Stellen Sie das Gert NICHT auf unebenen oder instabilen Unterlagen auf. Lassen Sie das Gert reparieren, falls das Gehuse beschdigt wurde. Setzen Sie das Gert NICHT Staub oder anderen Verschmutzung aus und benutzen Sie es niemals in der Nhe eines Gaslecks. Legen Sie das Notebook NICHT auf dem Scho oder einem anderen Krperteil ab. Auch niedrige Temperaturen knnen zu Unwohlsein oder sogar zu Verletzungen fhren. Drcken Sie NICHT auf LCD-Bildschirm, vermeiden Sie mglichst jede Berhrung. Meiden Sie die Nhe zu Kleinteilen, die das Notebook verkratzen oder darin eindringen knnten. Benutzen Sie das Notebook ausschlielich bei Umgebungstemperaturen zwischen 0oC(32oF) und 40oC(104oF). Lassen Sie KEINERLEI Gegenstnde auf Gert fallen. Legen Sie keine Gegenstnde darauf ab. Setzen Sie das Gert NIEMALS Flssigkeiten, Regen, Feuchtigkeit oder starken magnetischen oder elektrischen Feldern aus. Information zur RF-Belastungen (SAR)

Dieses Gert erfllt die Anforderungen der Landesregierung fr Belastungen durch Radiowellen. Dieses Gert wurde so konzipiert und hergestellt, dass es die Grenzwerte fr eine Belastung durch Radiofrequenzenergie (RF-Energie) nicht berschreitet, die von der Federal Communications Commission der US-Regierung festgestellt wurde. Die Norm fr die Belastung durch Wireless-Gerte bedient sich einer Maeinheit, die als Spezifische Absorptionsrate oder SAR bekannt ist. Der durch die FCC festgelegte SAR-Grenzwert liegt bei 1.6W/kg. *SAR-Tests wurden mit von der FCC/ IC vorgegebenen Standardbedienpositionen durchgefhrt, wobei das Gert auf allen getesteten Bandbreiten auf der hchsten zertifizierten Energiestufe sendete. Obwohl SAR-Werte auf der hchsten zertifizierten Energiestufe ermittelt werden, liegt das tatschliche SAR-Niveau des Gertes im Einsatz oft deutlich unter dem Hchstwert. Das beruht auf der Konzeption des Gertes, welches einen Betrieb auf unterschiedlichen Energiestufen ermglicht, damit das Gert im Einzelfall nur so viel Energie verbraucht, wie es zum Herstellen einer Verbindung zum Netzwerk bentigt. Im Allgemeinen ist die Energieabgabe umso niedriger, je nher Sie der Antenne einer Basisstation sind. Der hchste gemeldete SAR-Wert fr das Gert, der beim Tragen am Kper gemessen wurde, wie in diesem Handbuch beschrieben wurde, ist 0,011 W / kg fr WLAN-Body SAR. (Messwerte fr am Kper getragene drahtlose Gerte knnen variieren und sind abhngig vom verfgbaren Zubehr und den anzuwendenden Vorschriften der FCC. ) Auch wenn Unterschiede zwischen den SAR-Werten verschiedener Gerte und zwischen den Werten fr verschiedene Positionen bestehen, werden doch in allen Fllen die Anforderungen der Regierung erfllt. Die von der FCC fr dieses drahtlose Gertemodell erteilte Gerteautorisierung gewhrleistet, dass alle gemessenen SAR-Werte den FCC-Richtlinien hinsichtlich der Ausstrahlung von Hochfrequenzsignalen entsprechen. 1. Akkupack installieren/entnehmen
Bevor Sie das Notebook benutzen, installieren Sie bitte den Akku und schlieen Sie das externe Netzteil an. Das Notebook kann ber den Akku oder das externe Netzteil betrieben. Wir empfehlen Ihnen, das externe Netzteil so viel wie mglich im Bro zu benutzen. Wenn Sie nicht im Bro sind und keine Steckdose verfgbar ist, benutzen Sie den Akku anstatt. Akkupack installieren Schritt 1: Drehen Sie das Notebook um und lassen Sie die Rckseite des Akkus nach oben. Jetzt schieben Sie das Akkuende mit den Metallkontakten gleichmig und langsam in den Akkusteckplatz entlang der Akkuschiene. Schritt 2: Schieben Sie das Akkuende mit den Metallkontakten vollstndig in den Akkusteckplatz. Wenn Sie einen Klicken" hren, rastet die gefederte Akkufixierung automatisch ein. Schritt 3: Bringen Sie die manuelle Akkufixierung in die Sperrposition, nachdem Sie den Akku eingelegt haben.

