Maruti Suzuki sales up 24% in Aug

NEW DELHI: The country's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India on Wednesday reported its highest ever monthly sales at 1,04,791 units in August, registering 23.56 per cent jump over the year-ago period. Sales for the same month last year were at 84,808 units, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a statement. "This is the highest ever monthly sales recorded by the company," it added. It was the third time in this fiscal that the company's monthly sales figure has crossed one lakh mark. MSI had reported its highest ever monthly sales at 1,02,175 units in May, the first time when the company had crossed the one lakh units in monthly sales. The national-capital-based company also posted its best figure so far for the domestic market at 92,674 units in August, a 32.47 per cent increase from 69,961 units in August 2009. MSI's exports in last month, however, declined by 18.39 per cent to 12,117 units from 14,847 units in the year-ago period, the company added. The sales of the company's once bread-and-butter model M800 also declined 29.81 per cent to 1,919 units compared to 2,734 units in August 2009, the statement said. The A2 segment (comprising Alto, WagonR, Estilo, Swift, A-Star and Ritz) witnessed 25.69 per cent growth at 65,953 units compared to 52,473 units in the same month a year ago. A3 segment sales (consisting of SX4 and DZiRE) increased by 33.99 per cent to 10,479 units compared to 7,821 units in the corresponding period a year ago, the company said. MSI's total passenger car sales rose 32.86 per cent to 92,508 in August as against 69,629 units in the same month in 2009, it added. The previous highest sales were registered at 71,772 units in March, 2007, it added. The domestic sales of MSI stood at 67,005 units compared with 63,459 units in the same month a year-ago, up by 5.59 per cent, the company said. Exports also grew by 2.71 per cent at 4,774 units against 4,648 units in the corresponding month last year. Sales of its once bread and butter model M800 rose by 1.85 per cent for the first time in the recent many months at 5,571 units against 5,470 units last year. The A2 segment (comprising A-Star, Alto, Zen Estilo, Swift and WagonR) sales stood at 46,899 units against 45,957 units, registering an increase of 2.05 per cent. The company posted a robust over two-fold growth in the A3 segment (consisting of SX4, Swift DZiRE and Esteem) at 6,590 units against 2,939 units last year. Maruti posts highest-ever monthly sales in Feb at 96,650 units


PTI Mar 2, 2010, 01.34pm IST NEW DELHI: India's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India today reported its highest-ever monthly sales of 96,650 units for February, a jump of 22.05% over the same month last year. The company had sold 79,190 units during the same month last year. "This is the highest-ever total monthly sales in the company's history," Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a statement. In the domestic market, Maruti sold 84,765 units from 70,625 units in February 2009, an increase of 20.02%. Exports surged by 38.76% to 11,885 units from 8,565 units in the year-ago period, it added. However, sales of the company's once bread-and-butter model M800 fell by 22.01% at 3,178 units compared to 4,075 units in February 2009, the statement said. The A2 segment (comprising Alto, WagonR, Estilo, Swift, A-Star and Ritz) witnessed 19.97% growth at 60,380 units compared to 50,331 units in the same month a year ago. A3 segment sales (consisting of SX4 and DZiRE) increased by 27.49% to 10,254 units compared to 8,043 units in the corresponding period a year ago, the company said. MSI's passenger car sales rose 20.53% at 84,480 units in February against 70,090 units in the same month in 2009, it added.

The A2 segment (comprising Alto, WagonR, Estilo, Swift, A-Star and Ritz) witnessed 19.97% growth at 60,380 units compared to 50,331 units in the same month a year ago. A3 segment sales (consisting of SX4 and DZiRE) increased by 27.49% to 10,254 units compared to 8,043 units in the corresponding period a year ago, the company said. MSI's passenger car sales rose 20.53% at 84,480 units in February against 70,090 units in the same month in 2009, it added.

Maruti sales up 41.56% in August

In the domestic market, Maruti sold 69,961 units from 54,113 units in August last year, an increase of 29.29%, while exports more than doubled at 14,847 units from 5,795 units in the year-ago period, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a statement.

Maruti's June sales soar 17%

The company had sold 75,109 units in June last year, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a statement. In the domestic market, Maruti sold 72,812 units against 61,773 units in June 2009, an increase of 17.87 per cent. Exports surged 14.57 per cent to 15,279 units from 13,336 units in the year-ago period, it added.

Maruti reports highest ever monthly sales in September

Sales in the same month last year stood at 83,306 units, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a statement. "This is the highest ever total monthly sales by the company. This was the fourth time this fiscal that the company's monthly sales figure crossed the one lakh mark. MSI also posted its best-ever sales of 95,148 units in the domestic market during the month, a 32.90 per cent increase from 71,594 units in September, 2009. MSI's exports increased by 9.78 per cent in September, 2010, to 12,858 units from 11,712 units in the year-ago period, the company added. Sales of the company's once bread-and-butter model, the M800, however, declined by 49.86 per cent to 1,608 units from 3,207 units in September, 2009, the statement said. The A2 segment (comprising the Alto, WagonR, Estilo, Swift, A-Star and Ritz) witnessed a 31.26 per cent growth to 68,921 units from 52,508 units in the same month a year ago. A3 segment sales (consisting of MSI's SX4 and DZiRE models) increased by 43.16 per cent to 10,531 units from 7,356 units in the corresponding period a year ago, the company said. MSI's total passenger car sales rose by 32.95 per cent to 94,882 in September from 71,368 units in the same month of 2009, it added. In the first six months of this fiscal, the company's sales stood at 5,96,978 units, 26.23 per cent more than sales of 4,72,917 units in the corresponding period a year ago.
