Course Description

Goal

This course will emphasize on the students overall personality development and soft skills. His/her relationship among groups and individuals in the social and job environment. The course also emphasizes on students ability to develop his personality & soft skills through SWOT analysis at regular intervals, that enhances his/her ability in securing jobs, manage work relationship and social life. To equip the student with the highest ethical standards and soft skills that will guide him/her through real life dilemmas. To assist students to gain confidence and develop personality necessary to obtain or improve employment. Emphasize on job search techniques and strategies, resume writing, interviewing skills, and improving employment opportunities.

Objectives
The course should enable the student to: 1. Understand the concept of values. 2. Understand, appreciate personality development and respect cultural diversity. 3. Understand and apply the concepts and principles of soft skills. 4. Understand the job search techniques, customs, and practices. It also will enable students to always meet the expectations of the employer. 5. Understand and apply the learned concepts and principles at work place and social environment

Outcomes
The students should be able to: 1. Define the concept of values. 2. Define how values develop. 3. Understand the values of religion and society in diversity. 4. Define the concept of personality development and soft skills. 5. Understand the importance of SWOT analysis and soft skills necessary for procuring jobs and managing future endeavors. 6. Describe the differences of traditional and nontraditional approaches to the job search. 7. Describe the attitudes, behaviors and guidelines associated with an effective resume preparation, job search and interviewing skills. 8. Identify, evaluate and use available information resources and apply strategies which may be useful in enhancing the job opportunities. 9. Apply effective interpersonal and technical skills. 10. Demonstrate ability to participate, share and develop skills and competencies during practical/field sessions, surveys and self-paced field work.

The above mentioned Practical Activities and Field / Industrial visits are to be carried out through a questionnaire developed by a joint input from the Faculties of English language, Travel & Tourism and Management Studies. This is to gain maximum professional outlook for the questionnaire. More activities may be included based on the demography of the local area or region. Evaluation of Practical Activities and Field / Industrial visits are to be monitored and assessed by a joint input of faculties from English, Travel & Tourism and Management Studies to obtain a desirable standard of each individual students personality. References: This course is focused more on practical activities. While covering a particular unit from the curriculum, the institutions offering this course may refer to a particular module associated with this unit to teach. But, they need to furnish the details of the text books and the resources used to the assessing body prior the conduct of this course.