Akku entnehmen Schritt 1: Schalten Sie das Notebook aus. Trennen Sie alle Kabel und Gerte von der Stromversorgung. Schritt 2: Drehen Sie das Notebook um und entsperren Sie den Akku durch das Schieben der Akkuverriegelung nach auen. Schritt 3: Schieben Sie die gefederte Akkufixierung nach auen und halten Sie sie mit Ihrem Finger an Ort und Stelle gedrckt. Nehmen Sie nun den Akku mit der anderen Hand heraus.

Entnehmen Sie den Akku whrend dem Betrieb des Notebooks nicht. Dies kann zum Datenverlust oder zur Datenbeschdigung auf der Festplatte fhren.

2. Netzteil anschlieen
Der Adapter (DC-AC Spannungswandler) versorgt Ihr Notebook mit externer Stromquelle und ldt gleichzeitig den Akku. Mit einem Selbstumschaltung-Design kann der Adapter an Steckdosen mit einer Spannung von 100V AC bis 240V angeschloen werden. Schritt 1: Stecken Sie das Netzteil in den Netzteilanschluss des Adapters. Schritt 2: Stecken Sie den Anschluss des Adapters in den DC-Anschluss des Notebooks. Schritt 3: Stecken Sie das andere Ende des Netzteils in die Steckdose.

Der Netzstecker fr die Steckdose kann abhngig von dem lokalen nationalen Standard sein. Der geeignete Stecker wird mit Ihrem Notebook mitgeliefert. Bitte benutzen Sie stets einen Adapter, wenn Sie das Netzteil anschlieen. Der hier gezeigte Stecker kann anders als der im Paket sein und dient nur als Referenz.

3. Starten
Schritt 1: ffnen Sie den Bildschirm Ihres Notebooks.

Schritt 2: Schalten Sie das Gert durch das Drcken der Netztaste ein.

4. Herunterfahren im Notfall
Fr den Fall, dass Ihr System nicht ordnungsgem heruntergefahren werden kann, halten Sie den Stromschalter gedrckt, bis das System heruntergefahren ist.

1-4 Touchpad-Benutzung
1. Einfhrung in das Touchpad Das Touchpad funktioniert genauso wie eine Maus. Bei einer Berhrung mit dem Finger ber das Touchpad wird eine Spannung zur Steuerung der Cursorbewegung und der Befehle erzeugt. Das Touchpad empfindet die Fingerbewegungen. Beim Ziehen des Fingers ber das Touchpad bewegt sich der Cursor auf dem Bildschirm. Unter dem Touchpad befinden sich zwei Tasten. Die linke Taste funktioniert wie die linke Maustaste zur Auswahl von Optionen oder zum Start der Programme auf dem Bildschirm. Die rechte Maustaste entspricht der rechten Maustaste.

2. Einzelklicken/Einzeltippen Um ein Fenster oder eine Taste auszuwhlen, bewegen Sie Ihren Finger ber das Touchpad und setzen Sie den Cursor auf das Fenster oder die Taste, dann tippen Sie einmal auf das Touchpad. Das entspricht einem Drcken auf die linke Maustaste oder die linke Touchpad-Taste. 3. Doppelklicken/Doppeltippen Um einen Ordner oder ein Dokument zu ffnen, bewegen Sie Ihren Finger ber das Touchpad und setzen Sie den Mauszeiger auf das gewnschte Objekt, dann tippen Sie zweimal kurz hintereinander auf das Touchpad. Das entspricht einem zweimal Drcken auf die linke Maustaste oder die linke Touchpad-Taste.

