SURRENDERING TO GOD 1. Surrendering to qada and qadar of Allah

If they argue with you, say, "I have submitted myself completely to Allah, and so have all who follow me". Say to those given the Book and those who have no Book, "Have you become Muslim?" If they become Muslim, they have been guided. If they turn away, you are only responsible for transmission. Allah sees His servants. (Surah Al Imran: 20) This verse explains to us, if we surrender ourselves to Allah, we will willingly accept everything He sends us. We never question Whats going on?. And when we are faced with difficulty, we dont say,If only this does not happenBecause we know that Allah has arranged our events whether in the past, present, and future. Therefore, we surrender and put our faith in God that everything that happen will have the hikmah. This is also one of the pillars in the Six Pillars of Iman. Believing in Qada and Qadar. Qada' & Qadar forms the sixth fundamental principle of faith, wherein a person accepts his destiny (the good and bad therein) as it has been determined by Allah. It is part of his submission to Allah Almighty. Moreover, the true Muslim believes in the timeless knowledge of God and in His power to plan and execute His plans.

2. Tawakkal to Allah

Those who submit themselves completely to Allah and do good have grasped the Firmest Handhold. The end result of all affairs is with Allah. (Surah Luqman: 22) This verse explains about the efforts of men. Men who surrender themselves to Allah, is not fully independent on their wisdom only. Instead, after they use their knowledge and make an effort, they will let Allah do the rest (tawakkal). They are dependent to Allah, which makes them feel peace and calm. Those who surrender to Allah will not feel unhappy or despair, since they know that everything that Allah sends for them is for a good reason, and they tell themselves that Allah knows things that they do not know. Nothing would cause them sorrow or anxiety. In a nutshell, this life is a test. The test can be of patience or gratefulness. some are made wealthy, powerful, beautiful, there test is whether they are grateful to God for the blessings while others are poor, ill, or have difficulties, there test is whether they are patient. The essential quality of a God fearing person is tawakal meaning satisfaction which is irrespective of circumstances and firm belief that everything happens from Allah.

3. Proof of Iman

"But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (Muhammad, peace be upon him) as a judge in all disputes between them, and find no resistance against your decisions, and accept (the decisions) with full submission." (Surah An Nisa: 65) In this verse, it tells us that a muslim is not yet a mukmin until he let the prophet Muhammad as a judge in all disputes between them. Also they must not be against the prophets decision. They have to accept or surrender fully. So, there are a few prerequisites for total submission. That is, surrendering to Allah and some terms set forth by Allah. These are to be understood by the Muslim. There can be no option in the matter. We to have to act on what Allah enjoins all of us to do (in the Qur'an) and what His beloved Prophet, Muhammad (pbuh) encouraged us to do in his Sunnah (his lifestyle and sayings personifying the Qur'an). After surrendering our free will to Allah and then ratifying the terms and conditions of the surrender, it is obligatory for us, Muslims to live up to his terms of the bargain. It is his or her responsibility to do their best to obey the orders of Allah set forth in the Holy Quran and the teachings of the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him.

4. Equity in practice for those who surrender to Allah

"It is not fitting for the believing man nor for the believing woman, that whenever Allah and His Messenger have decided any matter, that they should have any other opinion." (Surah Al Ahzab: 36) The verse says, the terms that Allah and His Messenger have set forth as being the Way of Islam is inevitable to all believers, man or woman to follow completely. A servant of Allah must obediently give himself to the service of Allah. In the Quran, reference to men and women is through attributes and deeds, by which we will be judged. The most pious of us, or those who follow God's commands, are referred to as "believers" or "mu'mineen" (pl.) In the Quran, in many references, in fact, the Quran resonates this equality by eloquently repeating "men and women" with ethical and practical qualities throughout the verses. Therefore, we need to fully submit ourselves to Allah, our one and only God, disregarding our genders. Even though we have other worldly affairs in our lives, we cannot make it our reason to neglect Allahs orders. The worldly affairs cannot get in the way of our obligations toward our Creator.

5. Al-Islam

"The Religion before Allah is Islam (surrendering to His Will): (Surah Al Imran: 19) Allah does not accept any religion besides the religion which is surrendering to Allah, Al-Islam. If a person does not believe in Islam, and thus submits to other religion, Allah will never accept him, and in the Hereafter, he will be among the losers. Al Islam also means peace. Once we humble ourselves, get rid of our ego, and surrender totally to Allah, we will surely feel peace in our hearts. Establishing peace and calmness in our hearts will also bring about peace in our physical conduct as well.

