Apple Holidays is part of a larger group of companies with interests in Tourism,


Education, Retail, Jewellery and Real Estate in India and Sri Lanka. The group was established in 1978. Sharmila Travels and Tours which owns Apple Holidays was set up as an air travel and tour management company in 1985. It received its IATA status in 1990 and was one of the few agents in Sri Lanka to receive the membership during that period. As part of its travel management services, Sharmila Travels & Tours offers air tickets, hotel reservations, transportation services, outbound tour arrangements, destination management services, corporate travel & expense management, seamen transportation and other related services such as visa, insurance, etc. The company is among the top 5 agents in terms of sales for several the airlines that serve the Sri Lankan market. The company has three distinct business units to better serve its three target customer groups.

An overview
is the new and strengthened arm of our company focused entirely on selling, operating and managing tours in Sri Lanka. The aim of Apple Holidays is to provide customers with flexible and highly customizable tours at the highest level of services. Our mission is to make every holiday memorable and hassle free one, from the moment the traveler purchases the holiday package to the moment they complete their holiday. We believe that the holiday starts when the customer walks in to inquire about holiday packages. Therefore, we strive to provide all required information regarding available holiday packages quickly and in a concise form to travel partners who sell our products to customers. As already mentioned we strive to deliver the best service the moment the travelers arrive in Sri Lanka. Once the traveler arrives in Sri Lanka our local team at the airport will receive them along with the designated guide. At the airport, the traveler will be provided with a detailed description of their itinerary, short refreshments and will commence their holidays in an effortless and hassle free manner. At any time during the trip, an Apple Holidays associate will be available for the customer to answer any questions and to make their trip a smooth one until they board the return flight. This service is available 24 hours a day and seven days a week including all public holidays.

As a DM, we in turn are required to choose the best hotels, allocate the adequate vehicle, and arrange meals and activities that suit the clients needs and preference. Therefore, we ensure that we choose the right local partners to ensure that all services will be rendered without any compromise on quality We have created a web based tool to help our selling agents offer any combination of tour to their clients. This comprehensive tool has city guides that will allow the customers to pick the cities they want to visit, the number of nights they want to stay, the attractions they want to visit and specify travel dates. Once these are selected it will automatically provide the cost of the personalized trip instantly. We believe this can greatly help the selling agent improve their customer service as it can provide customers instant answers to their holiday needs. As a result, we believe this can help the agent secure more sales. Further, instant response will improve customers satisfaction and the confidence they have in the selling agent.

Our operations focuses on pre-planning and pre-arranging everything for the clients so that nothing is left out for chance. 1. Pre-arrival acquaintance: We have made a conscious decision to get to know our clients prior to arrival in Sri Lanka. In order to achieve this, 24 to 48 hours prior to arrival, one of our operations team rep will call the concerned booking agent at your company to go through the entire booking arrangements for the client and discuss any special requirements needed. Once confirmed either our rep or your rep can contact the client and discuss all the arrangements with them. We believe this will improve the customer perception as the customers will feel that their arrival is expected and the ground staff is on top of all their arrangements. 2. Pre-Check-in: Currently, we do the pre-check in for all clients before they get to the hotel. As most clients are doing their tours during the day, they tend to get to the hotel in the evenings or at night. Therefore, everyday by 10 AM, we do the pre-check-in for all clients and get their room numbers and the rooms ready prior to their arrival at the hotel. So that the clients will have to only prove their identity and check-in to the rooms rather than waiting for a long time at the reception. On-tour Flexibility: Based on our research and our experience, most Indian clients have an inclination to adjust their itineraries once they arrive in Sri Lanka. We have prepared and trained all our staff including the drivers to accommodate every wish of the traveler within the limits of the booking. However, if they need any additional changes the same would be conveyed to Kuoni and with Kuoni's approval we will be able to provide the same to the customer.
