All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people [H]e [Apollos] powerfully refuted

the [unbelieving] Jews in public, showing by the Scriptures that the Christ was Jesus. (Acts 18:28) Image - St. Paul Preaching to the Jews in the Synagogue at Damascus This writers hope and belief I believe in the risen Christ the Son of the living God who is the living savior of all humankind. I believe that this good news of our salvation, which comes to us only through Jesus Christ our risen Lord, is for both Jew and Gentile. I believe that anyone who hears and willfully rejects this great offer of salvation, who willfully refuses to turn away from doing evil, and who willfully refuses to do good works, is forever and rightfully damned to receive the eternal punishment of almighty God, because I believe what Jesus, in the Gospels, has said. My hope is that all both Jew and Gentile will repent of (turn away from) their evil deeds (sins), believe in the resurrected Christ (have faith), and begin doing good for all peoples everywhere (good deeds) so that all might be saved and so that none should ever be damned. This is the only way we, together, can do Gods will, which is to love one another, as a human community on earth, just as his will is being done by the community of angels and saints who are in heaven. ~ A. J. MacDonald, Jr. It is true that the church is the new people of God, yet the [unbelieving] Jews should not be spoken of as rejected or accursed as if this followed from holy scripture. Consequently, all must take care, lest in catechizing or in preaching the word of God, they teach anything which is not in accord with the truth of the Gospel message or the spirit of Christ. Declaration on the Revelation of the Church to Non-Christian Religions: Nostra Aetate; proclaimed by his holiness Pope Paul VI on October 28, 1965 (emphasis added) "TheJewsas a nation were rejected because of theirsins, and were to have no part in theKingdom of Heaven. This rejection had been several times predicted by theprophets, and St. Matthew shows that it was because of its incredulity thatIsraelwas excluded from the Kingdom, he dwells on all the events in which the increasing obduracy of the Jewish nation is conspicuous, manifested rst in the princes and then in thehatredof the people who beseechPilateto putJesusto death. Thus the Jewish nation itself was accountable for its exclusion from theMessianic kingdom."Catholic Encyclopedia

As regards the gospel, they [unbelieving Jews] are enemies of God for your sake [Gentiles]. But as regards election, they [unbelieving Jews] are beloved for the sake of their forefathers. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. For just as you [Gentiles] were at one time disobedient to God but now have received mercy because of their disobedience, so they too have now been disobedient in order that by the mercy shown to you they [unbelieving Jews] also may now receive mercy. For God has consigned all to disobedience, that he may have mercy on all. (Romans 11:28-32; emphasis added) For all who rely on works of the law [Israel, unbelieving Jews, Judaism] are under a curse; for it is written, Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them. (Galatians 3:10) If anyone [Jew or Gentile] has no love for the Lord, let him be accursed. (1 Corinthians 16:22) Jesus answered them [Israel, unbelieving Jews, Judaism], Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. I know that you are offspring of Abraham; yet you seek to kill me because my word nds no place in you. I speak of what I have seen with my Father, and you do what you have heard from your father [the devil]. (John 8:34-38; see also: 8:39-47) The Son of Man [Jesus] must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes [national Israel, unbelieving Jews, Judaism], and be killed, and on the third day be raised. (Luke 9:22) What will the owner [God] of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the tenants [Israel, unbelieving Jews, and Judaism] and give the vineyard to others [believing Gentiles or: Christians]. (Mark 12:9) O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not! See, your house is left to you desolate. (Matthew 23:37-38) Moses said, The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers. You shall listen to him in whatever he tells you. And it shall be that every soul who does not listen to that prophet shall be destroyed from the people. (Acts 3:22-23) When they [unbelieving Jews] heard this, they were enraged and wanted to kill them. (Acts 5:33) The God of our fathers raised Jesus, whom you [Israel, unbelieving Jews, Judaism] killed by hanging him on a tree. God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and