Submitting your will to God or surrendering your will to God means a person who will follow not what he or she wants rather than he or she will follow the commandments of Allah and will do the things which Allah made lawful for him or her and will stay out of the things which Allah made unlawful for him or her. A person who Submits his will to God Alone and dont associate any partner with God or dont worship anything beside True God(Allah) is called as a Muslim in Arabic.

6. The whole universe surrender to Allah

Is it other than the religion of Allah that you desire, when everything in the heavens and earth, willingly or unwillingly, submits to Him and to Him you will be returned? (Surah Al 'Imran: 83) Allah is the sole Creator of every living and non-living beings in the whole universe. Everything belongs to Allah and what we have now is only a loan given by Allah. One day, Allah will take it and question about what we have done with the things given by Him. God has created the sun, the moon, the stars, the flowers, the trees, and the grass. Are they not all absolutely surrendered to God? Do they not allow God to work in them just what He pleases? When God clothes the lily with its beauty, is it not yielded up, surrendered, given over to God as He works in it its beauty? Everything in this universe surrenders to Allah whether willingly or unwillingly. Do we dare to say there is another way of life or religion better than to surrender to Allah? All Glory be to Him - creator of souls, body and all the elements and sustainer of the universe. False gods made by human hands and even they band together cannot even create a fly. Indeed, the nature is working in accordance to Allahs will and it goes on until kiamah. However, humans are given soul freedom whether to submit to Him or violate His laws. And then through His Prophets, God revealed what that guidance is, to which man must submit.

7. Sincerity in obeying Allahs command

You must ensure that your qalb or heart submits totally and wholeheartedly to the Creator. Allah says: O you who believe! Enter into Islam wholeheartedly, without reservation. (Surah Al Baqarah: 208)

In this verse, it explains that in order to surrender completely to Allah, our hearts (qalb) cannot be separated. We cannot dedicate one piece of our hearts to Allah and another for other purpose, such as luxuries, women, career and others. It is also fitrah that man is not bestowed with two hearts in one body. Allah does not accept something divided between Him and others, because he is One, indivisible and wants human to be undivided in service to Him. Besides that, sincerity in obeying Allah is among the obligations of the heart. It is also one of the good characteristics. Sincerity in obeying Allah is doing the good deeds for the sake of Allah only. It is not doing them seeking the praise and respect of people. Allah made sincerity a condition for the acceptance of the good deeds. Insincerity and priding oneself for obeying Allah are two sins of the heart. They are also two bad characteristics that the pubescent person must avoid. One should be sincere while obeying Allah to earn the reward from Allah.

8. The serenity and calmness that Allah will bestow to the good-doers

Not so! All who submit themselves completely to Allah and are good-doers will find their reward with their Lord. They will feel no fear and will know no sorrow. (Surat al-Baqarah: 112) This verse gives good news to those who surrender to Allah. They will receive the rewards of their deeds in the Hereafter, Allah will create a lot more bounties for those people both in the world and also in the Hereafter in return for what they have done. It is easy to be a person whom Allah loves. By telling other people about Allah and by doing good deeds, Allah will give the rewards, and surely he will be safe from fear during the Day. So, we should all do good deeds and make sure that our good deeds meet all the necessary conditions to gain the acceptance of Allah (S.W.T.). This way, we get the reward in this life and in the Hereafter. We ask Allah (S.W.T.) to help us do what he loves and pleased with and that he accepts our good deeds and rewards us with his mercy and blessings. Imam Ibn Katheer says: "In this great verse, there is a promise from Allah (S.W.T.) and He does not break his promise - for everyone, man or woman, who does a good deed and whose heart is believing in Allah and His Messenger. Allah (S.W.T.) promises to give good life for such a person in this life as a quick reward for the righteous deed. Allah (S.W.T.) also promises to give more rewards to this person in the Hereafter.

