Cisco

CCIE certifcation is one of the most highly-respected certifcations in

the IT industry. For over 15 years, Cisco has used rigorous, hands-on testing
to identify professionals with the highest level of networking expertise and
skill. Now Cisco also provides an expert-level learning program, giving high-
potential professionals an opportunity to build the skills necessary for CCIE
certifcation.
High-potential networking professionals have:
At least three to fve years of experience confguring, implementing,
managing and troubleshooting converged Cisco networks.
Experience to persist in analyzing operations and failures of complex
integrated networks.
Ingenuity to develop innovative solutions when required to resolve issues.
Ability to lead the evaluation and introduction of new networking
technologies and designs to meet business needs.
CCIE Certifcation Process
Cisco CCIE certifcation validates an individuals networking skills at the expert
level. Certifcation expectations are posted online in the form of a skills blueprint.
Candidates must pass a two-hour qualifcation exam at a Pearson VUE testing
center, and subsequently pass an eight-hour hands-on lab exam to demonstrate
their ability to accurately confgure and troubleshoot complex networks.
Those who earn the CCIE designation receive an offcial and unique
identifcation number, and may use the CCIE logo with their name on business
cards and other personal items. CCIEs are required to recertify their status
regularly by passing a two-hour written exam.

Cisco 360 Learning Program for CCIE Routing and Switching
The Cisco 360 Learning Program for CCIE Routing and Switching is the only
Cisco authorized, expert-level training program to combine specialized
assessments, self-paced learning, hands-on practice labs, and optional
instructor-led workshops into a comprehensive learning environment. This
unique blended learning program is designed to support CCIE certifcation
for individuals and organizations worldwide.
Candidate takes a preassessment to determine knowledge level.
Students participate in six online classes on demand. Topics covered in the
classes include IPv6, quality of service (QoS), Frame Relay, Border Gateway
Protocol (BGP), and switching.
Students then immerse themselves in a series of challenging assessment
lab scenarios and reinforce their knowledge through instructor-led training,
additional practice labs, online mentoring and support, and an advanced
technical reference library.
Mobile CCIE Testing Labs
Cisco offers mobile CCIE testing labs to administer CCIE Routing and Switching
lab exams for candidates in regions not served by permanent testing labs. The
mobile labs are set up in locations with a strong interest in expert certifcation and
allow candidates to take the lab exam in their home country, reducing the time
and expense associated with traveling to Cisco lab locations.
CCIE Certifcation Tracks
Cisco awards CCIE certifcation in multiple technology areas. CCIE tracks are
revised regularly with new technologies and best practices to ensure certifcation
expectations keep pace with the actual job tasks of networking experts.
