, and you will indeed see but never perceive. For this peoples [Jews] heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed; lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them. Therefore let it be known to you [unbelieving Jews] that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will listen. (Acts 28:23-28) What then? Are we Jews any better off? No, not at all. For we have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks [Gentiles], are under sin. (Romans 3:9) And Isaiah cries out concerning Israel [Israel, unbelieving Jews, Judaism]: Though the number of the sons of Israel [unbelieving Jews] be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will be saved [believing Jews, or: Christians], for the Lord will carry out his sentence upon the earth fully and without delay. And as Isaiah predicted, If the Lord of hosts had not left us offspring, we would have been like Sodom and become like Gomorrah. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to Gods righteousness. For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. (Romans 11:11-12) They [unbelieving Jews] were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do not become proud, but fear. For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you. Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but Gods kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off.