9. Hypocrites who pretend to surrender to God

(The hypocrites) swear by Allah that they have said nothing wrong. Yet they most certainly have uttered a word of disbelief (9:61-62). And have denied the Truth after their Islam (or professing their surrender to Allah). They were aiming at something beyond their reach (attaining inner peace without sincerity to the Divine Guidance). And they could find no fault in the Divine System except that Allah has enriched them and caused His Messenger to enrich them out of His Bounty. Hence, it will be good for them if they repent and correct themselves. But if they still turn away, Allah will cause them to suffer grievous retribution in this world and in the life to come. And they will have no protector or helper in the earth. (Surah At Taubah: 74) Hypocrites attempt to convince others that they have faith, but act only to earn other peoples consent. But, when they are alone, or with other hypocrites, they are never conscious that Allah sees them at every instant, and that He knows whatever they may be doing or thinking. Due to the impurity of their faith, they fulfill their acts of worship when they are with the believers. They act and speak as they do when they are among them. Yet, once they are alone, they cease performing their acts of worship, speak as disbelievers do, and are heedless as disbelievers are towards Allah. And, however good their skills at imitation may be, Allah has stated in the Qur'an that the hypocrites will be certainly exposed The hypocrites or al-munafiqun admits that they have surrendered to Allah, but instead, they denied the Truth after their Islam. In this case, they wants to attain inner peace, but they have no sincerity to the Divine Guidance. Truly, they are not surrendering to Allah. The hypocrites must repent and correct themselves, or else Allah will cause them great torment. They will never reach peace. They will be among the losers in this life and the next life.

10. Surrendering to God as a sign of gratitude to Him

Some people act as if they are doing you a favor by embracing Islam (or submission to Allah's Commands). Say, Deem not that your Islam (or your submission to Allah's Commands) is a favor upon me. Nay, it is Allah Who bestows a favor upon you as He has led you to the Faith, if you be true and sincere. (Surah Al hujurat: 17) This verse is about Badwi people, who surrenders to God because the have been given favours. Indeed, Islam is not a religion in which people who submits to it will receive favours. There is no way that Allah will easily give reward to those who only submit to him just to receive his bounty. Allah will test us, whether we are muslims because of his bounties or because Allah is our creator. In retrospect, this verse gives a correction and warning to those Badwi people that surrendering to Allah does not mean a favour. Indeed, Allah is the one who give favours to those He wants to. Someone who dedicates every moment of his life to Allah and lives in submission to Him will display the same submission, trust in Allah and calm in the face of difficulties. No matter what the trouble, difficulty or complexity of the situation confronting him, the believer knows, right from the outset, that they will be easy to overcome for someone who has faith. He places his complete trust in Allah, knows that he draws his strength from that of Allah, and confronts the situation with faith and the moral values of the Quran.

11. Surrendering to only one ilah

When his Lord said to him, "submit (i.e. be a Muslim)!" He said, "I have submitted myself (as a Muslim) to the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists)." (Surah albaqarah: 131) In order to be a Muslim, i.e., to surrender oneself to God, it is necessary to believe in the oneness of God, in the sense of His being the only Creator, Preserver, Nourisher, etc. But this belief later on called "Tawhid Ar-Rububiyyah" - is not enough. Many of the idolaters knew and believed that only the Supreme God could do all this, but that was not enough to make them Muslims. To tawhid ar-rububiyyah one must add tawhid al'uluhiyyah, i.e., one acknowledges the

fact that is God alone Who deserves to be worshipped, and thus abstains from worshipping any other thing or being. Surrendering to God is the order of Allah. Not only humans are ordered to do so. Truly, all humankinds, jinn, animals, plants, and all that exists are surrendering to Allah. Besides that, surrendering to Allah means obeying all of Allahs commands. That mean, the five pillars of Islam. We as muslims must commit all the five pillars of Islam. This is important to prove our submission to Allah.

12. The muhsinin who fear none but Allah

And who can be better in religion than one who submits his face (himself) to Allah (i.e. follows Allah's religion of Islamic Monotheism); and he is a Muhsin (a good-doer - See V.2:112). And follows the religion of Ibrahim (Abraham) Hanifa (Islamic Monotheism - to worship none but Allah Alone). And Allah did take Ibrahim (Abraham) as a Khalil (an intimate friend)! (Surah An Nisa: 125) This verse says, those who surrender to Allah, and do good deeds are the pious in the religion. In order to achieve the level muhsinin, one must be just in every action. And then can he qualify to enter the muhsinin. The submission to Allah means to worship none but only Allah as God. This is called monotheism, mono-one, theis-god. Only Allah deserves to be the God whom we must worship. As for ihsaan in the worship of Allaah, then it is that you worship Allaah as if you were seeing Him, as the Prophet said. So worship done in this way, that a person worships his Lord as if he were actually seeing Him is worship that is accompanied by yearning and seeking. So a person will find that his soul encourages him upon worship done in this way, since he is yearning for the one he loves. Therefore he worships Him as if he were seeing Him, and he directs his heart to Him and turns to Him and seeks to draw near to Him, He the One free of all imperfections and the Most High.