4. Ziehen Bewegen Sie Ihren Finger ber das Touchpad und setzen Sie den Mauszeiger auf das gewnschte Objekt. Jetzt halten Sie die linke Taste mit einem Hand gedrckt und bewegen Sie den Mauszeiger auf die gewnschte Position und lassen die Taste anschlieend los. Alternativ knnen Sie das Objekt doppeltippen und halten Sie den Finger nach dem zweiten Tippen auf dem Touchpad, so kann man Objekte (Symbole) markieren bzw. bewegen (ziehen). 5. Eingaben mit mehreren Fingergesten

Zweifinger-vergrern oder verkleinern: Zum Vergrern oder Verkleinern bewegen Sie zwei Finger auf dem Mauspad aufeinander zu oder voneinander fort. Dies ist besonders beim Anzeigen von Fotos oder Dokumenten praktisch. Zweifinger-drehn: Um das Foto oder das Dokument welches Sie betrachten zu drehen, lassen Sie zwei Fingerspitzen auf dem Touchpad einen konzentrischen Kreis ziehen.Sie knnen nach Bedarf in oder entgegen der Uhrzeigerrichtung drehen.

 Zweifinger-Bildlauf auf/ab oder links/rechts: Zum vertikalen oder horizontalen Bildlauf in einem Fenster lassen Sie zwei Fingerspitzen auf dem Touchpad nach oben/unten oder links/rechts gleiten.

When the computer is running or charging, heat is produced inside the Notebook and transferred to the back of the chassis by the heat dissipation system for cooling. The transformer may also produce a lot of heat during normal use as well. The Notebook and its transformer should therefore not be placed in the lap or on any other body part for prolonged periods during use. Also avoid placing the Notebook on a soft surface (e.g. sofa) as it might block the heat vents and interfere with cooling.

1-3 Setting Up Your Computer

1. Installing/Removing the Battery
Please install the battery before using the Notebook and connect the external power supply transformer. The Notebook can be powered by the battery or the external transformer. If you are in an office environment, we recommend using the external transformer as much as possible. If you are away from the office and no power socket is available, use the battery instead. Installing the Battery 1. Turn the Notebook over and have the back of the battery facing upwards as well. Now push the end of the battery with the metal contacts into the Notebook's battery slot evenly and slowly along the battery rails. 2. Push the end of the Notebook battery with the metal contacts completely into the battery slot. When there is a "click", this means the battery latch has engaged and the battery is now secured to the Notebook. 3. Push the Battery Lock inwards lightly to lock the battery in place.

Removing the Battery 1. Shut down the Notebook. Disconnect all cables and devices. 2. Turn the Notebook over and unlock the battery by pushing the Battery Lock outwards. 3. Push the Battery Latch outwards and hold it in place with your finger. Now use the other hand to pull the battery out.

Do not remove the battery while the Notebook is still running. This may damage the data on the hard disk.

2. Connecting the Power Supply

The AC transformer provides external power source to your notebook and charges the battery pack at the same time. The AC transformer also has an auto-switching design that can connect to any 100V AC - 240V AC power outlets. 1. Plug the power cord into the power socket of the AC transformer. 2. Plug the connector of the AC transformer to the DC port of Notebook. 3. Plug the other end of the power cord to a live power outlet.

1-4 Touchpad Usage

1. Introduction to the Touchpad
The touchpad is like a computer mouse. It senses the pressure from the user's finger and generates a voltage that is used to control the cursor's movements and issue commands. The touchpad senses finger movements. Simply move one finger across the touchpad to control the movement of the cursor on screen. Below the touchpad is three buttons. The left button is like the left mouse button and is used for selecting options or launching programs on screen. The right button works the same way as the right mouse button. The lock button is to lock or unlock the touchpad.

2. Single Tap/ Single Click To select a window function or press a button icon, move your finger across the touchpad to move the cursor to the window or button to select. Now tap the touchpad with your finger to perform the action. This action is equivalent to pressing the left mouse button. You can also press the left touchpad button for the same effect. 3. Double Tap/ Double Click To open a file or document, move your finger across the touchpad to move the cursor to the file you wish to open. Now quickly tap the touchpad twice with your finger to perform the action. This action is equivalent to pressing the left mouse button twice. You can also press the left touchpad button twice for the same effect.

