She has a Business degree from the University of the Philippines and an MA in Political Science from the University of Illinois in Chicago. Born and raised in Manila, she worked as a legislative consultant and speechwriter in the 1986 Constitutional Commission, the Philippine Senate, and the National Centennial Commission. She was also active in the Asian Women's Human Rights Council (AWHRC) and the Lila Pilipina, whose delegation she joined to the 1995 NGO Forum of the 4th World Conference on Women in Beijing, and whom she currently represents in Europe. AWHRC is an accredited NGO with the United Nations ECOSOC. In Manila, she was a performer with the Philippine Educational Theater Association or PETA. Her poetry, articles, and photographs appeared in the Malaya Newspaper, Caracoa Literary Journal, the now-defunct Midweek Magazine, The Sunday Chronicle, and The Manila Times. In Zrich, she recently established the multi-cultural theater group BRIDGES. She was instrumental in organizing the Philippine Centennial celebration in Switzerland, which gave her the role of Inang Bayan in the centennial gala night production.