Savior, to give repentance to Israel [Israel, unbelieving Jews, Judaism] and forgiveness of sins. (Acts 5:30-31) You stiff-necked people [Israel, unbelieving Jews, Judaism], uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you. Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who announced beforehand the coming of the Righteous One, whom you [unbelieving Jews] have now betrayed and murdered, you who received the law as delivered by angels and did not keep it. (Acts 7:51-53) [T]he [unbelieving] Jews plotted to kill him [Paul] (Acts 9:23) And the believers from among the circumcised [believing Jews or: Christians] who had come with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out even on the Gentiles. For they were hearing them speaking in tongues and extolling God. (Acts 10:45-46) And they [believing Jews, or: Christians] gloried God, saying, Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance that leads to life. (Acts 11:18) Let it be known to you therefore, brothers [unbelieving Jews], that through this man [Jesus] forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you [unbelieving Jews], and by him everyone [Jews and Gentiles] who believes is freed from everything from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses. Beware, therefore, lest what is said in the Prophets should come about: Look, you scoffers, be astounded and perish; for I am doing a work in your days, a work that you will not believe, even if one tells it to you. As they went out, the people begged that these things might be told them the next Sabbath. And after the meeting of the synagogue broke up, many Jews and devout converts to Judaism followed Paul and Barnabas [became Christians], who, as they spoke with them, urged them to continue in the grace of God. (Acts 13:38-43) But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were lled with jealousy and began to contradict what was spoken by Paul, reviling him. And Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, saying, It was necessary that the word of God be spoken rst to you. Since you thrust it aside and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we are turning to the Gentiles. For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth. And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed. And the word of the Lord was spreading throughout the whole region. But the [unbelieving] Jews incited the devout women of high standing and the leading men of the city, stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their district. (Acts 13:44-50) Now at Iconium they [Christians] entered together into the Jewish synagogue and spoke in such a way that a great number of both Jews and Greeks [Gentiles]

believed. But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers. (Acts 14:1-2) But we [believing Jews, or: Christians] believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they [Gentiles] will. (Acts 15:11) And some of them [believing Jews] were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, as did a great many of the devout Greeks [Gentiles] and not a few of the leading women. But the Jews were jealous, and taking some wicked men of the rabble, they formed a mob, set the city in an uproar, and attacked the house of Jason, seeking to bring them out to the crowd. (Acts 17:4-5) Now these Jews [in Berea] were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so. Many of them therefore believed, with not a few Greek women of high standing as well as men. But when the Jews from Thessalonica learned that the word of God was proclaimed by Paul at Berea also, they came there too, agitating and stirring up the crowds. (Acts 17: 11-13) Paul was occupied with the word, testifying to the [unbelieving] Jews that the Christ was Jesus. And when they opposed and reviled him, he shook out his garments and said to them, Your blood be on your own heads! I am innocent. From now on I will go to the Gentiles. Acts 18:5-6) But when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the [unbelieving] Jews made a united attack on Paul and brought him before the tribunal, saying, This man is persuading people to worship God contrary to the law. (Acts 18:12-13) [H]e [Apollos] powerfully refuted the [unbelieving] Jews in public, showing by the Scriptures that the Christ was Jesus. (Acts 18:28) And he [St Paul] entered the synagogue and for three months spoke boldly, reasoning and persuading them about the kingdom of God. But when some [ unbelieving Jews] became stubborn and continued in unbelief, speaking evil of the Way before the congregation, he withdrew from them and took the disciples with him, reasoning daily in the hall of Tyrannus. This continued for two years, so that all the residents of Asia heard the word of the Lord, both Jews and Greeks [Gentiles]. (Acts 19:8-10) When we had come to Jerusalem, the brothers received us gladly. On the following day Paul went in with us to James, and all the elders were present. After greeting them, he related one by one the things that God had done among the Gentiles through his [St. Pauls] ministry. And when they heard it, they gloried God. And they said to him, You see, brother, how many thousands there are among the Jews of those who have believed. (Acts 21:17-20)