13. Putting complete trust in Allah

And Musa (Moses) said: "O my people! If you have believed in Allah, then put your trust in Him if you are Muslims (those who submit to Allah's Will)." (Surah Yunus: 84) The muslims, people who surrender to Allah, must put their trust in Allah. Putting trust in Allah is important. This means, they rely on Allah at all times whether that be something big or small. Whatever it is, a true believer always put their trust in Allah. When a man put his trust in Allah they will attain peace. They will be sheltered from their fears. They know that Allah has power over all things so it is a great comfort to them. Muslims are ordered to wholly and exclusively to rely on Allah (swt) in their lives. It is only Allah who controls the Universe and both good and bad are His decree. The significant element that should always be kept in mind is the omnipotence of Allah (swt). Therefore our actions and the material resources available to us do not guarantee the outcome of any of our undertakings. For example our material and physical strength may deceive us into believing that victory in a battlefield is inevitable. The truth is that our strength or weakness has no bearing on the outcome of the battle, and it is only by the will of Allah that we become victorious or get defeated by the enemy. It was this firm belief that lead a handful of Muslims during and after the time of the Prophet (saw) to fight so valiantly against a formidable enemy over and over again.

14. Thankful to Allahs bounties

And Allah has made for you out of that which He has created shades, and has made for you places of refuge in the mountains, and has made for you garments to protect you from the heat (and cold), and coats of mail to protect you from your (mutual) violence. Thus does He perfect His Favour unto you, that you may submit yourselves to His Will (in Islam). (Surah An Nahl: 81)

Primarily there are the normal human conditions in which all of us should be and in which God loves to see us. God creates everyone of us at the hour of birth with a good nature, the essence of which is the acknowledgment that he or she is the servant of only one Creator. This acknowledgment constitutes the essence of our humility, and is both the spring and the lifeblood of everything that is good in us: sound reasoning, moral sense, aesthetic taste, brotherly feeling, etc. Moreover God created everything around us for the purpose of serving us. Allah has given a lot of bounties to human, such as comfortable living conditions. And Allah has also made clothes for us to protect from heat and cold. Without these bounties, we will suffer in the world. Such is Allahs kindness to his servants. So, we must surrender ourselves to Him to show that we are thankful to His favours and gifts.

15. Al-Quran as guidance to those who surrender to Allah

Say (O Muhammad ) Ruh-ul-Qudus [Jibril (Gabriel)] has brought it (the Qur'an) down from your Lord with truth, that it may make firm and strengthen (the Faith of) those who believe, and as a guidance and glad tidings to those who have submitted (to Allah as Muslims). (Surah An Nahl: 102) This verse explains that Quran is the Divine revelation given by Allah to the Prophet and all humankinds. The Quran is thus the primary source of knowledge in Islam. Furthermore, the Book itself clarifies that it is meant to be taken as al-Furqan: the ultimate criterion between right and wrong. The quran will strengthen the belief of muslims. Inside the quran, there a lot of hujjah (proofs) that firm the existence of Allah. The quran also serves as guidance and glad tidings to those who surrender to Allah. People who read and try to sincerely understand Quran will get the guidance if Allah wills. To conclude, the Quran is the unquestionably supreme source of guidance for Muslims. Its existing form is exactly the same which the Prophet himself had left for the followers. The difference in the present arrangement of the Book from its initial sequence of revelation is logically justifiable.

Definition Surrender to god- the term? Often hear what exactly islam aslama yuslimu islam. Give up ownership, control over oursProperty, body, time, rights. Acknowledge what we belong actually is not ours, Him Giver of all god things. Responsible to care. Surrender- he is ultimately in control. Everything-present circumstances. Let go of wtevr kept us frm wanting gods way first. 15 ayats, only 1, important. to relinquish control over what we consider ours: our property, our time, our "rights." When we surrender to God, we are simply acknowledging that what we "own" actually belongs to Him. He is the giver of all good things. We are responsible to care for what God has given us, as stewards of His property, but by surrendering to God, we admit that He is ultimately in control of everything, including our present circumstances. Surrendering to God helps us to let go of whatever has been holding us back from God's best for our lives. By surrendering to God, we let go of whatever has kept us from wanting God's ways first.
