Atsuete ( Biva orillana Linon) Parts utilized :Leaves, bark and seeds.

Uses For small burns: Wash the leaves with soap and water. Boil 10 leaves in 5 glasses of water; cool. Soak the burn area for 10 minues, once a day. The pulp of the seeds, immediately applied to burns, prevents blistering and scarring. The seeds, ground and boiled, also used for burns. Duranta (Duranta repens Linn.) Parts used:Leaves and fruits. Uses Folkloric Fruit has been used as febrifuge. Fruits used for malaria and intestinal worms. Flowers are believed to be stimulant. Infusion of leaves and juice of fruit are diuretic. Leaves used for treatment of abscesses. Lagundi (Vitex negundo Linn) Parts utilized- Leaves, bark, roots and seeds. Uses:Decoction of leaves used as warm bath by women suffering with after-pains in the puerperal period - Seeds are boiled in water and eaten or the water drunk to prevent the spread of toxin from bites of poisonous animals. - Infusion of seeds used for disinfecting wounds and ulcers. - Infusion of seeds in wine used for dropsy. - Pounded leaves applies on the forehead and temples for headaches. - Leaf decoction for fever, headache, toothache, cough, asthma.

Dusol (Kaempferia galanga Linn.) Parts Utilized: Rhizomes, leaves. Uses: In the Philippines, the rhizome mixed with oil is an effective cicatrizant (healing by scar formation). Blume Parts used: Pseudobulbs Uses: In Amboina, paste of pseudobulb put on sores or applied to the stomach to expel worms and malignant tumors. - Macerated orchid used for treating aphthae. Used as part of diet for dysentery. - In the Moluccas, the seeds have been added to a woman's food to cast a love spell and ensnare her for life. Gabi (Colocasia esculenta Linn.)

Ikmo (Piper betle) Parts utilized and preparation: Vines and leaves. May be collected throughout the year. Rinse, cut into pieces, sun-dry. Uses: In the Philippines, fresh, crushed leaves used as antiseptic for cuts and wounds.Leaves, together with lime and betel nut, constitute the Filipino's masticatory. Its use believed to help preserve the teeth and a prophylactic against stomach complaints. Leaves greased with with lard or sesame oil, used by Filipinos as carminative; applied to the abdomen of childre suffering from gastric disorders. Arthritis, rheumatism, pruritic skin lesions: Mix the latex (sap) with coconut oil, warm, and apply to affected area. Decoction of the bark is used as a counterirritant on the gums for toothache. The latex mixed with coconut oil is used for itching. Kalamansi (Citrus microcarpa) Parts used: Fruit Uses: Aromatic bath: Mix juice with gogo. Cough, colds and sore throat: Drink warm kalamansi-ade. Nausea and fainting: Squeeze rind near nostril to inhale. Applied externally for itching. Kamantigi (Impatiens balsamina Linn.) Parts utilized Roots, stems, flowers, and seeds. Uses:Seed is expectorant; used for cancer treatments. For external use on any bruise or painful area; crush fresh plant and poultice the affected parts of the body. Leaf juice used for treatment of warts. Root and leaves used for various foreign bodies - coins or other metals inadvetently swallowed, as well as thorns or fish splinters. In the U.S. the most common use of jewelweed is to treat poison ivy rashes.

Uses: Skin diseases, especially with pruritus: Reduce the leaves to a paste and apply tolerably warm to areas of affected skin. Fruit juice used as eye drops.. Used for boils, piles, rheumatism, cough, hypertension, whooping cough, mumps and pimples. Kasopangil (Clerodendrum intermedium) Parts utilized: Leaves, roots. Uses Leaves, whole or pounded, used as cataplasm to relieve pains after childbirth. Also used for rheumatism and neuralgia. Plaster of leaves for colic in children. Leaves, whole or pounded applied to abdomen for abdominal post-partum compalints. Rambutan: Nephelium lappaceum Linn. Parts utilized: Roots, leaves and bark. Uses: The Malays use a decotion of roots for fevers; the leaves for poulticing, and the bark as astringent for diseases of the tongue. - Fruit decoction used for diarrhea and dysentery. - Edible pulp (aril) is used as an refrigerant in fevers.

Used for wounds. Never apply topically to open wounds! Traditionally used in Europe as a herbal diuretic for edema and fluid retention. Considered for osteoporosis, nephrolithtiasis and wound healing. Used for cholelithiasis, liver problems, hyperuricemia, diarrhea. Used externally, to facilitate wound healing. Decoction used for bleeding wounds and wound healing.
