Introducing: Zixta Martinez , CFPB Assistant Director for Community Affairs. Zixta Martinez serves as Assistant Director for Community Affairs. In this capacity, she leads the Bureaus work with consumer, civil rights groups and community organizations. Previously, she was Senior Director of Industry and State Relations at Freddie Mac, Director at the National Fair Housing Alliance, Legislative Staff Attorney at the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund, Inc., Housing Policy Analyst for the National Council of La Raza, and Associate Staffer at the Housing and Community Development Subcommittee of the Banking Finance and Urban Affairs Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives. She is a graduate of Yale College, the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin, and the University of Miami School of Law. MBACF is giving back to our community by supporting the Safe House of Seminole County which is a non-profit organization dedicated to seeing an end to the cycle of domestic violence. They provide a coordinated response to prevent the epidemic of domestic violence. This response includes the provision of an emergency shelter, counseling services, a 24-hour crisis hotline, court advocacy and outreach programs. Safe House Wish List: school supplies (backpacks, paper, pencils, spiral notebooks, binders, crayons, markers, etc), single child strollers, gas & gift cards, bathroom rugs, paper products (paper towels, toilet tissue, kleenex, etc), trash bags, hair brushes, deodorant, razors, feminine products, diapers, child sippy cups, Starting Over Kits (on website) .