4. Drag Move your finger across the touchpad to move the cursor to the object you wish to drag. Now hold down the left touchpad button with one hand and move the cursor to the desired location. Release the button and complete the drag operation. You can also double tap the object you wish to drag and keep the finger on the touchpad after the second tap to perform the drag operation with one hand. 5. Multi-finger Gesture Input

Two-finger zooming in/out: Moving two fingertips apart or together on the touchpad to zoom in or zoom out. This is convenient when viewing photos or reading documents. You can make a clockwise or counterclockwise rotation based on your needs. Two-finger scrolling up/down or left/right: Making two fingertips open slightly to slide up/down or left/right on the touchpad to scroll a window up/down or left/right. 53

1-6 Configuring a Wireless Network Connection

1. Click the network icon in the Windows notification area. 2. Select the wireless access point you want to connect to from the list and build the connection. (When connecting, you may have to enter a password) 3. After a connection has been established, the connection is shown on the list.

Make sure that wireless network is in open state (the status indicator shows blue), or please press <Fn> + <F9> to enable the WLAN function.

1-7 Configuring a Bluetooth Connection

Bluetooth is a short-range wireless connectivity technology that enables devices compatible with Bluetooth technology, the distance of 10 meters within the physical connection and data exchange. Follow these steps to create a bluetooth connection (In Windows 7 system as an example to illustrate): 1. Click the network icon in the Windows notification area, go to <Open Network and Sharing Center> and then click <Change adapter settings>. 2. Double click <Bluetooth Network Connection>.

If there is no <Bluetooth Network Connection>, please press <Fn> + <F11> to enable Bluetooth function

3. Click <Add a device>to look for new devices. 4. Select a Bluetooth-enabled device from the list and click <Next>.

2-1 Setting BIOS and Install a new Windows 7 system

1. Power on your Notebook, then press <Del> to enter BIOS setup during POST, set "1st Boot Device" to "USB : SONY DVD-ROM D"(DVD drive name) in "Boot" -> "Boot Device Priority" menu, the figure is shown as below. And then save changes and exit BIOS.

2. Put the Windows 7 Install CD into the USB DVD drive. 3. The computer will reboot, and it will start loading files for installing Windows 7 system. 4. After that, it will start Windows and come out a Install Windows dialog box to set the Language to install, Time and current format and Keyboard or input method. Click Next to continue and click Install now button to start the setup. 5. When the license terms appears, select to accept and click Next to continue. 6. It then asks you to select the installation type. Click Custom (advanced) to install a new copy of Windows.

7. The setup will display the hard disk partitions (160GB, in this example) of your system. If there were other systems (such as Linux) installed previously, you need select them and click Drive options (advanced) -> Delete to delete them. When all partitions are clean, setup will display the biggest size of your hard drive.

8. In this biggest hard disk size screen, you can click Drive options (advanced) -> New to create partitions as you need. In this example, we are creating a 70GB partition to install Windows, and click Apply to continue.

To ensure that all Windows features work correctly, Windows might create additional partitions for system files. So you will see a 100MB partition reserved by system after you create a partition. Select the 70GB partition and click Next to continue.

9. From this step we start to install windows 7 into your hard disk. During the process, your computer will restart several times.

10. When the installation is complete, setup will prepare your computer for the first use. Then you can follow steps to select system settings, create an account, set a password...etc, until the whole process is complete and enter Windows 7 system.

2-2 Install Drivers in Windows 7

1. When the Windows 7 is completely installed, you have to install the necessary drivers before using the Notebook. Take out the Windows 7 Install CD from the USB DVD drive, and put the driver CD inside. Waiting for a few seconds, the main menu will be displayed on the screen.

2. Use these options to install all the drivers for your system. You must click "Intel Chipset Driver" to install it first. After that, you can click "One Click Setup" to install all the other drivers, or you can click on each individual driver to install it manually. 3. After all the drivers are installed, you need to restart your Notebook, then you can start using it. 60