When the seven days were almost completed, the [unbelieving] Jews from Asia, seeing him in the temple, stirred up the whole crowd and laid hands on him, crying out, Men of Israel, help! This is the man who is teaching everyone everywhere against the people and the law and this place. Moreover, he even brought Greeks [Gentiles] into the temple and has deled this holy place. For they had previously seen Trophimus the Ephesian with him in the city, and they supposed that Paul had brought him into the temple. Then all the city was stirred up, and the people ran together. They seized Paul and dragged him out of the temple, and at once the gates were shut. And as they were seeking to kill him, word came to the tribune of the cohort that all Jerusalem was in confusion. (Acts 21:27-21) And I [St. Paul] said, Lord, they themselves know that in one synagogue after another I imprisoned and beat those who believed in you. And when the blood of Stephen your witness was being shed, I myself was standing by and approving and watching over the garments of those who killed him. And he said to me, Go, for I will send you far away to the Gentiles. (Acts 22:19-21) When it was day, the [unbelieving] Jews made a plot and bound themselves by an oath neither to eat nor drink till they had killed Paul. There were more than forty who made this conspiracy. They went to the chief priests and elders and said, We have strictly bound ourselves by an oath to taste no food till we have killed Paul. Now therefore you, along with the council, give notice to the tribune to bring him down to you, as though you were going to determine his case more exactly. And we are ready to kill him before he comes near. (Acts 23:12-14) I myself was convinced that I ought to do many things in opposing the name of Jesus of Nazareth. And I did so in Jerusalem. I not only locked up many of the saints in prison after receiving authority from the chief priests, but when they were put to death I cast my vote against them. And I punished them often in all the synagogues and tried to make them blaspheme, and in raging fury against them I persecuted them even to foreign cities. (Acts 26:9-11) Therefore, O King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, but declared rst to those in Damascus, then in Jerusalem and throughout all the region of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds in keeping with their repentance. For this reason the Jews seized me in the temple and tried to kill me. To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would come to pass: that the Christ must suffer and that, by being the rst to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light both to our people [Jews] and to the Gentiles. (Acts 26:19-23) But because the [unbelieving] Jews objected, I was compelled to appeal to Caesar though I had no charge to bring against my nation [Israel]. For this reason, therefore, I have asked to see you and speak with you, since it is because of the hope of Israel [the Messiah Christ Jesus] that I am wearing this chain. (Acts 28:19-20)

When they had appointed a day for him, they came to him at his lodging in greater numbers. From morning till evening he expounded to them, testifying to the kingdom of God and trying to convince them about Jesus both from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets. And some [Jews] were convinced by what he said, but others [Jews] disbelieved. And disagreeing among themselves, they departed after Paul had made one statement: The Holy Spirit was right in saying to your fathers through Isaiah the prophet: Go to this people [Jews], and say, You will indeed hear but never understand, and you will indeed see but never perceive. For this peoples [Jews] heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed; lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them. Therefore let it be known to you [unbelieving Jews] that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will listen. (Acts 28:23-28) What then? Are we Jews any better off? No, not at all. For we have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks [Gentiles], are under sin. (Romans 3:9) And Isaiah cries out concerning Israel [Israel, unbelieving Jews, Judaism]: Though the number of the sons of Israel [unbelieving Jews] be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will be saved [believing Jews, or: Christians], for the Lord will carry out his sentence upon the earth fully and without delay. And as Isaiah predicted, If the Lord of hosts had not left us offspring, we would have been like Sodom and become like Gomorrah. (Romans 9:27-28) Brothers, my hearts desire and prayer to God for them [unbelieving Jews] is that they may be saved [become Christians]. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to Gods righteousness. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes (Romans 10:1-4) For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek [Gentile]; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. (Romans 10:12-14) I will make you [unbelieving Jews] jealous of those who are not a nation [Gentiles]; with a foolish nation I will make you [unbelieving Jews] angry. (Romans 10:19)

I have been found by those who did not seek me [Gentiles]; I have shown myself to those who did not ask for me. But of Israel [Israel, unbelieving Jews, Judaism] he says, All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people. (Romans 10:20-21) I ask, then, has God rejected his people? By no means! For I myself am an Israelite [Jew], a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin. (Romans 11:1) So I ask, did [unbelieving Jews] they stumble in order that they might fall? By no means! Rather through their trespass salvation has come to the Gentiles, so as If anyone [Jew or Gentile] has no love for the Lord, let him be accursed (1 Corinthians 16:22). Now if their trespass means riches for the world, and if their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full inclusion mean! (Romans 11:11-12) They [unbelieving Jews] were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do not become proud, but fear. For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you. Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but Gods kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off. (Romans 11:20-22) As regards the gospel, they [unbelieving Jews] are enemies of God for your sake [Gentiles]. But as regards election, they [unbelieving Jews] are beloved for the sake of their forefathers. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. For just as you [Gentiles] were at one time disobedient to God but now have received mercy because of their [unbelieving Jews] disobedience, so they too have now been disobedient in order that by the mercy shown to you they [unbelieving Jews] also may now receive mercy. For God has consigned all to disobedience, that he may have mercy on all. (Romans 11:28-32) For you suffered the same things from your own countrymen as they did from the Jews, who killed both the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and drove us out, and displease God and oppose all mankind by hindering us from speaking to the Gentiles that they might be savedso as always to ll up the measure of their sins. But Gods wrath has come upon them [Israel, unbelieving Jews, Judaism] at last! (1 Thessalonians 2:14-16) For I would have you know, brothers, that the gospel that was preached by me is not mans gospel. For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ. For you have heard of my former life in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God violently and tried to destroy it. (Galatians 1:11-13) We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; yet we know that a person is not justied by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also

have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justied by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justied. (Galatians 2:15-16) There is neither Jew nor Greek [Gentile], there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christs, then you are Abrahams offspring, heirs according to promise. (Galatians 3:28-29) Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also. (1 John 2:22-23) But their [unbelieving Jews] minds were hardened. For to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away. Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their [unbelieving Jews] hearts. But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. (2 Corinthians 3:14-16) Holy Scripture refers to Israel, unbelieving Jews, and Judaism as: Disobedient (Romans 11:28-32) Contrary (Romans 10:20-21) Cursed (Galatians 3:10; 1 Corinthians 16:22) Enemies (Romans 11:28-32) Hardened (2 Corinthians 3:14-16) Blinded (2 Corinthians 3:14-16) Liars (1 John 2:22-23) Displeasing (1 Thessalonians 2:14-16) Fallen (Romans 11:20-22) Cut Off (Romans 11:20-22) Broken Off (Romans 11:20-22) Ignorant (Romans 10:1-4) Enslaved (2 Corinthians 3:14-16) Failures (Romans 11:11-12) Stumblers (Romans 11:11-12) Trespassers (Romans 11:11-12) Scoffers (Acts 13:38-43) Antichrists (1 John 2:22-23) Desolate (Matthew 23:37-38) Destroyed (Mark 12:9) Betrayers (Acts 7:51-53) Murderers (Acts 5:30-31; Acts 7:51-53) Deniers (1 John 2:22-23) Opposers (1 Thessalonians 2:14-16) Stiff-necked (Acts 7:51-53) Revilers (Acts 18:5-6)

Unworthy (Acts 13:44-50) Mind Poisoners (Acts 14:1-2) Jealous (Romans 10:19; Acts 13:44-50) Murderous Conspirators (Acts 23:12-14) Angry (Romans 10:19) Devils Children (John 8:34-38; 8:39-47) Attackers (Acts 17:4-5; Acts 18:12-13) Stubborn (Acts 19:8-9) Evil Speakers (Acts 19:8-9) Persecutors (Acts 26:9-11) Raging (Acts 26:9-11) Furious (Acts 26:9-11) Please see my article: Goats, not Scapegoats Jesus on Jews (and Gentiles) who reject him as Messiah(Savior) http://wp.me/pPnn7-xy Image - St. Paul Preaching to the Jews in the Synagogue at Damascus
